Well that's kind of a silly reason; of course they're gonna meet strangers. Anyone who plays online plays with strangers unless you play with someone directly from your friend's list.
They easily have a few options they could roll with:
-Online play with voice chat (you can either turn it on or off): This would allow everyone who's been asking about it since the first game came out to experience play with other people. With voice chat, you could direct them to do something, and without you wouldn't hear them and they wouldn't hear you. Alternatively, they could have a bunch of premade phrases like Universe had.
-Online play with no voice chat: Simple really. No talking to anyone, no one gets hurt or possibly talked to by a predator.
-Online play with friends only (Voice chat an option too): This would ensure that the person is more familiar to the player. They'd also have the voice chat option but not necessary either.
There's no real reason to not have online capabilities either in this day and age. Especially considering that the Wii U, 360, Xbone, PS3 and PS4 all have great online options in tons of other games. And yes it still kind of annoys me that Super Mario 3D World has no online play.
But Skylanders? That's a game that was almost designed to play with other players. Especially things like the battle arena.
Quote: GhostRoaster Has anyone been able to skip this in ANY version of the game? VV, I expected more than this.
I'm playing Wii U version, occasionally when starting the game or returning to Woodburrow from a level, a "Press X to skip" will appear when I mash the A button like its telling me that my caveman antics aren't going to make that dumb fox talk faster.
This is also one of my qualms with the game. Every single time you go back that dialogue is there. I don't think it's necessary either, they could have just had him say it when you talk to him.
