Here some more pictures of the figurine from different angles and with better lighting - it was quite dark here yesterday when I took the first picture. Also I took a picture of the backside and the bottom of the box, so you can see the countries it was aimed at and the copyright.

very unusual...can you take pic's of your starter pack and post them for us? Like dinoah said ...thats not the normal figures in a SSA Starter pack.

More than likely it's a rebundled starter pack, and not an official Activision product (note the fact Whirlwind's UPC has a generic sticker over it).

I am sorry, but I threw away the Box after I opened it (before I did even know that one figure might be special) as I did not expect it to be important (e.g. for warranty). But it does not look like the starter packs I see on Amazon. It was square and just a cardbox. I am pretty sure it had a copyright by activision on it, but I may be wrong.

And there was no DVD or Blueray included, so it does not seem to be for a specific system. As I do not own a console I did not care (I just liked the figures and it was for free, so...). The portal has a standard USB-connector, I don't know if this can be important to identify the pack (maybe for PC?).

Wish I could give you more info. I will search through the trash when I am back home (currently working), but I am afraid that it has already been brought away.

The three figures shown on the box are Giants versions of Royal Double Trouble, Jet-Vac, and Cynder. Whether or not the special pack comes with additional special variants like a crystal anything, I doubt it.

Has there been any confirmation that this starter pack comes with clear whirlwind and/or red camo? I saw the video, but was unsure if they were part of this pack.

I just wish that they weren't this secretive about the variants. At least they announced the release for the Crystal and GITD S1 figures.

The Figures in this Battlegrounds pack were randomly selected. Could be Warnado, Voodod, Dino-Rang or anything else they had in stock when they packed them. You could buy 100 of these packs and don't get any variant.

It's worth a shot.

I believe the presence of Clear Whirlwind and Red Camo in this video is a way to simply hype them, like they did with Green Rip Tide and Metallic Shroomboom in the Boomcast. By the way, pictures of Metallic Shroomboom in his package are out http://ghostroaster.com/2013/1...lic-shroomboom/

It's all random. You could get a Warnado, Zook, whatever other random figures that are in stock.

Only works with on of the newer LG smart TVs and probably currently only in Germany (an austrian on ebay wrote it wouldn't work in austria).

Is it possible that LG just gets random shipments of skylanders from Activision and just throws in any three skylanders in the pack? So if there were factory prototypes, or future promos, they just get bundled in?

The only way to get it, amigo, is to travel all the way to Mexico and buy an LG TV. The bundle isn't just available in shops.
