To me it doesn't sound lame. It's no different than many RPG that you stop leveling at some point and you stop having XP, etc.

It's lame that you can't earn all of the stars. RPG or not.

This is why I don't like them not having Heroics in Swap Force. It made less data stay on the figures this year. If anything I keep going back to Giants to do Heroics and then to SSA for the other 5 that are missing.

It's possible that they are doing this to prepare for some kind of new tech. I mean we all know there will be a new technological advancement. Let me show it like this;

SSA:NFC Communications
SG:Lightcores
SSF:Magnetic Communication

I put Lightcores for Giants because bigger figures weren't technological advancements.

If they make it to the point of none of the older stuff works, I think that is when a ton will be done with the series.

I'll give it a go...I think VV has made the challenge a bit more grown up for those who want a challenge. Some of the swap force zones are going to be tough. Have you tried to do the 2nd spin zone without taking damage? Seems like an exercise in futility.

Yeah, I have. Spin are easy. Teleport are the more difficult ones.

I think it is fair to limit the portal rank to 80. It allows to max the rank without having all skylanders (as stars are granted for the collection).

The downside remains that at some point, the game gives no reward for completing your skylander roaster.... and we are back to square one: the real issue is the the loss of the heroic challenges.

Im already 62! Almost there! Although, I would probably need more characters to get higher.....I think.

I could see someday that maybe ssa and giants might not work as they are older stuff. As things grow and if the game grows there might be a point the older stuff has to be let go.

I'm currently 31 and have completed Motleyville. I'm taking a break between chapters and doing swap force challenges, solo survival, bonus maps, upgrade skylanders etc to even out everything. I'd like to keep gameplay even across the board before I finish so there's very little "grinding" on leftovers after game completion.

It's nice to see what you CAN accomplish so you can plan ahead on future missions. Looks like I need earth landers at the end of Twisty Tunnels.
