Wow, you think we hate her? She was a Spyro character before Skylanders, and she still remains to be one of the most popular Undead characters.

Sorry, I was Fryno mad for a sec I do see people hate her but I see like 5 billion users with her name. I still do think Chop Chop is a better mascot and I see replacing her

Nah. Cynder being pretty awesome makes Cynder popular.

She's pretty cool. I wish she had more attacks (flying is kinda boring).

IMO, she's only popular because she's pushed. And while there are Undeads that "I" like, I have to admit, the pickings are 'slim' compared to the other elements.

Chop Chop is cool, a main stay, but never pushed
Ghost Roaster is *dead* (and why has been discussed)
Rollerbrawl is brand new
Fright Rider has potential, and has receieved a small push IMO - but has only been in one game
Grim Creeper is brand new...and frankly underwhelming despite looking cool
Hex I guess wsa the best from Undead, but they WAY oversaturated her

It just doesn't feel like the Undead roster is built ot be as 'likable' as the other elements IMO.

We have some official confirmation: Skylanders is now a $2 billion franchise, it's now in a 2-year development rotation, TFB is making the next game after they took a break last year, but there is still no word on Skylanders 4.

Didn't we all pretty much suspect that they were doing a two-year rotation? I guess it's official now. But what I think is more exciting from that article is that Call of Duty is now on a three-year rotation, with Sledgehammer bringing back the Modern Warfare series. Infinity Ward really disappointed with Ghosts, so it's nice to see Modern Warfare back, and the developers given an additional year to work on their respective titles.

Sorry, but I don't understand what "2 heard rotation" means. Does it mean that we will have a new game every 2 years? Or that they will simply alternate the developers, so one year we will have a TFB game, and the other a game made by a different company (maybe VV)?

They rotate the game developers making the Skylanders games, switching back and forth. TFB have been working on Skylanders 4 since 2012, while VV had been working on SSF likely since 2011. Speculation here, but VV may be working on Skylanders 5 as we speak since they finished Swap Force. 2 years apart.

Basically, its what Activision has been doing with their current baby (*cough* cashcow) Call of Duty. They rotate the developers, so there's more time to work on the games, and presumably, make them better. Whether they look the same to you or they are truly any good is up to you. But it's worked so far with COD so they must've figured, why not Skylanders?

Now if they could bother to bring a true Skylanders booth to PAX Prime already....must I direct Skylander questions to the COD cosplayers manning the booths?? Though I admit it would be funny to see their confusion....."No sir, I said 'Spyro' not pyro. No, I don't want you to make COD action figures! I'm talking about little dragons and birds, and elves!". The thing is, I can see a Skylanders fanmod for COD being made before they actually get themselves in gear to really show that much love to the Northwest.

Soon enough, we'll have something come up for Toy Fair. What that is, I've no real idea, but I'm hoping it actually is something we all can enjoy.

It's either that or wait 2-3 years for each release...which from a figure standpoint I wouldn't mind. I personally wish they would release two adventures per skylander wave but that's me. It might get to that if the buying public cuts back on figure purchases.

I'm not familiar with these discs, but I'm assuming that you purchase them blindly. So it's random as to which one you receive? If that's the case, couldn't you just eBay to eliminate the element of chance?

Yes you can, but then you eat the higher cost for the 'rare' disc and TRY exclusives that go from $5 to $10 each. On top of that, there are ALOT of disc, they are priming for Wave 3 now based on what I saw on amazon - April time frame - but leading up to that? You've got like 30 disc for wave 1 and 22 for wave 2. If you pick perfect - that's $125. But EVERYONE gets duplicates. My wife and I - intentionally and not, own 4 complete sets and 4 almost complete sets AND 2 'extras' pack (wave 1 only). why? we'd buy a bunch and then have so many duplicates that we figured we'd just sell them to get our money back. Life just got in the way so we still have them haha.

Now experience has taught us how to get the rares, and for Wave 2 I just bought the 'all in one pack' from Target to not deal with the BS and so I wouldn't get caught up in resaling - but the BIGGEST flaw/issue with DI is the inherent randomness. Disc are random, unlocking content is random, everything is just kind of random and NOT in a good way. As well, just being honest, while Skylander characters are pricy (new ones at least) - each one offers a unique play experience, and a TOTAL experience. Can't say that with DI. Skylanders you feel as though - yeah I'm getting ripped off by buying on disc content, but it feels more substantial than the cost of DI. It will be more interesting to compare after a DI2 or DI3, once Disney has caught up 'experience wise' to were Activision is. I mean if they do finally bring in Marvel or SW...they are already doing variants, you KNOW the collection is going to get HUGE for DI2.

Well I ate the higher costs for Darklight Crypt and Boomer on eBay, and they set me back well more than $5-10. But ya, with the randomness, it's hard to say how much it's all gonna cost. Ideally, once you find that tipping point where you're getting more duplicates than new, you would switch over and buy the remaining on eBay. But it's never clear exactly the best time would be to make that switch.

Another variable to the whole thing is what you decide you want to collect. For Skylanders, I chose to not get every single figure, but only all Series 1 figures and Adventure packs. So no reposes, variants, light cores, legendaries, or battle packs for me. Similar decisions could be made for Infinity.

So ya, a lot of variables come to play, and an Infinity collection could end up costing more than a Skylanders one. Although, if you think about it, the amount of money spent is really determined by ourselves--what limits we place. Cuz at the end of the day, we don't need to purchase anything outside of the starter packs. We all just choose to buy all the additional stuff.

Problem is, if Marvel characters are Toy Box Mode only, they're a waste of 14 bucks. They can do nothing but walk around worlds you create. This is what I hate about the first Infinity, and hence why I might not buy the second game. MIGHT! They need to make Toy Box characters more relevant.
