I found this site a few days ago when looking for release dates. My kids (and I .. don't tell anyone ) started with Giants and we recently got Swap Force. I don't think we will be "collectors" but want to be able to get the figures that we want. For example, I know we want Stink Bomb and Rubble Rowser. What things do you all do to make sure you get them? Do you call the stores every day, check here? I just don't want to miss out on these figures. I see where you can "pre order" them from places like eBay at a steep price tag. Any advice would be appreciated.

I check frequently online for release schedules/sightings and then stop in stores frequently.

The cheapest/best way is to monitor this web site for when the various waves come out. You'll know what's coming out and when it's out...that is more than being armed to ensure you get what you need. Main characters you will not have to worry much, but if your want list includes variants that may be store exclusives etc you'll have to be more alert.

Couple that with sales, and you'll be a certified winner!

Honestly, its not that serious.

It's something you'd only need to check on once every couple of weeks at best, as well if you are NOT a collector, then Activision is trying HARD to keep everything in store. Yes when Wave 2 first dropped at TRU it was limited quantities for a while, but if you go now, the shelves are LITTERED with Wave 2 and Legendaries.

So its not too serious, you don't have to worry about 'z0mg its going to sell out', they will get more and more on the shelves to the point that they will have a massive sale AFTER the new years to clear/reduce inventory.

Battle pack and Adventure packs. At least, the two that are out now, I had them pre-ordered. I'm not sure about the 'Triple Packs' thou.

As far as the two yet to be released, I've been unable to pre-order them due to the lack of a street date.

My Gamestop says they have nothing at this time for preorder. They claim to not know anything about the new "jolly" character that Gamestop sent me an email about ....

Many store employees and even managers don't have a clue unless they're into Skylanders themselves.

Game stop corporate didn't inform their store managers about this weekend at all by Monday. I showed my local GS manager the website showing the Play Day, and he had no idea.

One time I had a TRU manager tell me that they didn't have an item in stock because she assumed the legendary giants pack would be displayed with the other Giants packs. I thanked her for her time then walked to the shelf she dismissed ("There's no Giant stuff over there" she said.), plucked the item I wanted off the shelf, and bought it.

To get the characters you want, I recommend first figure out what you want/need, search online for stores that carry them, and then happy hunting! If you want older characters and don't mind used, I also recommend monitoring eBay periodically.
