Anyway--on to the actual topic. Was there an "official" statement of some kind where it was said that no more single colored variants would be made? I've read that on DS a few times but never knew where it came from. Also--did the packaging have a toy fair mark on the cardboard backing? I didn't get a good look at photo before it was removed.

The packaging was the same as normal Dune Bug's, but had a Toy Fair 2014 sticker, and he was completely red much like the Red Camo is.

The picture did not show a Toy Fair 2014 sticker (edit: see picture above).

Well since it's a Toy Fair exclusive toy, it will very likely show the sticker as well, just like the last three Skylander Toy Fair exclusive toys.

My apologies. It's just that we get way too many people that make false claims.

Nice to see you apologize. It's a horrible double-standard around here that someone who makes a claim is assaulted to show proof, but folks can sit around and accuse people of lying without a shred of proof on their side.

Well, it is good to see this one is real, looks cool.

However, Unclebob, that's not how it works. The person who makes a claim is the one that needs to offer evidence. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, and all that stuff.

A good example of this is the old "Celestial Teapot" theory. If you are unfamiliar, it goes like this:

Someone says that there is an ordinary china teapot orbiting the sun between Mars and Jupiter. Now all common sense says that, obviously, a man-made teapot cannot exist in that area of space - however the claimant then states "Well, you cannot prove it is not there (obviously), therefore it is just as accurate as your claims that it is not there". It relies on the fact that you cannot prove a negative. It is a logical fallacy.

So therefore, if someone claims a new figure exists, it is not equivalent to those that say it does not because he has provided no evidence. The burden of proof is not on the skeptics. This argument is frequently used in religion vs. science debates. Science starts with a theory, then seeks out evidence before coming to a conclusion. Religion starts with a conclusion, then seek evidence and theory to support it. If he is comfortable waiting until the cards hit the table then that fine, it will eventually play out in his favor. However, if he gets offended he is not afforded that trust (particularly with some of the whoppers we have heard) immediately without having an reputation of accurate sightings, then his expectations are too high. If you cannot provide evidence, or cannot provide details due to employment issues, then that is understandable - but not an excuse.

I know you are still upset that you were not afforded that trust at one point, and you felt you deserved it. It obviously upset you greatly. Well, if you are just going to provide new hints without context or photos, you simply have to get used to a bit of skepticism.

Defpally--I agree you have to expect people to provide proof of some kind. But let's ask nicely ..lol
Thanks for posting photo. My son--of course--said, "I WANT THAT!!"
lol. It's cook looking. What specifically was the deal with them saying there wouldn't be any more single colored variants? I understand the reasoning behind it but was it said publicly? I personally like them better with the different colored eyes.

The printed-on emblem is at the top left of the card for SSA editions, and either the top left or right for Giants/SF. Snowderdash is the only one whose emblem is close to the logo, but the logo is also super huge from the lightcore packaging.

If you're to follow past trends, you wouldn't be able to see the emblem at all in that Dune Bug photo if it was there.

Toy Fair exclusive Skylanders always had the Toy Fair Exclusive Edition stickers. If this Skylander is going to be Toy Fair exclusive, the sticker is bound to be on the packages like all the others have.

However, Unclebob, that's not how it works. The person who makes a claim is the one that needs to offer evidence.

So, you're saying that if someone is going to make the claim "You're a liar.", then that someone needs to provide the evidence to back up their claim? Because I agree with you there.

I've said this over and over - I don't think you (generic 'you') should blindly believe everything posted on these forums. But you can be skeptical without calling them a liar or even responding to them at all. If you have actual evidence that someone is actually lying, then by all means, show your evidence. But to accuse someone that you know nothing about to be lying with absolutely no evidence? That's a pretty ****** thing to do.

It's just in no way approriate for a website based around a game such as Spyro the Dragon. Anyone who does so will be banned immediately. Asking for ROMs will get you a swift ban as well though discussion is allowed as long as you aren't boasting about the fact or you're providing a method for others to get them no matter how cryptic.

Pretty sure it's that one :u
It doesn't mention hacking/mods specifically but since those usually require a rom, put two and two together.

Hacking isn't illegal and ROMs aren't illegal. Rules state you can't share ROMs (which is typically illegal).

If I rip my own ROM from my own disc and hack it, it isn't illegal. Period.

So, to the first question - which rule was being broken?

Here's an analogy of ROMs versus music files you rip. ROM is the digital representation of the software, much like the CD you buy at the store. When you RIP music, you get a digital file in another format of that music you can use. Same thing applies to ROMs...they are digital representations of what used to be on computer chips, CDs, DVDs etc of that software program.

From a legal standpoint, having ROMs or MP3 of a program you have purchased is not technically legal, unless of course stated by any legalize that may be present on the original work. Because enforcing something legally takes money/time/effort, some things people do are technically against the original terms but because it's abandoned from a cost/benefit standpoint companies choose not to legally pursue.
