Second TRU in Queens, box behind counter again. This box is opened amd of course only 1 fig is missing

Which TRU in Queens? I work at one and my store didn't get any in today.

The one just Queen Blvd, near the LIE had one. The TRU metro had one as well but it was sold when I got there.

Has anyone noticed that the same guy on eBay who was driving up prices on the swap variants is also bidding on all of the fuzzy springtime trigger happy listings? Though it seems like he's actually buying them all up, even buy it now listings. Ugh.

Do you think this figure will go up or down in price over time? I don't know what happened with past flocked figures (other than employee edition figures obviously). But I am still considering trading off mine for another chase variant, but I thought I'd ask if anyone has any predictions about the price of getting this fuzzy figure later on.

Thanks!

It's hard to tell. This is the only variant that I recall where we've been told *exactly* how much was made. The closest was the Flocked Stump Smash - but that was merely how many were being given away via that contest (no word on if more were given away to employees, etc.). We *know* that at least 7,000-something of those were made - so you won't be able to use that as any indication, since there are about five times as many.

1,500 is not a lot. I remember a few years ago when Playmates released 1,701 of a couple of Star Trek figures and the market went insane (the major difference, though, is that - at the time - these weren't variants and were the only way to get these figures - as opposed to the non-fluffy Springtime Trigger Happy). People were so upset that Playmates increased the production of the third figure planned for this series to a run of 3,000. Now, a quick completed auctions search on eBay shows the second figure in this series selling for $68 and the third failing to sell with a BIN of $100.

With that said - if you don't like the figure and can get a different chase variant that you *do* like better... go for it! Ultimately, these figures will be worth less (not "worthless") down the road, so enjoy them now and don't worry about the potential value later on.

I can see there's someone with _****f bidding on every flocked TH. I've seen this when I was considering buying a rare skylander on eBay. Someone with a hidden name that came up as _****d was bidding on every purple metallic and E3 Hot Dog on eBay. I know for a fact that person was actually buying the purple variants too because he/she snaked me at the last second on a metallic purple I was about to win. Then that name keeps bidding on every other one in sight. Are these scalpers trying to buy up the supply to drive up price?

That same person was bidding on every Trap Shadow/Stink Bomb variant, and likely got the special Doom Stone, too.

There's also a eBayer u***o that has won FOUR Fluffy ST Trigger Happy. FOUR. And those were only the ones I was watching that were available to international Canadian buyers. My guess is scalper--probably going to sit on them for a few months then reintroduce them to eBay when the market dries up, then charge crazy fat stracks of cash for them.

LOL yeah I've seen that eBayer too. The eBayer ending in ****f with a rating of 808 has been bidding and retracting and buying on all of the auctions pretty much. He's got an insane retraction history too.

I guess maybe I'll trade my fuzzy TH, but then I know I'll kick myself later on when it's suddenly worth a fortune LOL! I really like some of the other variants a lot more. Except the new swap variants yuck.

Use a heat gun or blow dryer, then slowly peel it off.

Well, I handed away the Trigger Happy to a very kind kid. Ah well, off to eBay. Hopefully his price will drop.

This entire thing was terrible. One figure per store? Remember when people had fist fights over the figures? Great way to bring that back.

People had fist fights over figures? Do tell, this must have been before I got into playing the game. What figure(s) were people getting physical over?

I've never heard of people getting into fights over a Skylander. I've heard of one adult stealing the Skylander out of their shopping cart, but not fist fights o-o

I kinda like the Flocked variants, but this guy is lame. Why not add some flocked grass to the base??

Also; Why so limited?

We need figures too smilie

Hm. GhostRoaster.com cites HDRoom. HDRoom sites Activision - which is weird, because I didn't think Activision released these numbers and they've never really released numbers for any of the other chase variants.

I wouldn't believe those numbers, they smell kinda bad... I don't have any better numbers but the only numbers I believe for variants so far are some of the Frito Lay prizes.

Why doesn't that site cite a source for that info? It says "How rare is the metallic purple Lightning Rod, and is he alone? I have confirmed that Activision has made only 1,500 of this figure." How did he "confirm" that number? It doesn't say "Activision has confirmed" or "sources at Activision say", I think being skeptical of those numbers is very reasonable.

As of now; that's the only "production number" of chase variants ever mentioned.

It's safe to say that they probably aren't ever going to share those numbers.
