I am wondering why they even bothered with the repose release of Hyper Beam Prism Break. I put him (series 1) in a Survival Mode Battle Arena on nightmare mode and he's too slow/weak/ineffective to survive 3 rounds. I'm lucky if I can even get him past the 2nd round. Are you guys able to do better with him (those of you who actually play on nightmare mode)?

I totally concur. Prism Break is one of the slowest characters despite his brute power.

Pretty much all of the old characters are worse in Swap Force

It looks like one of my favorites got nerfed

In my opinion, Prism Break has always been one of the least effective fighters. I don't know why he always got so much popularity....

He is unique because of his ability to reflect beams off of his crystals

A ton of skill is required to get a Series 1 character very far now that we have Wow Pows. This is why my original character still gets all the important stuff done.

They nerfed him badly I'm also disapointed since he was one of my favorites in giants

Here's all they did.

-His crystals are attack and destroyed by baddies as soon as you summon them

-When the light beam goes through a crystal it does 18 damage instead of the already weak 30 damage

- his beam attack is shorter in duration, shorter in length, harder to aim, and DPS when locked on to a enemy with his laser is slower than before.

-How ever they did add some new thing to help him, if you use your crystal AoE slam ability near a summoned reflection shard, it will shatter shooting a few 10 damage projectiles out randomly (it only works if you do it though so enemies who constantly destroy your summoned reflection crystals won't cause it to happen)

It's made him unplayable in night mare mode I've tried and it takes forever to kill just one enemy kiting him around and dropping crystals on him for 65 damage >.<

Just play his Series 2...It's still O.P. and damn near impossible to beat. To be honest I always found him to be lack luster and too hard to set up for the pay off. His Series 2 Wow Pow is so strong, especially if you get the crystals with some good coverage..=melted screen.

Series 2 Wow Pow is called Pulse Power, and Series 3 is Crystal Comrade.

In my opinion when you get his last upgrade and turn Hyper into red, he gets even worse in Nightmare. His red beams are smaller, do less damage, and his summoned crystals get destroyed immediately. Total waste of a great looking character. I am debating on starting him over and not getting the last upgrade.

Prism Break is one of my most favorite and, I agreed he's been totally destroyed in Swap Force. I agree with all "nerfed" comments made above. I also want to add: lots of times, when you start shooting his beams...they shoot "up" and not at the enemies. He, rarely, shoots straight at the enemies; you have to constantly line him up which leaves him open to attacks.

Why did this happen to one of my most favorites? Please, anyone reading this who can do anything about it: please redeem him for the next game!!!!!!

If only he had a Wow Pow that made the crystal comrades automatically shoot a beam in a 360 degree angle, even though that would be very OP.

I think VV has single handledly killed the repose market for this franchise with how they handled their gameplay. I decided to get the reposes (after saying I wasn't) and I'm basically regretting it with every purchase.

Well they are not forcing anyone to buy these. You don't have to buy them if you don't want to.

The only s3 so far that have gotten better wow pows seem to be Stealth elf, camo, and kinda horn blast whirlwind (still kinda iffy on that one... but it's better than her clouds tossing a projectile one time when spawned)

Actually I think people are very unreasonable about it. If you know the product is coming out and you are still "rushing" to be the first one to buy it just to say it sucks. Wait for someone else to buy it. It's a great debate of are you really buying it or are you just buying it because someone else wants it?

Prism Break is one of (2) characters that got me interested in the series (Thumpback was the other). He's been a favorite from day one - needing a little more skill to excel, but once mastered, he was awesome, he was the 'only' repose I was thinking of getting (I'm debating Whamshell a bit). So hearing this is very uncomforting.

Hey guys---are we saying that all Prism Breaks are broken or only the new one with his new wow pow? Sounds like to me it's the former we are saying but double checking. I haven't had time to analyze game play with all editions of the character.

I started this thread because I was trying to level up a series 1 Prism Break in a battle arena on nightmare mode and found him to be awful...so much so, that I didn't even bother with trying to play my series 2. This thread is about a flawed character in Swap Force and people are discussing weak points of all 3 series, which I don't mind. Personally, I saw Hyper Beam Prism Break staring at me at TRU at 10 PM last night and I couldn't bring myself to buy him...maybe if a buy 1 get 1 free sale rolls around.

Haven't tried that specific scenario but I'll try it and let you know.

I'm not sure what the problem is...Prism Break still looks powerful...

Please qualify this. How jacked up is S1 vs S2 or S3? The video shows that some attacks to less damage, but he seems potent still to me. The wow pow seems marginal...not too many I'm doing backflips over.

I never realized how vulnerable he is when doing his surrounding crystal attack and summoning the crystals out of the air (forget the attack names) He's also a little awkward to control now since "X" (on PS3) is jump and not an attack.

My only skylander that was close to finishing angry angry plants on nightmare mode was my polar whirlwind but prism break did good and bad at the same time

Yeah, has anyone done and won the quest: do a non-story level and take no damage? I find it impossible with Prism Break. I've tried and tried. If anyone's succeeded, let me know.

I play with series 2 Prism Break. He is DEFINITELY not as strong or easy to play as he previously was. In one bonus mission, 3 Greebles come running toward him, so I shoot, and his crystal beam starts shooting upward. I mean, what could he possibly be shooting at?

Man that was interesting. All of the Melee Skylanders have a huge problem with Angry Angry Plants. I did finish it with lvl 11 Series 1 Flame Slinger and lvl 10 Series 1 Camo. I tried a few others but Prism Break and Wham Shell both suffer from vulnerability while setting up their moves. They actually have to stop and use their abilities. I'm not sure why V.V. thought this was a good idea but it kind of sucks.

Actually no, Polar is better than a Series 2 Whirlwind, she has higher stats.

I tried angry angry plants with my golden guns path s1 trigger happy on nightmare mode and I failed

In this match I was not so lucky xD

It's not so much a button mash as it is the need to stand still to attack. If you train the baddies in a circle while hitting the pods they eventually go away but you need to keep moving. I'm sure it can be done but it's going to take more work....maybe armor treasures and a speed hat?

Grimm Creeper is a great character, put just plain simple in Swap Force.

His attack animation is really simple, and there no combo's.
