Swap Force for Xbox One will not load. Help! [CLOSED]

I just purchased a copy of Skylanders Swap Force for my new XBox One and ran the initial install, however, once the game starts up it will only make it as far as the screen which says "this game has an autosave feature" and then it sits there and spins forever. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game three times and have still had no luck. I even exchanged my game at Wal-Mart this morning to make sure that I didn't get a bad disc, but it still isn't loading. All of my other games work perfectly, so I don't believe that its an issue with my console, but I can't find a single instance of this happening with anyone else.

Activision Support is closed until Monday, so I was really hoping that someone here could help.

Thanks

Ha! Looks like the wii version isn't the worst!!!!

Back on topic:

Wow that is weird. If it still doesn't work by the end of the day I suggest you return it and get it for a different console.

Yeah, well I originally had it for Wii U...but I traded in the Wii U (since I only had one game for it, NSMBU) to pay for some XBOX ONE games and accessories. I suppose I could exchange it for the PS3 or 360 version, but I've heard the the next-gen visuals are really amazing and I'd like to get the full experience.

Wait, you have to install games onto your Xbox One?
Ouch.

Yeah, all games have a mandatory install...though it still takes up less space than if you downloaded the entire game.

hmmm. my xbox one didn't have any issues with the install for it. I knew it would take a while so I just put the disc in, got to where it was installing and walked away to do other chores. I came back later and it was good to go.

Well the install finished, but its freezing on the second screen once the game loads. I was worried that it was a problem with my system, but all of my other games are working fine. Its extremely frustrating.

Ok, so I got it fixed. Apparently the first disc was bad, or the install data was corrupted. I uninstalled the game, unplugged the system for a few minutes to clear the cache and allow it to completely reboot, and now everything is working great.

Glad to hear...

There are some reported drive issues so it's also possible that could be going on as well...

And to be fair, launch day for PS4 buyers has reported HDMI and overheating problems.

You would think with the amount of money to pay for the consoles and games that there wouldn't be problems like this.

It happens, I haven't experienced any problems with the game at all. I haven't tried it on the Wii or Wii U yet tho.

Ugh...don't remind me, lol. From what I can tell, those systems were making grinding noises and wouldn't play any discs right out of the box (I haven't heard of any that have gradually degraded). My other two games have always worked perfectly, so I'm crossing my fingers that it was only a bad disc.

He'll love it. The screenshots and comparison videos online really don't do the next-gen versions justice. The textures are so much better, and everything looks smooth, bright, and super detailed (you can see stitching patterns on the greebles clothes now). Its really like you're playing through a CGI movie. The gameplay doesn't change at all, but the visuals are amazing.

There's always "tweaking" needed. The HDMI problem on PS4 is incredibly simple to solve...goes to show how much precision has to go into producing these things. Still, as a consumer...I wouldn't put up with it...so that's why I always wait 6 mos-1 yr before I even sniff at a new console.

That's a wise decision that I follow as well. Actually I almost wait to 50% through the console lifecycle. Usually by that time there might be some price adjustments as well.

I sort of stalk Kotaku to see reports of issues with the new consoles until I see almost none. I really don't feel like exchanging parcels with Sony/Microsoft until I have a functional console. Anyway, I just upgraded my PC so it's almost useless for me to buy something else for a while.

That was my plan initially as I regretted buying the early xbox 360 as it was crazy loud. However, Game Stop had a Sunday +90% credit (+another 10% for power up members) trade in deal so I decided to take advantage of that. The credit is for next gen consoles so I went ahead with it.
