Well it isn't the first half of 2013 anymore. More games are out on Wii U, so more people are buying.

Both, I've had my Wii U since the week of launch.

You can get a refurbished one from Nintendo's website for much cheaper than the retail version.

Actually, I've got two 3DSes - a regular 3DS and a 3DS XL (kept the old one after upgrading to the XL, for StreetPass purposes). Bought them all at launch, too.

The Wii U is my favourite console of all time, and the 3DS XL is either at or at least very close to the top of my list of favourite handhelds, alongside the DSi XL. :)
