Lol! I love that they told fans how the figs would look so cool, but didn't give much info beyond that. And the pic. Really, in all honesty I've never seen chase varients displayed so prominently in a store. Scratch that, I've never seen chase varients in stores period! Has anyone seen them the way they're shown in that pic? Or is it how I suspect it is, and you actually have to dig to even see them?

Either way, I can't get to Toy Fair. I hope we can get some info from anyone who is though. And maybe some pics on their exclusives if nothing else?

Any store employee with a brain cell doesn't put them up. They'll either take them themselves, or the manager will take it and auction it off with a bunch of other stuff for triple the price as a 'bargain bundle'.

And even if whoever finds them has a heart and puts it out anyway, 9 times out of 10 a scalper will nab it and sell it on - without fail - for 12 times the price.

I found a stone Whirlwind when Giants came out last year. It was at Toys R Us and there were a ton of Skylanders in 3 different sections of the store. I found it by digging through. The stones ones don't stand out as much, so that is probably why it was still there. Also, they just got a huge shipment so I was lucky to be there at the right time.

Anyone else notice they made a Trap Shadow post on their facebook page yesterday...are they really nipple twisting now for wave 4?!1!!!//???? A lot of places still don't have Sheep Wreck.

Well you can't always expect a picture of an unreleased Skylander to be "Oh! That must mean they're going to announce the release of him/her soon!"

I'm glad they didn't sneak any wave 4 info in, Acti needs to slow down with the waves, we have almost all the characters and 2014 just started, I'm already almost broke from wave 3 anyway, I need time to get that moula game back on point. They're really rushing it this cycle.

Considering they never really announce anything regarding figure releases, I don't expect it but it is implied. Trap Shadow is presumed to be in wave 4 and we see something with him on it. Look at the responses to most of the posts for the Facebook game. It's not people talking about the game it's people talking about Trap Shadow and when he's coming out, so I'm not alone here.

It's a gimmick to get people talking about him before he comes out. He could very well be released months from now, but if they can build up buzz, there'll be less of them warming shelves for eons. They really are playing a mind game. If they do it right, they can get more people excited, but if they do it wrong they'll lose customers faster than rats off a sinking ship. And we all know we're paying more than they'd be next year just to guarantee we get them all.

I highly doubt he'll warm shelves at all. He looks awesome and appealing to kids, and me. He did win the most popular new skylander poll on here didn't he? I can't wait for him, but in some ways I can.

I see no wave 5. From what Activision has released so far, there is only nine more base characters left to release and a butt load of variants. Maybe wave 5 will be a mid March through April thing that releases strictly variants? That wood be cool.

Speculation/question:

Wasn't Ninjini given to a few people standing in line at the Time Square T.R.U. for last years Skylander Toy Fair event? Then she was released a few weeks later? I wonder if they'll do that again this year. If they give out Trap Shadow (clearly the Ninjini/Wham Shell of Swap Force) this year it might work out to the same results.

A pure guess on which skylander it would be, is Freeze Blade. Since there were 2 Ninjinis (regular and scarlet) and there are 2 Freeze Blades (regular and nitro)

I meant that from their perspective. They want as much hype about a character as they can get, so they can
prevent shelf-warming as much as possible.

So far as I can tell, you get it with:

I don't know what saddens me more: The fact that they have so many Hexes that they're trying to find any excuse just to give them away (much like TRU's Lgd Trigger Happy), or that they made such an obvious a mistake in identifying her. How many people do you think will call about "Swap Force" LC Hex? Does anyone even need her anymore?

Just to say when nitro freeze blade foes come out it will nit be at toys r us anyway the nitros are Target exclusives just as enchanted are WalMart exclusives.

I think he's just saying the first news about regular Freeze Blade should be in that link. It's all speculation though of whether it'll be Nitro or regular that comes out first. Possibly they might be at the same time, but...we'll see.

Polar Whirlwind was GameStop exclusive for the first Skylander Day, and Scarlet was pretty much everywhere.

When wave 3 first came out, everything was overstocked (save for the battle packs), but i only grabbed hyper beam (cause i love prism break) . the next day i went back with a gift card, and everything was gone. All that was left was a single dune bug.

That also explains my inability to find variants. The staff and managers at my local stores are all pretty uneducated when it comes to skylanders and variants (meaning they put out any and all skylanders). So i thought i was unlucky, that no variants are shipped to my area. Turns out there are just an abundance of skylander fans.

I would love to see both and come back for the fourth game. I love both way too much to have to choose one of them and they both actually need a wow pow for both of them to stand out better in the crowd of Undead Skylanders.

Ghost Roaster won't be back. He has a small passionate fan base, but that's about it.
