Am I crazy to think $24.99 is crazy?!

I didn't plan on getting any Elites regardless, but honestly I expected more than that $$

Considering it's $41 or so in the UK count yourselves lucky with that price!

I hope the pricing sorts itself out nearer the actual release date.

I agree it's too much. If we all speak with our wallets and don't purchase these, I'm sure we'll see sales on them. If these sell well at these prices, I'm sure we'll see more of the same next year with new elites at similarly outrageous prices.

Nope serious collectors and scalpers are going to buy them all up even at this price...buy them now at retail...or pay more from eBay 6 months from now when there all gone...these are supposed to be limited quantity!!

I wont be buying them then. I won't pay that much and I certainly won't get them from scalpers/ebay.

I heard on another topic that Spyro (presumably with 3 others) release November 1st. I guess that means they're releasing sometime in November with wave 2, meaning no Elite's on day one

This rings true only if the market of serious collectors is greater than the quantity of figures made. Look how quickly the value of metallic green Shroomboom has dropped...lots of auctions ending now in a varying range between $10 and $25 since most of the more serious collectors already have purchased theirs. You can bet that they'll be producing more of these Eon's Elite figures than the 6000 or so green Shroombooms they distributed to Toys R Us and they will be made available internationally, so US scalpers won't get to profit off international collectors as they get to do with US only releases. US-based scalpers will be sitting on these hoping for a big score, but may be in for a big loss in the end...especially since GameStop has a limited 30 day return policy unlike other retailers. I would expect Spyro to sell the best since he'll be the first to be released, but wouldn't be surprised if the last few of Eons's Elite releases collect dust on store shelves. At $25+tax up front, it's more of an initial investment for scalpers as well. You're better off "investing" in something else, but hey...I could be wrong in the long run...we'll see.

Agreed..25 bucks is way to much for a figure with a gold painted base and a slit boost to its stats....there not even a repose.

I wish they were less expensive. But we will br getting them all either way. My son is excited!

$25 is a bit much, but the way to sell these is to release them one or at most two at a time, maybe every month. If they release something like four at one time, it will pretty hard for people to justify $100 for just four figures even if they are limited.

But $25 once a month or so doesn't sound as bad and will give people a reason to keep coming back into Gamestop stores.

Yikes...over $30 after shipping & tax. The promo code SAVER should be working for free shipping for one figure, but their backwards website will only accept it if you purchase 2 or more of the Spyro figures. I'll take my chances on these being discounted by the time Thanksgiving sales roll around or will gladly do without.

^ just order 2 and return one if u want it shipped, otherwise preorder in store. I preordered 5 of these. Still cheaper then variants and my son will love these. If they do them 1 a month will work well as his monthly gift for being good in school/ grades. (We started a system last yr where if hes good all month in school and does well he gets a toy.. normally its a tmnt or a skylander, the amount depends how well he did.

Yeah, I'm skipping these. A little too much money for me to justify toys that would merely sit on a shelf. It would be nice if they sold the cases separately, though.

Can't imagine that it will be glass, but you never know. I'm just looking at how this is considered a children's game, I don't think they'd hand children a glass case for a Skylander. If I were a betting man, I'd go with plastic.

I would be willing to bet anything they're not glass, glass is expensive and far to breakable for them to use, they would be gouging us even worse than they already are if glass was used. I'm guessing they're acrylic as that is likely the cheapest way for them to go.

Well, my two cents on this Eon line is that I am definitely in favour of it, if it means they are reducing the number of chase variants they plan on releasing for Trap Team. It seems like there has been a trend in the reduction of chase lines. SSA had 4 (crystal, gold, silver, gold); Giants had 4 (glitter, flocked, stone, and metallic purple); and Swap Force had 2 (gold/silver and Green). All in all, buying the Eon Elite (and actually being able to order them at face value instead of buying from eBay scalpers) would definitely be cheaper than chasing the treasure hunt lines!

The Eon's Elite figures are not in the same league as rare/chase variants like crystal, gold, flocked, etc. Those are truly limited to small numbers and most people will never even get a chance to see one in person let alone have the opportunity to buy one at retail.

Eon's Elite figures are just a store exclusive line, similar to Legendary/Nitro/Enchanted. Limited in number compared to standard figures, but are still mass produced and won't be as hard to find as chase/rare figures. If anyone wanted to collect them all, they just have to stay on top of release dates or do the pre-orders and will probably not have any problems getting them.

Whose to say there won't be chase/rare Eon's Elite figures, like a flocked Spyro or something, that Gamestop will only sell in a $400 Trap Team bundle with a starter pack and random set of figures. >.<
