Yup - as many people here have posted, the register lock on Jade Fire Kraken has been lifted and he can now be purchased, pending the receiving and stocking at your local store.

Picked up one this morning around 9am from the Gainesville, FL Walmart (no issues with register lockout). Still had 10 left when my wife and I left. This was the last variant we wanted, and my wife is stoked because she's been looking forward to this version of Fire Kraken since he was announced/leaked

just because the lock is lifted doesn't mean it's official sometimes for a sale if there's a street date. my walmart did get them in, but they're waiting until monday night - tuesday to sell them since they are more worried on the actual date as someone had pointed out june 16th - 17th as official. the employee i talked to pointed out that many times items do arrive to be locked or not locked but still that street date (despite what some claim the boxes to be) is actually for monday or tuesday. it's possible depending on the store you could get the employees in trouble still going ahead with this, but at this time it seems to be a store by store case and it's best not to argue with the employees if they're going to wait to release him

The only release date I was told by Walmart was Kickoff Countdown for 6-18-14 at their stores for sale.

None of the Walmarts I went to today had them out. (Cleveland OH here- I went to Eastlake and Mayfield Hts)
Both of them had Kickoff Countdown in plenty of numbers however.

I picked up my Jade Fire Kraken today in Wichita, KS Walmart. He looks so much better in person.

Damn, Walmart associates... To stop me from getting him FIRED, he gave me JFK free. He had his coworker ring up all 10 they had and was planning to take them straight to his car after a few people asked and he told them they didnt have any. I watched his friend ring up the entire box then kindly said THATS SUM BS.. I want the store manager right now. He gave me it free. WTF.

I would have not taken his offer and still went for a manager. Could have gotten his stupid ass fired, and then once he had to return them you probably would have gotten a free one from the manager. Jerks like this deserve to get fired.

After reading all of this nonsense about register lock outs and street dates, and then remembering all of the trouble I went to trying to get the April wave of figures from Walmart, I decided to just buy this one online. I managed to get one on eBay including shipping for just a little more than MSRP plus whatever I would've spent on gas driving around hunting for him.

Got one at the first Walmart I checked at in East Windsor, NJ tonight...they still had 2 on the shelf after I bought one. No issues at the register, but the Jade Fire Kraken would not scan with a price on the price check scanners you find in the store.

Anyword on this wind-up single that was mentioned??

No dice in the Milton, Ga, Walmart last light (Windward Parkway). Trying Howell Mill Walmart today at lunch, though I don't have much hope because its easily the worst Walmart I've ever set foot in.

There's about 8 left at the Walmart in Lumberton NJ (Route 38 in South Jersey). There were some both in the main section and on an end cap towards the back wall of the same aisle.

The Cinnaminson NJ and Philly Aramingo ones didn't have anything out, and I heard the Hamilton NJ one didn't have any out.

Oy, still nothing around here. Fingers crossed for today.

Ok... apologies to the worst Walmart ever... This was the first time they've EVER had what I wanted. Collection complete!

In good news, I totally missed mastermc54's post about there being a few in East Windsor, NJ. So i raced out of my office and got up there in like 10 minutes and they had one JFK left. No hassle at the register or anything. Super lucky, thanks for the post mastermc54.

Now if someone could just point me in the direction of a S2 Bash and a Royal Double Trouble that aren't outrageously priced, then I'll have a complete Skylanders collection, lol!!

Yeah, it took me a while to pick one out, I went through 6 or 7 before picking one. A some things about this figure I noticed:

- The paint on the fire on the base is very inconsistent, I found a few with next to no highlight paint on the fire.
- The clear green must be a difficult surface to get good paint coverage, not unlike Jade Flashwing. I went through many of those too before selecting. The white seems to bleed badly and the gold details had a lot of runs onto the green surface.
- I saw one with red paint from the base on the head. That one should not have slipped through quality control.
- Fire Kraken already has "crazy eyes" (eyes aren't looking in the same direction), but many of the figures it was worse than others. He looked downright goofy in some figures.

I finally found one! I got two (one for a friend).

The two that I have don't look the greatest, but oh well.

didnt care about paint quality since im sure kids will have it on floor within an hour of receiving....

Thanks for the heads up. They had 5 Jade Fire Kraken at the Walmart in SoCal, plus the $4.98 Camo, Lightning Rod, and Warnado from SSA. And the usual Swap Force figures (no hot dog or scratch). Also saw three of the Enchanted Star Strikes.

FYI - in spite of the register lock being lifted (although it may go back into effect), the figures (JFK) should be pulled off the shelves and held for an upcoming ad. Translation: Don't put too much effort into tracking them down just yet.

I hope both of these 2 make their way to the U.K. as well but with the track record of what characters make it to the U.K is another matter.As those 2 characters and Lightcore Bumbleblast are all i need to complete my main swap force collection.AS I have 37/37 Spyro Adventures 98/99 Giants 35/38 Swap Force which make a total of 170/174
