It's pretty safe to say you don't need to check...as I'm sure the truck fairy isn't coming in between now and then...now having a different pair of eyes to look might be worthwhile...as sometimes something lost is found.

When I asked Woodinville Target, they didn't have any boxes street-dated whatsoever. It's very interesting that some were dated in different locations while others weren't. So even if you ask if they might have them in back, they may not know until they crack a box open. And unless you're an employee or they allow you in back (which I'm pretty sure they're not supposed to do), you'll never get to see this yourself. It's frustrating to think that some stores simply didn't get the information they should have gotten about the 12/29 release. And while the ad was geared towards this, if there wasn't proper communication about it, it wouldn't be known until someone checked and then....oops! The stock of swappers had gotten fairly slim before they set out the new boxes, and so I can see a good reaon why they would have them on the pegs earlier. Add no street date listing or even a company memo and you really can't blame the employees for this.

My Target had no Swappers at all (Wave 1 or 2). I asked the guy at the register to scan the tag to see if they had any in the back and it came up empty. He said that they get a truck in tonight and should have some then. He was not aware of the new ones for Sunday. I may be in the same nexus of the universe as Eggers (but in California) that may not see any this Sunday.

@dinoah2005 For about a week or more I got a no every time I asked about them and if there were any boxes in back. Then suddenly after xmas, BOOM! They were there! So hopefully your case is similar to mine, where they just hadn't had a date or cracked open the box till later. Cross your fingers!

Thank you, I was lucky! I got mine, by having them hold 1 of each. If you call and get them to check the pegs, they may have them at some point, and you can have them hold some under your name till I think the end of the day? Saves in gas at least. And don't forget the fact that they can look a fig up and check other stores too! Even call that store if you ask.

I plan on doing that on Sunday morning since I live 30 minutes from the closest Target (My town does not have a Target) and would hate to get there and they either never got them in or sold out before I get there. The thing is, the next closest Target is an hour and a half away. I would rather wait 1-2 weeks for TRU and hope they have the BOGO 40%.

Ok for those in southern california, temecula had a shipment of about 60 this morning, sold out by noon but murrieta had a few sets of the swappers left at closing.

I agree. My Target has already SOLD OUT of Skylanders that were supposed to be there Sunday. My beef is don't advertise it for a certain date and then just willy nilly put them on the shelves. If that's the case they should advertise it within 24 hours of simply doing it...making it a bit more fair.

Or perhaps lobby to get more boxes sent to their store for an exclusive. 2 boxes per store...really?

At 12 figures per box x 2 boxes x 18,000 stores x $15 nets only 6.5 million...drop in the bucket for a billion dollar franchise. Also a waste of a week exclusive. TRU went online with theirs and had 5x more in stock merchandise per store. Maybe that's a requirement for a store that isn't dedicated for toys but it makes it a poor fit and it looks glaringly obvious.

Outside of Lesty, where has it been advertised that the figures were hitting on 12/29? He never said they would be put out on 12/29 - he just said Target will have them on 12/29. I haven't seen anything online or on their website so, outside of the folks on this board, no one else will be lined up on 12/29. However, most of the folks on this board who know of the "available date" are the ones going out now so they don't miss out. Will people see the ad and be disappointed when they go in only to find these swappers out of stock? Sure. But those will probably be the same folks content with picking them up the following week(s) at TRU or Walmart.

Please know - I am with you on it being a wasted exclusive if they run out of stock (especially if they negotiated for the exclusive) but a) it's post Christmas so there really isn't any rush for the casual gamer and b) to this point, no one is "expecting" to be able to get them on 12/29 except for those people already running around trying to get them (if I recall correctly, even Lesty was trying to score them early.)

On a side note, this has become the norm for Skylanders. I found these boards because I was tired of my kids using their allowance to buy Skylanders off Ebay 2 years ago at overly inflated prices. Because of this board, I was able to use the available information, conjecture or confirmed, to beat the scalpers to the punch. But then scalpers have found these boards too and they are waiting in the lines with the rest of us. Now, as soon as someone gives "confirmation", you have people everywhere badgering employees and getting them to pull stock out of the back, let the customer crack open the box, and then cry, whine and moan when the store's system allows or doesn't allow the product to be sold when it wasn't even supposed to be on the floor to begin with.

While I so enjoy the pleasure my kids get from these little figures and the game, the race to be first, either with confirmation, information, or to have purchased, is getting a tad bit absurd. Next people will be helping unload the FedEx truck just to get a glimpse of the W4 box...

there is a reason for this. skylanders is not as established as other collectable things. the dates of releases are, well to say nicely, crazy. video games, movies, and music has had street dates for as long as theyve been sold. toys however have not been held to such strict standards. hot wheel, barbie, star wars, etc collectors have known that on <insert well established date> the store gets their shipment and will put them on shelves, or on <release date> the store should just sell them without any weird limitations. skylanders is different from this because individual stores have their own release dates, the figures have their own street dates, etc etc, the limitations and variables are ridiculous.

now it is sad that people are whining at employes when the stores are the ones that have the lockouts in their systems. but it should be the employees with the sense/training to say something along the lines of "if it has a date on the box i cant open it or sell it" and not hand the box over so its in the persons hot little hands before being denied the sale. yes i know that takes way too much thought on the employee side, but they are getting paid for a reason.

so blame the stores, not the consumer.

also, i followed UPS trucks to get my figures during the original skylanders spyro adventure. i knew what time gamestop got their UPS deliveries, and thats why i have every figure. including wham shell before most everyone else did. im a collector thats my thing.

i dont remember if i had a point or anything so maybe im just adding to the nonsense of the posts..

Do we think there will be a sale on sunday at target? I want them all, but i try to buy only on sale.

Fortunately, just like Thumpback and Eye-Brawl eventually became commonplace, Stink Bomb and friends will become commonplace someday, too. It's just a matter of when ... it will probably be at least a month, possibly longer.

Nah, it will be much sooner than that. This is a release at just ONE store, in the next couple of weeks TRU will get them, so will Walmart and Best Buy and many others. And it doesn't sound like Target got shorted on stock that much. The scalpers will of course scrape some money off the top, per usual - but then people will figure out, hey these are all over the place.

Most stores were packed with stock prior to Christmas, as late as Christmas Eve. Scalpers depend on shortages to make money past the initial "hey this is new" time period.

I'm glad I didn't wait til Sunday and counted on target not sticking to a release date. I got rouser and spy in Northeast TN yesterday morning. I had to travel to knoxville last night to visit family and ending up finding stink bomb at a target in maryville, TN. They held it for me from about noon until I got there 15 minutes before they closed. It seemed like each target I went to only got one box of the new swappers. They did say they get trucks in almost everyday of the week tho and usually stock the shelves around 10am. Hope this helps anyone in my area.

To me Target will be a disappointment again. I remember when they had a sale back during Giants and the advertised sale showed Thumpback, the problem was that Thumpback was not release for another month. Yes it looks like they do get them but does not look like they will have any when the Advertised sale comes out. Some say that it is the employees fault, but as I see it, when there are multiple release dates on the boxes as reported on this forum, this is a corporate issue. Not having stock when the Advertised Sale comes out has been an issue with Target, not just Skylanders. I hope they prove me wrong tomorrow, but only time will tell.

I called this morning again and the lady told me that they do not have any and that the truck will be in on Monday, I told here that Tomorrows ad has them listed for the new released figures. She said "Oh, They may be in the back but not opened because of the street date. I told here that there was no Specific Street date as reported on this form (Some had no dates on boxes, others had the 15th or the 22nd) and other Targets have been selling them this whole week. She then tells me that it would be on tonight's truck. I asked her " I thought you said that the truck comes in on Monday? Do you get a truck tonight?" She said "Yes". I realized she has NO clue and cut the conversation short. I will call again tomorrow morning before I make a 30 minute drive. I just hope I don't get her (Must be a blonde). j/k.

I was able to get all three figures at Target today.

I found my 4 needed sets at one of my local Targets. Just waiting on my Arkeyan Crossbow and LC wave 3's to come from Amazon.de, to be done with wave 3 in full.

Has anyone seen them in PA yet? Just curious to see if I'm actually going to be able to get these anytime soon based on the info an employee gave me last night.

Food trucks and stock trucks are two different things. Stock only comes in Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Food trucks come everyday for the most part.

Unless it's a Super Target, yes. I work for a regular Target so I don't know what the truck schedule is for Super Targets.

Try waiting for the options and hitting the button for the Electronics section. In my area, the number is 4. Try asking them if they have Skylanders Swap Force figures and mention the 3 newest by name. Make sure to enunciate if possible. Usually, they're willing to check for you. Also, if they're stuck at the desk and can't go check, just come in. Electronics can be really hectic when they have releases/sales. Just don't be afraid to tell them to look it up at another store if they don't have them. They can do this, and they're supposed to do so. Be polite, be clear, and be patient. If you do all those things, it'll go more smoothly. Hope it helps!

Just picked up all 3 wave 3 swappers at target on Power Rd in Mesa, AZ! They had 3 of each and I helped a new kid to get the new ones that was just buying the game for the first time

Stop by a Target while running some errands. Got to electronics and I didn't see any on the pegs but someone stacked up all 3 on one of the lower shelves! Looked around to see if anyone was coming back for them before scooping them up.

I got all three at the target in Diamond Bar, CA. They were the only ones on the shelves.

Made a phone call to my local target tonight because I've been working long hours the past few days and couldn't get out there to pick them up first hand. The guy in electronics was surprisingly helpful. I explained what I was looking for and he said "oh, they're supposed to be released tomorrow? I saw a box in the back and I just stocked them earlier in the week and thought "oh wow, new characters."" Anyway, he said there was a box of 16 in the back and that he would go check if he had all 3 of the guys. He did, and he put them on hold for me to pick up tomorrow morning before I head into work, pretty awesome! I get all 3 and I get them on sale. Sometimes, a phone call with a very nice and patient tone can get you many things in this world.

edit: I'm in PA between Harrisburg and Philly in a little town called Exton. If that helps anyone who might be local, sounds like they will be in stock tomorrow morning, in limited stock.

There's nothing short in supply for this game. Looks like the most people are shelling out is 2x...a far cry from the 4x from the scalper buying them from amazon.it. And I suspect a few will be holding hot potatoes if they don't sell them in a few days.

Is the Sunday ad available online anywhere?

The ad doesn't usually go online until some time after midnight.

By the way, anyone on the fence about the three wave three swappers should get off. In my opinion, all three of them are way better than the four wave two swappers. All three have very cool and creative attacks.

Wish I had checked here on Friday. I was at my local targets on Thursday and they had nothing. Saw on here that they have been putting them out early and went today. I found the last one of RR and SR at one target and the other target had none. I asked if they had any in the back, and the two employees looked on the shelves where I had already looked and told me I should call game stop to put them on hold. When I told the former game stop employee that the local stores say it is against their policy to do that, he replied that it's their business and in their best interest to sell things to customers, so he didn't understand why they wouldn't be helpful ( which I found extremely funny/frustrating, because I was talking to two employees who didn't want to go in the back to look for a Skylander that I wanted to purchase). Neither employee, one of which was a manager and both of which we're working in electronics, had any idea about an exclusive Skylander release. The manager actually told me that if there was something in the back, they might put it out overnight and to come back in the morning to check (keep in mind he had no idea that they will be highlighted in tomorrow's addan, and that they were exclusive wave 3 swappers. Point being, he wasn't protecting a street date or anything). The other employee said that they have no way of telling if they have certain skylanders because the UPC was the same for all of them (I knew this already and knew that it was a polite way of saying "I don't want to do my job and want to finish the conversation I was having with my manager about our past college lives"), and that she wouldn't even know what to look for in the back. The manager agreed. I could have laid it all out in a neat little package for them and told them that if they had a new unopened swapper box in the back that it would have at least one of each of the figures I wanted in it, but I got tired of the bad customer service and the unwillingness to help and smiled and left. I'm not sure if they had already sold out of them, but it didn't look like they had put anything out since Thursday, so I guess I'll waste my gas and go back to see if I can find SB tomorrow morning.

The guy at the other target did go in back and check for me and they had put out all their swappers already.

Sorry for the long post, but it's frustrating when both target employees asked me if they could help me (which for some unknown reason has always irritated me), and only one was really willing to help. Don't ask, if you really don't want to help.

Yes, the Electronic option is 4 but I never get through when I do that so I do Option 0 and get the Service Desk, they always can get through to the Electronic dept. I just ask them to transfer me to them and most of the time they do, but this previous time she could not get through and thought she could answer my questions but she obviously did not know anything about what they had in stock or how they handle stock in the back. she kept back tracking when I questioned the ad/truck/stock.

I did call later tonight and spoke with the Salesman for the phones (In the Electronic Dept.) because their was only one guy at the register and he was helping a customer.
He was not much help either but did clear up the fact that there is no truck until Monday and that there could possible be boxes in the back if it is held for tomorrows ad. I asked if there was anyone there that could check and he said that one guy was on break and the other was helping customers and since he was just the phone rep. he could not find out. I told him Thank You and that I would call in the morning before I drive 30 minutes. Like I stated earlier, besides this store the next one is 90 minutes away and since I see a seller on EBay selling the 3 swappers, I would say that I am too late for that town.

Nothing in Florida...went to two and they didn't know anything about it or had any shipments in the back...got one little disappointed little boy!

I went on Friday to 2 Targets.

East Windsor, NJ - didn't have any out and claimed to know about the ad up front and told me to come back Sunday rather than go in the back and check on stock

Princeton, NJ - had all 3 swappers out for sale - grabbed the last Stink Bomb and there Spy Rises and Rubble Rousers left for sale

Found all 3 swappers at my local Target this morning.

Yesterday, I didn't have much luck finding the swappers. Hopefully on Monday my family would be able to go. I should probably call the Target ahead of time first though, to make sure I'm not sending anyone on a wild goose chase.

I was fortunate enough to find a very helpful employee in the electronics department who tacked down one of each for me.

Holy crap, small world. I live off Pacific ave about a mile down 152nd. I checked both targets on meridian and they had nothing. Maybe I'll have to hit the Lakewood Target today. Did they have a lot when you were there?

Nothing here in Gainesville, FL. The Target employee was very helpful, and scoured the backroom, but says they did not show them as having received any shipment, and he often restocks Skylanders/Infinity, and had not put any of those characters from the Ad on the shelves. I'm supposed to check back Monday by 12pm
