Level stars [CLOSED]

I have recently finished the story and am now going back through levels to get items I missed to get all 3 stars for the level.

On a couple levels, I have found my missing items and then exited the level. If I go to level select and go to that chapter, it shows only 1 star, but then if I hit Y (on Wii U) for Details, it shows all 3 stars lit up and that I have everything. Do I simply need to complete the chapter again to get all 3 to show up on my level selection screen?

Also, I earned a 3rd star on Chapter 4 last night, but don't think the star ever showed up on my Portal master count -- is this the same problem?

Something similar like this happened to me in the last level that isn't a boss. (Kaos Fortress, or something like that?)

I got every collectible for the 3rd star and beat the chapter, but I didn't get the star. (It showed EVERYTHING as marked off. smilie bad programming...)

It's called WORKING AS DESIGNED.

You ACTUALLY have to COMPLETE the level for you to get the star. I've found my items and exited the level as well (just did it yesterday) and you are correct...the items shows complete but the STARS are awarded AT THE COMPLETION of the level.

Complete the level and you'll get the star(s).

Remember Giants didn't remember what you did until you completed the level, Swap Force is at least nice enough to track it even though you don't complete the level...you just have to finish it to get the reward.

Thanks GhostRoaster....the fact that it tracks it immediately had me confused. At least I know to just go complete those chapters now.

This has been my experience also - the individual 'ticks' are awarded when you collect the item and exit, but the big stars are only awarded at the end of the level.

The game doesn't save level endings until the level is over, I didn't know people expected otherwise out of it.
