Honestly, I'm teetering at the present time. I'm holding off to see what the next game is about but if it lacks the things I'm looking for (I.e. multiplayer online, a redesigned mode of play besides just linear levels/tasks) I will probably sell off my collection. I really enjoy the series but I can only play the same levels so many times. Plus I'm almost 24 and literally no one I know in my age group plays this game (my wife tries to play but just doesn't really like video games). So without the option to play with people online all I have is myself. But we'll see and I'm hopeful because I love the game, but I won't get my hopes too high.

Which makes a lot of sense. I have kept much of mine in boxes for that just in case I feel to sell. Though I still would like a bash series 2 figure since I gave a friend the one I had and haven't found one since. I think most are getting to the point where it's enough. With large collections and too much of same old same old, there's not much to justify a $75 game + 500 on average per person a collection of characters a year for one game. I think activision has become too greedy with it. Just too many variants now as well to try and make money off of.

Out of extra figures for swap force I only have several aside the dark edition including the nitro magna charge pack, enchanted hoot loop and the legendaries along with rip tide, roller brawl. I of course have quickdraw rattleshake and he was the one i wanted most along with scratch. Not many others seem appealing but maybe grilla drilla and jade fire kraken.

Taking that last ride through the sunset on skylanders. Hopefully a return of more classic spyro gameplay in the horizon.

Well, seeing as gamestop is hoping to drive sales by offering a year old ssidekick it looks like gamestop doesn't think skylanders have pasted thier prime.

Target sold out of swappers before thier sale even sstarted. It certainly seems like sales are good because wave 1 are hard to find.

Activision is not going to let a money making franchise die, if you follow thier history. They are generally even willing to take a lose and release a game after that with a different marketing strategy.

One Year Old Sidekick?
I live in Canada.... We still haven't gotten the Giants Sidekicks... We had the Spyro Ones TWICE at EB Games... but never the Giants ones once.
PLEASE Let this deal come to canada.... I want them but I'm not going to pay Ebay prices for them.

All you have to do is look at the shelves. I see plenty of empty shelves with no skylanders and I see plenty of Disney infinity stocked.

I'm pretty sure that Skylanders will keep going as long as they can continue to sell figures.

In a way, I would like to see them go back to more of what they did with the original game; Swap Force felt "special" in a way since they were able to revamp the gameplay a bit, but I much preferred the shorter levels of the older games; sometimes I'd be well over an hour, going on two, on some Swap Force levels and I just don't have that time to commit.

If Disney do end up doing an Infinity 2, I hope they make it a less tedious game. I really tried to like it, but for someone who has no interest in making their own levels, the ones with the game were very tedious.

That couod be because Skylanders are flying off the shelf and Disney Infinity are not.

My tru has too many skylanders in stock as well as disney infinity. Actually every place I've been where I live has skylanders in stock. Target was actually depleted of Disney Inifinity. I was kind of surprised. Skylanders will be cancelled one day. Just like guitar hero.....its a fad. It will die down at some point. I think when they cancel skylanders it will be time to cancel skylanders. And 10 years down the road they will bring it back just like ninja turtles, cabbage patch kids, and my little pony.

Then it will be retro.......
