He could very well be released months from now, but if they can build up buzz, there'll be less of them warming shelves for eons. They really are playing a mind game. If they do it right, they can get more people excited, but if they do it wrong they'll lose customers faster than rats off a sinking ship. And we all know we're paying more than they'd be next year just to guarantee we get them all.
I highly doubt he'll warm shelves at all. He looks awesome and appealing to kids, and me. He did win the most popular new skylander poll on here didn't he? I can't wait for him, but in some ways I can.
I meant that from
their perspective. They want as much hype about a character as they can get, so they can
prevent shelf-warming as much as possible.
Incidentally: Was looking for some mega-ram spyros for that silly project I wanted to do, and I saw this offer on GameStop's Spyro S3 page:
Skylanders Swap Force Lightcore Hex Free!
Scrolled down:
Bonus! Purchase select Skylanders Swap Force characters get Skylanders Swap Force Lightcore Hex free!
No rain checks will be issued. No substitutions will be made. While supplies last.
Online Customers: Item will ship with your order.
So far as I can tell, you get it with:
S3 Cynder, S3 Spyro, LC Flashwing, Magna Charge, Rattle Shake, Smolderdash, LC Grim Creeper, LC Smolderdash, LC Starstrike, S2 Chill, Roller Brawl, Slobber Tooth, Zoo Lou, S2 Pop Fizz, Countdown, LC Warnado, Hoot Loop, and S3 Eruptor. It doesn't count the adventure packs or battle packs. Interestingly, it also doesn't with count some of the newest figs, like Spy Rise or Rubble Rouser. At least, their pages didn't say so. That could be an error on their part though. Didn't seem to show up for those that aren't available online either, but I could be wrong.
I don't know what saddens me more: The fact that they have so many Hexes that they're trying to find any excuse just to give them away (much like TRU's Lgd Trigger Happy), or that they made such an obvious a mistake in identifying her. How many people do you think will call about "Swap Force" LC Hex? Does anyone even
need her anymore?
