So I was looking through the topics asking which characters people like best, and I noticed there was barely any mention of Magna Charge. I was stunned. Magna Charge is the best character (that I've played with) for all modes. Score Attack, Time Attack, Story Mode, Bonus Missions, you name it! He is a fast and powerful Skylander that rips and tears through everything in his path. Evilized enemies are a joke, other Skylanders don't stand a chance, and even bosses are shredded like tissue paper. I'm telling you guys: If you don't have Magna Charge yet, GET HIM. He is an outstanding Skylander.
Post if you want specific details!

He really is, he's perfect for all modes! Spectacular design, very VERY powerful, and of course, fast as hell! My only gripe? His voice, it just doesn't fit the character, I expected something similar to Bouncer's voice (I'd give Bouncer his old is old voice heard at E3 2012 and give Bouncer's new voice for Magna Charge.)

Magna charge is my third fav skylander. I am surprised by his voice but since he if voiced by either David Kaye or Gregg Berger. I respect it. (For those who dont know, David Kaye voiced Megatron in Transformers Beast Wars and Optimus Prime in Transformers animated. Yesssss. While Gregg Berger played G1 Grimlock, i'm a big Transformers nut.)

Well well someone didn't play Bumble Blast yet. Now that's the most powerful(well, besides Giants S2 Hex...).
I'm also confused at the lack of him being mentioned, though. He's... Surprisingly strong? Is it just because everyone thinks that Freeze Blade is cooler and is waiting for him? (Can't blame though, I really want Freeze Blade right now, and I like him more than Charge and I like Rise better than Buckler... ...) I'm not really a fan of just gunning everything down as it makes the game boring but I do think it's a lot of fun to use his magnet abilities. Dragging around enemies is a lot more enjoyable than I imagined it would be. In PVP, he's very tough, but he's really vanilla. Kinda like SA Medea Griffin Sonic Boom. I dunno if that's good in his case or not. I haven't really used him much in battle mode. He's not my favourite new Skylander but he grew on me more as I upgraded him and I like him overall.

I am interested to know why you think Magna Charge is so good. I haven't brought SW yet but I have completed S:SA and Giants with a single Stealth Elf (by completed I mean played through every chapter and defeated Kaos, not opened every elemental area).
I love Stealth Elf because not only are her attacks fast and both paths equally sensational, but she goes invisible to slip behind enemies and if she cops too much damage just hide somewhere while she heals herself. From what I've read she is unfortunately nowhere near as good in SW, but I would love to know what makes Magna Charge so good. |

Magna Charge's strategy is simple. Grab an enemy with the top magnet, grab one with the bottom magnet, throw the bottom enemy, slam the top enemy on the bottom enemy, and shoot 'em down.
Most useful in Arena. I play a lot of Arena.

@HeyItsHotDog Magna Charge is voiced by Greg Ellis.
@kaosmumishot Why? Well, first of all, his Magnet Cannon fires extremely fast and racks up damage very quickly. When fully upgraded down the Magnetic Arnaments path and Soul Gem, it can fire three shots at once, do extra damage after a short amount of time, and unleash a charge shot that does heavy damage. His magnetic abilities also make him even more broken. He can pick up or drag enemies even if they are shielded or invulnerable, and can shoot them at other enemies, blast forward and shoot the enemies backwards, or even throw them off the edge of a platform for quick and easy kills. On top of that, his second attack also makes him very fast. Want some more proof? I earned 3 stars on the five major bosses in Time Attack mode as well as all of the Solo Survival arena challenges just by using him. When you get SSF, make sure you get this guy first. Also, Stealth Elf is still good in Swap Force. Her new Wow-Pow is awesome!

I love his magnet ability, when he picks up a object and has his magnet on all coins/money/exp are dragged to him from everywhere on the screen.
and his ability to make spinners and other invulnerable enemies drop there guard is nice too I think free ranger does that better though with his spin...

Magna Charge have only one fault.... he was designed to be a light-core. but he cant be one because he is a swapper, and the magnets dont let the light through. sad facts but true.

Wow, wasn't expecting this topic to get so many posts!
To answer all of your questions: 1. I haven't yet played with Star Strike, Fire Kraken, Pop Thorn, Hoot Loop, Night Shift, or Magna Shift. 2. For his top half, he is on the Magnetic Arnaments path, and his bottom is on the Drag Racer path. He is fully upgraded and maxed out at level 20 I also put the Asteroid Hat on him to give him +60 health. I primarily play on Medium difficulty, but I'll try running through Nightmare and see how that works. Also a couple of things I forgot to mention: 1. His magnet sucks in Gold, food, and power ups while active. 2. I only have Nitro Magna Charge, and I think he looks awesome. Jade Fire Kraken wins my award for ugliest variant. No offence, guys. Keep on posting.

I haven't played much/leveled up Magna Charge that much, but he's got one of my all time favorite game exploits: Throwing enemies off the map.
I absolutely ADORED this in the old Spyro games where you could charge and enemy and knock them back. I believe in the first Legend of Spyro game there was this big snow area with a ton of enemies and I'd just push them all off the side. Magna Charge makes this fun too, as you can kind of pull and fling them around like rag dolls. It's a neat feature that I hope we can see more characters take advantage of in the future. Only thing I don't like (and maybe its me) is the jumping with him. I had a heck of a time on on of the earlier Tech zones where you jump on rising and falling gears and it felt like Magna would just keep rolling instead of staying still when he landed.

He isn't the best that is for sure but he is ok I guess (Free Ranger rivals him for best bottom ever)

So I tried (Nitro) Magna Charge on Nightmare mode vs. Super Evil Kaos the other night.
He's not as good as in the other difficulties, but he's still pretty decent. The trick is to not get greedy when attacking foes. Land a few hits on them, then dodge their attack before continuing. He got killed during the second phase when Kaos threw in the Air and Tech Geargolems. (I hate those two so much.)

^ I haven't tried it yet, but I honestly think MA would be nearly useless for Nightmare. You don't get many chances to hold the cannon long enough for it to overheat for it to really be useful. BP on the other hand gives you the option to knock back enemies in a wider range than Charge's magnetism, with more power. I can see how it would be more useful for lower difficulties, but in Nightmare mode keeping enemies unable to attack the way BP does [seemingly] better is pretty darn useful.

^He is talking about Magna Charge's Magnet Tuner path upgrade, Burst Pickup, which knocks enemies back when using MC's magnet head. It does sound useful, but remember that doesn't work on large enemies.

@BlazeHeatnix Though if there's no enemy to pick up, he picks up a random object anyway. I think it's actually quite decent as an attack on its own- if you let it "charge up", down BP tossing one will do 100 damage. Keeping that item and then tossing it would let you jump around, and it's more fun than just spamming the cannon anyway imo. Having fun is what matters, not just power(though if more power is more fun to you, well then... More power to you, punintended ).
