The coupons printed on the inside of the bag seem to not scan. Those printed on the cards do scan. Same Walmart, used the inside the bag one a while back and they had to key it in. The card ones scanned in just fine.

If you have the one printed on the inside of the bag you will probably have to have them type it in. If it doesn't scan, some employees might not want to take it thinking it is invalid - and probably have to have a manager override.

Got my Wii U version tonight. The game is awesome. I can't understand the complaints. Such a step up from Giants!

For anyone still (?) wondering, you should have no issue applying the $10 coupon to the $37 game.

I've noticed that the copies at Walmart have a sticker that says $20 in savings inside. Anyone know that they are? I figured they were just coupons for other items (possibly other Skylanders items). I'll probably hold out and go to TRU on Black Friday in order to use a rewards gift card, plus hopefully get in on some gift card promotions. It's possible I can get up to $20 in GCs, if I play it right. Plus I want to go and pick up a couple of Skylanders on sale (mostly, and hopefully, Legendaries), which should get me to the mark I need.

I thought about going ahead and buying it at Walmart, now, just in case I don't make it to TRU (especially since my family has now decided to have Thanksgiving at 5:00 instead of earlier in the afternoon like I thought we might do) and returning it if I do make it. But I don't want to have to mess with returns with coupons.

I picked up a copy of the 3DS version this morning at my local walmart. $29.59 out the door after the Skylander coupon which scanned with no issues. Looks like they placed a fresh barcode over all the boxes at my store to enable the sale price to go through. Now all I gotta do is return my single Free Ranger back to TRU and it will have cost me less than $20!..bargain. Looks likes I'll have a dupe Rattle Shake though thanks to the dumb twin packaging from Target for the Nitro Magna Charge.

Amazon is the way to go online if you want to get in on the Gold Box deal before they sell out. For those with the Frito Lay coupons, Target should have the $37 price as well as their website already shows the reduced price...since most people will be headed to Walmart, you might be able to beat the crowds at Target. These matching deals certainly put a big dent in the Black Friday sales of TRU for at least these Skylanders starter packs.

It's all just retailers scrambling to outdo each other. Walmart has their Black Friday ad with the price of $37 for the starter pack. Some genius from Walmart decides it should be an item they should release about a week early to beat out the competitors and get some foot traffic in the stores. Then along comes Target behind the scenes to match the price to combat the Walmart sale. Neither retailer is bright enough to offer it and have it available on their online site for purchase, so Amazon swoops in and does a match to outdo both of them...it sure beats dealing with crowds in stores and having to deal with out of stock issues.

yep no probs getting the 3ds version for 27 bucks though i have a legendary free ranger and i'll be getting a quick draw in the mail for myself along with the 3 others for siblings. I actually like the fact of the whole week early specials because then I really don't have to do black friday shopping. There's no special variant this year for swap force in the ads at any of the stores and the whole deal for infinity and possibly 3ds version was the only reason to even tread there for me. So in the end not really much i'll have to do for that this year.

I only have a handful of games to pickup (TMNT and Phineas & Ferb for xbox), that I was hoping would be part of WM's sale. Fortunately, the deals I'm looking at aren't doorbusters, so I won't have to run out of dinner early. Also, for you xbox folks, Target is having 3 months of live for $10 during their BF sale. I don't know if anyone if willing to price match that.

The managers said that some bought 2 or 3 of the same system, and that it would take a week to refill. Just in time for the sale to be over... Weeeeee....

In one of my Walmarts there was a display full of Wii Starters and even that crappy version was gone. I'm actually a bit surprised. This was as of 10am THE MORNING of the sale. Pffft. I guess I can go retro with the 2600 or Genesis this year

Actually GR I'm not as much interested in the empty shelf there but the fact in that picture there's a classic genesis console on the shelf above the emptiness. I was looking forward to maybe seeing an xbox one version of the game, possibly for my younger brother but i got him the dark edition for 360 that he has right now.

The Sonic Genesis Collection for PS3/360 is an excellent option if you like old Genesis games. It's pretty cheap, has tons of games (including many of the best) as well as a few arcade games to boot. The emulation is good, except on the arcade games where it is good except for sound is a bit off. Honestly though, many of those old games aren't nearly as good as we remember (only Sonic, Columns, Shinobi and Streets of Rage really hold up). Vectorman used to be really cool, but it REALLY hasn't aged well give the hook was the cool graphics tricks. I actually used to prefer the Genesis back in the day, but I find SNES games much easier to go back and play (I have lots of VC games on my WiiU). Many of my favorite Genesis games were arcade ports, and these days you can just play an emulated version of the actual arcade version (Capcom Classics Collection) and not an emulated version of a downgraded port of an arcade game.

Just a heads up for anyone living in Wisconsin this sale is not valid. I went to three different Walmarts today and recieved the same answer. I was told that there is a law in Wisconsin that does not allow Walmart to sell any item at below cost. I guess that $37 is just below their cost because I asked how they would be able to sell it for $38.96 on Black Friday and the manager told me that price was just above their cost. After being told this I looked at the bottom of the ad and did notice that it states prices not valid in Wisconsin.
Fortunately I was able to go to Toys R Us and they price matched the Walmart ad and accepted the $10 Frito Lay coupon. This will save me from having to go to Toys R Us on Thanksgiving day.

You do know that availability varies from store to store in different parts of the country, so not sure why you're telling people to hang it up. If you don't find what you want at Walmart, go price match at Target or Best Buy or TRU. The $37 price is listed at both Walmart.com and Target.com at this time. It was $37 on Amazon this morning as a lightning deal (there's currently a lightning deal for Disney Infinity at $37). I like all the Enchanted Hoot Loops in your picture...I'm sure scalpers who bought them up early on are all hitting themselves over the head for the failed investment...plenty to go around right now for all collectors.

Had a couple at the checkout with TWO shopping carts loaded with Swap Force and Infinity games this morning at my Walmart. I was very happy that the manager stood by the registers and enforced the 'two copies' per person rule. Because of this, I was able to get the two versions I wanted. The couple had basically wiped the shelves clean, and were pissed that they couldn't buy it all. For once, I had a great experience at my Walmart.

Success! I went to get Disney Infinity for myself, and I was texting with my mom who was out to get Swap Force. Plenty of stock for both games where I was - there didn't seem to be anyone else there for the pre-Black Friday deals, which was surprising but totally welcome. My mom said it was similar where she was - only one other person going for the games. As weird as it is to watch, I'm quite happy with all the retailers one-upping each other like this this year. Saves me from having to go out at all on Thanksgiving/Black Friday!

There is a lot of SwapForce starter packs in 3 Walmarts in my area at $37 price tag - no one cares - it seems that SwapForce has already reached saturation point. I bought PS4 version. Surprisingly I was unable to find Disney Infinity for Wii U this morning in 3 Walmarts in my area. Actually there were nothing on the shelves except only 3DS versions - all other platforms were sold out already at 10:00am PST.
So I went to BestBuy - they price match their local competitors. Got Wreck-it-Ralph and Disney Infinity for Wii U. Ready for Christmas

Conversely, my manager not only allowed it but made sure their pissed off customers knew that someone basically wiped them out.

I'd like to thank those of you on this website who gave out the information that got me a great deal today. So my Dark Edition portal sucks at life and I got really tired of needing to rescue toys that became broken because my portal kept forgetting that I was using a character on it. So I really wanted to buy a regular edition for the 360, if for no other reason than to have a working portal. I refused to pay full price, so I figured I'd wait until a sale hit. I read about the Wal Mart one and so I went after work. Tried 2 Wal Marts around here and came up empty handed. I gave up and came home, hoping maybe I could order it on the website for the sale price but found nothing yet again.

I looked at the website and saw the $37 sale was sold out, but it said I had stock at my store. I drove there and found they had every system sitting there, but no sign for the $37 sale. Their only in store sale was buying the game and getting a free figure with it. So I took a 360 edition to the electronics counter and asked if the sale I saw online was in the store to. He told me to go to customer service and they'd price match their online price for me. Sure enough, they did that AND gave me the in store sale with a free figure! So I'd say the Target sale is even better than Wal Marts! For the $27 (with coupon) I got the game plus a free figure! Suck it, empty Wal Mart shelves! Anyone who can still take advantage of the Target sale, do it!

I'm gonna grab a copy for the PS4 to stash away for the future, with the Frito-Lay coupon this is an awesome deal! Fortunately my local Target has some of every system in stock, shame there isn't a $10 off coupon for Infinity as well (I'd grab it for 3DS)

I came up to Chicago tonight for a Zelda Symphony (my third - simply amazing!) and stopped at a Walmart in Kankakee. They had TONS of the starter packs, on all systems (although I don't recall seeing XBox One...).

I came into work this morning completely forgetting this promo was happening.

We started with I believe 12 or 13 of them for the Wii.

We sold every last one of them. I noticed in the ad they were doing the price slash already (Manager gave me a quick chat about how the prices were already locked in the system, and we didn't need to override the prices at all...and other people were overriding on the wrong items anyways...nothing new there).

Before heading to lunch I had one of the electronics guys check stock. 9 left for Wii, all in the backroom. I asked him to bring them all out to electronics, knowing they would disappear.

I've noticed that if the store(s) in question aren't finicky about stock information, you may be able to do a stock check online for stores in your area. Call ahead and ask electronics to hold it with a name. Stores can hold an item at least until the end of the day. If the associate on the line gives you lip about it, hang up and call the service desk, and have them make an associate bring one up there to hold (with your name...very important).

We sold out last in our area, at like 2 or 3 in the afternoon, and boy they sure did liquidate. Luck strikes again, as I sit here with a copy for the Wii and the last set of starter characters I needed to fill in the gaps with.

Don't lose hope as there is a good chance this promo may continue running when the stores get more stock in.

Just really don't give up on this. Remember it's in the Thursday event ad as well, so most, if not all stores, will be getting more stock (We already have more on order...no suprise really).

tbh I think we still have some for all the other consoles (PS4 & Xbox One of course, but I believe PS3 & 360 as well). It couldn't be ordered online, so people had to come into the store to get it (good call, as I was just going to pick up today the item on my lunch).


Of course, now that I have this, the only reason for going in Thursday afternoon is for the RCA Tablet...I love sitting in lines for 4+ hours just to guarantee an item...Not that I didn't for Giants last year...

P.S.: And again after reading nonresponsive's experience this morning I'm still glad to be in an area that doesn't have to deal with scalper & hoarder issues, even if our stock is slower than .com

I'm not sure if it was in an ad. When I walked in, there were tags on the shelf for getting a 9.99 character for free with the purchase of the swap force starter (I believe the 9.99 character had to be a swap force one). With the price match to their online sale plus the free character that they still honored for their in store promotion, it was a good deal. I'll have to look and see if they had an ad for the free figure around here.

Edit: checked the online ad for this week, didn't see anything about a free character in it. Nothing about Skylanders at all. So it'd be worth going into your store and seeing if they have the same sale tags up.

There was no ad. Employees werent even aware. They sent me to guest service to do the price match. In the end they took the ad from Walmart in order to give me the sale. They did not give me the free figure for buying the Xbox one stsrter but they did give me one for the PS3 starter. Only 9.99 figures were accepted......Good deal if you ask me

Yeah, because you are essentially getting them to price match a price match. Our area's Walmarts got hit hard. I think a scalper got wind of it and went store to store, glad I found out about the early sale on Thursday. I'd be fairly certain they will restock for the actual Black Friday though, Walmart usually makes sure they have good stock for their sales (and they get hit HARD on BF). With all the great deals on Swap Force (even if you do have to settle for the $49.99 sale at other stores, I just don't see where you can find the margins to make it worthwhile flip/scalp the game.

I went to Target and picked up the last copy for Xbox 360. They did the price match and let me have the free figure. I used the $10 coupon and the $5 Target coupon. I know the $5 coupon says "excludes starter sets", but other people were getting it to work, and in the toy book it actually gives the price of the starter set "after coupon". So I'm not sure what their real intentions were, but I figured it was worth a shot. It was programmed to take it, so who knows? I also saw people posting about using their free lightcore hex coupon from the pre-order. I tried to find mine, but I don't remember where I put it . But I still got a good deal. I walked away paying $22 and some change for the game and one core Skylander. Can't complain too much.

I wonder how long the free figure was supposed to last. The price is still $37 and I have another $10 coupon and can print out another $5 coupon. My in-laws said something about getting our son a DS, but they weren't sure if they got him a 3DS or a regular DS. If they got him the 3DS, then I wouldn't mind picking up a copy of Swap Force for 3DS. It would be worth it just for the figures, although I expect a Quickdraw Rattle Shake and hoping to get a Legendary Free Ranger, and I'm not worried about getting the different versions, so I don't want to get it just for the figures.

I found what I needed at Target and they did the price match etc although they were being kinda tough guy about it. Apparently it was blowing their mind that it could be 50% off.
