Now that I've realized that only one of those Skylanders will actually be fully developed, I'm kinda sad. I'd hope for the Dolphin or the Dragon-fly (the vampire doesn't seems too interesting, in my opinion).

I think they mean that only one fan picked name will become official, the other two will probably still be developed and get names picked by the developers. Thats how I understand the wording anyway.

I really hope it turns out to be like you said. Actually, it would be quite strage if they developed a character this far (the art is great), only to let him die.

This still doesn't exclude the possibility that TfB will take the other two characters, give them a name and further develop them.

Like what was stated earlier. I'm sure they have names for all three of these characters and will just use the winning name instead of there chosen name for it. The other two I'm pretty sure will still get made and used but with there original name the developers had in mind. Don't see them creating characters and getting everyone all excited about them to turn around and delete them. Plus I'm sure the coding of the game is gonna have too have all of them in the game since the name won't be revealed till so close to the release if it release as it has in the past. They can't wait till the name comes out to start incorporating the character and creating it in the game. Adding the name shouldn't be to difficult to change as it will just have a placeholder name as the previous games did.

Yeah, I know, I wanted to go full all out with Dragon Fly (a simple but effective name for my choice) being a worker drone in a beehive and he got noticed by Eon when he saved the day from Kaos' minions.

I was able to give a decent backstory for the Skylander I chose. As a writer, you quickly learn to make a story with whatever limits you're given.

Interestingly the URLs for the smaller pictures of the characters contain what may be placeholder names for two of them: Buzzerker and Frightengale.

I actually like those names better than anything suggested so far.
