Well, it probably had a street date.

You need them to complete the game. He unlocks an exclusive hat.

That date is Dec. 8. Hit a TRU this morning and they had 12 on the pegs.. Gave it a shot... It was worth the try. They tagged it for me and put it in the back. Since they accidentally put it out.
He looks pretty cool.

Found Jolly on shelves at two different TRUs in North Carolina yesterday. Shot down at the register and given a street date of Dec. 10th. An employee in the electronics department said they had no street date instructions with the cases, but it is in the computer. Odd that their date is the 10th and Gamestop is the 7th...

Nope, never really left. I'm lurking from time to time, but never want to log in because trouble usually finds me...
Just thought I'd share that tidbit of info so everyone finding them at TRU for the next few days won't get their hopes up. You'd think they would street-date the box if the product is dated in the system, right?

Do we know if TRU is the only store that will sell it? I heard others will but don't know which.

TRU I believe is the first to sell it. If I'm remembering right, Gamestop will have it on the 7th, and Best Buy will have it on the 8th. I'd assume the other stores like Walmart and Target will also have them around that time.

Toys R Us boxes are usually streetdated, but most employees don't essentially give a rats behind about streetdates and put it out.

I not only found it at the San Rafael, CA TRU but a manager overrode the register lock and let us buy it. They did pull them all from the shelves afterwards as they can't sell it until 12/8.

Street dates being different probably means they have planned ads that contain the figure and the date. It isn't always for competitive advantage.

I find a street date policy for figures to be odd. Actually, scratch that. I find figure street dates to be frustrating when Toys R Us employees put them on the shelves early, call the manager when I'm trying to check out, and then deny me the opportunity to purchase one. I have since learned my lesson with legendary Zoo Lou, and didn't even bother to try to purchase legendary Night Shift & Dino Rang when the local employees put them on the shelves early.

I understand and agree/comply with street dates for software/movies/music, but it feels a bit heavy handed when it comes to figures.

The problem is that if they accidently sell them early, but then when the day they are advertised (Email/Ad) in stock and don't have them, they will have more than 1 or 2 upset customers, try 15-20 or possibly more depending on the location of the store. Remember the store usually gets 2-3 boxes if lucky and may not get any more in until the following week, if not longer.
