Trying to shoot down Kaos's aircraft at the end of Fantasm Forest on the wii and I am keeping an eye out for missiles when all of a sudden I get hit by about 3 that seem to be coming from off screen. Missiles that I never saw from the time they were launched to the time they hit. Has anyone else noticed this? It's VERY annoying, particularly when you're going for your third star on nightmare mode.

Also, there has been a lot of talk about the improved graphics and I know most of that talk is about the better graphics on the superior powered Xboxes, Playstations, WiiU etc, but on the wii version I find it hard to line up my jumps (yes those horrible jumping things again). For example, it looks like I am jumping to the middle of the next floating platform but I end up falling off the side, missing the platform by a long way and getting zapped back to the start. I'm talking about in general game play here, in the bounce challenges I don't have this problem anymore because I look at my skylanders shadow rather than at my skylander which is much easier.

Also I should point out that I am playing on a big plasma tv so missiles hiding off screen or not being able to judge where I am jumping too isn't a result of trying to play on a tiny screen.

I originally went through the game on Wii, and am now going through on xbox one. It's not just that the graphics are better, but there are entire features that got left off. I've also noticed that jumping works a lot better. I don't know if the wii was simply not capable of handling it or there just wasn't enough memory to hold all the features, but it's just not all there. This is my guess since wii version has to load at the checkpoint while xbox one just plows right on through.

Anyway, it wouldn't surprise me if the gaming engine is generating activity, like missles coming at you, that the graphics just aren't there to display if that makes sense.

Activision may have to chose not to do wii anymore, even though I bet a good chunk of their demographic is still on wii, just so they don't have to put out a product that is inferior to other console versions.

I usually wait until I'm right on the edge of a platform before I jump that way I always know I'm going to make it, though sometimes I misjudge the edge and fall off anyway.

If you are a fan of the Wii, you will not be disappointed by the Wii U. My kids received it for Christmas and they always want to play. Swap Force is so much better on the Wii U than on the Wii. My son always comments, "that wasn't on the Wii!" It is pretty consistent throughout the levels.

Wow I wonder if that is the case? It just happened to me again so it could be. Invisible missiles has got to make the game a lot harder.

Yes I'm guilty of trying to jump too soon sometimes, but then when I slow down to make sure of a jump I can still muck it up. Very frustrating in some sections. Just a little annoying in most parts though.

I almost brought the Wii U for the boys for Christmas (says I who has probably spent longer playing SF than they have), but I thought I would wait to see if anyone had post Christmas sales and since then my boys have both defeated Kaos and are now over it. It doesn't seem to have the replayability of Giants or S:SA so I'm hesitant to grab a Wii U just yet. That being said I will eventually have to change because the wii is dated now and the gap between wii versions and the other versions is only going to grow.

I'm on the WiiU and I have had issues missing to the sides of platforms because I can't judge from the graphics where the edges are.

Specifically talking about side view (jumping left to right across the screen or vise versa), and my son has problems with the same jumps.

I remember one elemental gate (Awestruck Orbits - Undead area in Ch11 Winter Keep) where the platforms were moving round us we kept missing a particular platform. In the end my son took his Skylander off and I did it on my own.

The jumping thing only happened in ToT in the Water/Life gate. On Wii.

on the Wii U, I've never had it start off screen, but I've had the missiles appear on screen, then quickly go off screen and hit me without a second chance to be dstroyed

I'm not a fan of the wii for any type of gaming. I have the wii u which is a huge improvement on the wii. But I only play nintendo specific games on it. I use ps3/xbox for stuff with achievements. Ive played the game through on both ps3 and xbox and the jumping hasnt bothered me at all. But the boss fight with kaos glitched on my xbox.

For these shooting sections, ever since I moved onto the Wii U/360 versions I've missed the Wiimote controls. Just for these little sections... They're so much better, faster and easier and more fun to use with a Wiimote than a boring analogue stick. smilie I'm used to the fast pointing the Wii games had and I still can't get over it, it was so much better with an actual pointer that could respond faster.

Add to the list of things that I can't see - some of the platforms in the teleport zones. If I am somewhere in the middle I can't see the platforms in the bottom right or bottom left hand corners. If I am on one of the bottom corner platforms it zooms out and I can see them all, but as soon as I move it zooms back in and I can't see them again. I also have trouble seeing the top corner ones occasionally because they are hidden by text. No of which matters unless the magic rune is sitting on them, then I have to take a punt on whether or not the platform is about to disappear when I land on it, as I can't see it to know if the white ring of doom is forming around it.

Amen. I wish all game systems had a Wii remote equivalent. Shooting games are SO much more fun when you can point quickly and accurately. I couldn't play Resident Evil 4 on Gamecube but absolutely loved it on Wii.

RIP GhostRoaster. He's reanimated as TakeYourLemons but occasionally is resurrected from the beyond when needed.
