They also seem to be the same size as core figures... I like this. Hopefully they stick to this.

Look at the karts, in fact look at the title on the page. It says Skylanders Ranger Vehicles. I think that Ranger is the the title for the new Siykanders. A Ranger is usually a multitalented person that can wield multiple weapons. Also that guys just doesn't look like a Ranger.

I'm not quite sure that all 4 of them are Skylanders...I'd bet that the Lion and the Undead Giant (as Matteo keenly observed) are both NPC characters. The hammer guy and the blue guy with the bow and arrow have Skylander written all over them though.

And yeah, there's obviously something to the colored translucent boxes...but what?

You might be on to something. A single color metallic gold Skylander did not seem right to me when I made that post. If the Lion is actually a Skylander, I would bet it's either a variant colored mega bloks character, npc or a bad guy. I just don't see an actual Skylander being that bland color-wise unless it's a variant/special edition of said skylander...which could be possible though as there has been a release of that type of mega bloks character (blue Bash). If it's a Skylander, my guess is that the actual color scheme is something different then. And yeah, a Lion Skylander would be pretty cool...so there's that.

As for the Unded Giant guy...Still leaning NPC on that one.

But it's all for fun speculation anyway.


Edit: Then again...looking at that Undead Giant Guy...Looks like his color scheme is of the legendary color scheme in post 9642...So looks like my intuition is wrong there....cuz only Skylanders get that treatment...

I agree. That definitely isn't the regular lion painting.
And this could mean that he is actually a new Skylander.
However, I was thinking if the swappable weapons mechanic isn't too "dangerous" for kids. Think about it: a baby could swallow a weapon, and that just doesn't seems family friendly.
Also, ok, we change the weapons... And then? We have a, let's say, lion character that runs really fast, equipped with that reptile Skylander's bow... Wow. That doesn't seems really "game changing", to Me.
That would extremely limit the character creation (the gimmick Skylanders would be forced to have a weapon of some sort), thus reducing the uniqueness of each one. Yes, Swappable characters also have a "restriction" (they all have humanoid shapes), but they came up with some really interesting characters (Grilla Drilla and Night Shift, for example, wich don't have a weapon of any kind).
And it looks way too similar to Swap Force's mechanic.
And I really hope those cars are just for the Mega Bloks set, and don't have NOTHING to do with the game itself (except, maybe, for an optional karting mode, that sincerely wouldn't need an incredible development, compared to the adventure/story one).

BTW weapon interchanging isn't that much innovative it extisted since the dawn of RPG but not physically. Plus such tiny part can be swallowed be toddler, so yeah

This happens a lot more than you'd think with product images. Usually its a complete mistake or misunderstanding between 2 companies, in this case, Mega Bloks may have had no idea that the characters they revealed weren't revealed by Activision yet, or they weren't told exactly what they were.

The absolutely biggest one for Skylanders was Power A revealing the entire Giants character list...but no one actually took pictures of it lol

I am calling Red Dune Bug "The Love Bug" from now on! Those new figures are very interesting too! I think the hammer guy is probably an earth-type. Hammers are very basic and old weapons so it just doesn't feel right for a tech-type, don't you think? Boomer has dynomite, Sprocket has a tank, Trigger Happy has gold-shooting guns..if anything, a tech should have something that feels futuristic and innovative. The gold lion could very well be a Skylander 4 varient of a new figure, so you never know....and if we're going by the color of his shield, he might be a fire-type. That would actually work for me. In some of my favorite animes, they had a fire-element lion "summon" if you will. And it just sounds cool. As for the karts? Hmm.....that's too up-in-the-air atm. They could be something only for Megabloks (which would make more sense to me), or something related to the video game itself. I'm hoping it's for Megabloks only. A vehicle for a building toy is something practically expected in our Lego-mania world. Not that I'm complaining...

Is this an accidental spoiler? I don't think so. Frito-Lay's already had the go-ahead to show off some new figs just for their contest. And let's face it: Activision likes to tease us. It wouldn't be at all surprising if they intentionally gave out these spoilers to build up hype. They know we love to find them, so they put them out there, and then chuckle to themselves as we go nuts speculating. My bet is that if there's enough interest, they'll make some toys that tie-in with certain expectations....such as RC Skylander cars. We assume it's part of the video game, and they throw those out for kids to play with instead while they wait for more figs....yes I can see this. And why not? They've got building toys, backpacks, clothing, erasers, cards, coloring books, ect. What's one more tie-in? They're gonna milk this for all it's worth, and I really don't blame them....why no, that's not a Trigger Happy Dart Gun in that bag...and I don't have 2 so I can pretend to be like him....no no.....>.>

And even if they took them down, I still suspect it was intentional. Maybe it's just paranoia, but Activision likes to tease us, and I get the feeling they did this on purpose and then made it look like an "accident". Companies do alot of odd things these days to get attention and drive sales. But as I said, I could be just paranoid....

It would be strange if they made new Giants characters because they wouldn't work in the Giants game, which would be too confusing to market.

I think if there are ever more Giants they have to be series 2, same I think applies to Swappers.
