When I read the "who is your favorite skylander thread" list I kept seeing her pop up... like a lot
One question I have, and to be clear I am not criticizing but why Ninjini? I see her on so many list and I could never ever use her. Actually she is the only one I have ever taken back to the store cause I played with her while she was still in the box for quite a while... tried the other path to see if it helped and I just couldn't do it
None of the bottle powers were useful... in any way i could see in any gameplay situations i saw or could imagine
Her melee was meh, nothing bad, nothing to write home about. I know it's true for a lot of characters, but melee she didn't do anything anyone else didn't also do. Even another giant had a melee charge up and project an X... if felt like a give up
and orbs, not that great... again I could say this about a ton of characters, but most of them are not on a lot of peoples Best character list
So I have to wonder did they change her a ton in SF? or is there something I am missing? like she is just a cosmetically appealing character or something like that?
And if it is her in game combat use... can someone direct me to a youtube video that best displays this.
I ask in earnest cause I thought on paper she looked like a unique fun giant, and I was disappointed. Curious what I was wrong about here, or just a rational explanation.
Cause if you like her, just because she looks cool... That's really awesome, and I don't disagree. I am just wondering if that is it, or something else that would be of interest for someone like me

Ninjinni is a disappointment but we kept her coz shes the only female Giant. They should have given her moves that were related to what Genies usually have, conjuration, reality bending and such, not that sword wielding non-sense. They didnt give her much thought.

The ninjja genie concept was poorly executed. Shhe's not much of a ninja, and not much of a genie. Stealth Elf's circle of floating blades would have been better on her but then they couldnt repeat themselves. Genies are some of the most powerful beings in mythology and all they could come up with are spheres and rockets that come out of a bottle. How could they have gone ahead with her with such ideas. |

She may lack originality, but there are more than a few Skylanders that suffer from this issue. I still think she is a good character though. My younger sister really liked her. As SkylandCitizen stated, she is the only girl Giant and that is appealing to a wide range of people. =)

People have opinions and people think she is the best.
I think she is the strongest and best giant.

Awesome, but explain please. It doesn't matter to me about cosmetic or background, or being a girl or whatever From a gameplay standpoint what makes her "strongest and best"? I'm genuinely curious For an example of what I'm looking for I'll review my pick for strongest and best giant for pve content Crushet Strong melee, and melee attack that shoots an decent projectile, the combos are decent, and his aoes are actually fairly good. You can move easy so it's easy to place it at a good pace which brings me to the next point Movement, crusher with the rolling rocks is in my opinion the only giant that can move from fight to fight in manageable fashion when compared to their smaller counterparts. And the freeze crowd control... I don't use it often but it is there. Imo there are 3 primary categories for a character Movement Offense Defense And this character has all, and again it's the movement that's most important to me. As there are very few strategic fights being able to move and just be there to attack is most important to me. And in the less just button mash fights it's moving that those fights have you do. If there was a block button or a universal dodge button then movement is all there is... So that's my review from a gameplay standpoint |

Best is purely opinion based.
She is the fastest giant and her attacks do a lot of damage. I am the Swords of Might path.

Poorly executed? Explain the bottle and magic orbs, then. Her Sword attacks do extremely high damage, and lots of kids love characters with a high damage output. She dishes out the pain very fast and finishes off enemies quickly. She's a perfect mix of power and speed.

Hmmm...Interesting topic. I must say that I don't use her a whole lot. That's nothing against her I'm just a Thump Back or Tree Rex guy myself. I do like her though. Her model is cool. Her combat animation (third combo strike I believe) where she spins around with both blades is sick. I like the Magic Orbs but I didn't like the bottle path. I don't think she's invuln. while in the bottle...is she? Which is kind of unfair since characters like Terrafin, Spy Rise and Rubble Rouser have full avoidance move that do damage while not taking any in return. That being said I think I will give her a whirl now in S.F. Gonna try her on Angry Angry Plants on Nightmare...That's my current Judge level in S.F.

Speaking of tree rex... That was my favorite combat skylander in giants but I can't stand to use him in sf... I don't know exactly what it is but I think it's a combination of things
Long levels in sf (which I actually like) just makes his slow movements much more pronounced. Something many skylanders giants or otherwise have fallen pretty to. But beyond that he just feels less powerful. He was always slow but in giants I felt like he had done fortitude. While enemies ran up I'd release a charged shot, little shots while they were still closing the distance, boom aoe melee to kill the weaken ones and hurt the rest then charge through nearby guys otw to ranged enemies and then more shots... The big thing though with him vs others is he seemed to take damage better than most, but in sf I don't feel that mitigation or whatever it was. So now I have shelved him, and his use is by my kiddo that just likes the way he looks. That's why I understand cosmetic favorites. Just if there is a rational well explained reasons for favorites that is what I like to read. I'll make a comprehensive "combat" review thread for the skylanders that are on my "active" roster |

This thread made me feel better..she feels like the weakest Giant to me. She hits hard...compared to non Giants. She moves a decent speed, compared to Giants not named Swarm. Her projectile feels utterly useless compared to just about everyone. Her bottle feels the same way - all she feels like to me is a watered down Thumpback (no pun intended).
And like the OP said, its not like there is anything wrong with liking her, just trying to figure out why there is any real appeal to her to see if "I" am missing something...there have been popular characters that I thought were crud only to find out it was my ignorance. Frankly, outside of 'collection' purposes, I don't think she's been on the portal to actually 'play' Swap Force. - Unreall |

Think about it. Shes a genie. Reality bending, conjuring out of thin air, etc. A genie can grant anything you wish. All they could come up with are orbs and rockets coming out of a bottle. Where did their imagination go? I became really disappointed after i saw what they did with SF characters. Zou Lous move set is more genie-like than hers. Riptides whale attack is another example. How did he produce that big whale? They failed to get that logic bending feel that genies are known for. Its not about her damage output, its her visual appeal and overall design. Ninjinni is a wasted opportunity for a visually stunning character. She's so bland. |

I love Ninjini - it's what puts her a class above Hot Head or Crusher for me.
I hate Crusher - he's so slow that he gets torn to bits in nightmare. |

I'm terrible with Crusher, and it's the truth. I tried him, and for a long time considered him the weakest giant. I always enjoyed Swarm, and never really had an opinion on Ninjini. But here are the pros and cons on her:
Pros Her bottle with bottle rockets (Post better bottles) make her harder to hit and damage is reduced in the first place, and allows way to deal damage while in an ongoing faster mode (Similair to dragon's flying) She attacks way fast compared to most giants (Bouncer beats her, but she's about level with Swarm) Surrealistic spheres can be used like Tree Rex's photosynthesis cannon in it's weakening enemies before they get their. Dazzling Enchantment is awesome. Use it, switch to regular form, and most enemies can't react to you. Cons Lowest giant health second lowest damage from an attack (Finger Bullets) Until you get Bottle Rpckets and the better bottle upgrades, the bottle is useless Surrealistic spheres don't fire as quickly as most other ranged attacks

I enjoyed using her. I think she is my favorite giant. yes she is slow but all of the giants are. As I upgraded her and made her faster, I thought she was amazing.

Ninjini in my my mind is just a infamous skylander that brought nothing new except slowing down time and being talked about often. Her design is bad (in my opinion). She is very slow and cheap. I beat Ninjni 5 times with my Camo. I only see her as the main dish for eBay pirates. Trap Shadow is the same and yes I HATE him. |
