Favourites:
Summer Forest - Idol Springs: I love the overall atmosphere to this level, and I enjoy the soundtrack that comes along with it, it fits nicely. I love all of the orb challenges, and just the overall flow of the level. It's also got some great colours and vibes to make it feel real. It's just a great level.
Autumn Plains - Breeze Harbor: Another great atmospheric level, great use of colours and textures. I love how you end of at the ship, very memorable. Althought the Trouble with the Trolley, eh challenge can be a bit annoying, at the same time, it offers that challenge of patience and planning what to do next. It's fun and satisfying destroying those mine rock faces, breezemines? I can't remember the name of them. Music is great too.
Winter Tundra - Metropolis: I love the futuristic feel that they brought to the Spyro series, it's like a prototype level of Ratchet & Clank. Great soundtrack, I love how the robots talk, great awesome challenge at the end of the level, it's so satisfying taking down those flying sheep saucers. And the Ox challenge I find is incredibly weird, but unique in it's own right. The fodder is really unusual too.
Least Favourites:
Summer Forest - Aquaria Towers: As much as I love the swimming mechanic in the Spyro games, they seem to be the best out of all the video games that I've played, I don't really like too much of it, and in the end, this whole level basically becomes underwater, and as cool as that may sound, after a while of completing orb challenges, and going back through the level to finish off the sharks and get more gems, it can feel a bit tedious dealing with underwater for so long, and the soundtrack suits it but I find it to be a little dull at times, yet again, the level has this futuristic vibe to it which I do like. This just isn't one of my strong levels for me.
Autumn Plains - Crystal Glacier: It gives me a full up feeling just thinking of the level, the only good thing that it has going for it is George the Leopard. Not too fond of the soundtrack, I think there's way too much ice everywhere, and the textures feel a bit over-used, it's just a "meh" level to me, and the Draclet challenge is a bit boring in my opinion, it doesn't feel satisfying at all. And the end to the level is underwhelming to me as well, it would have been better if we had to supercharge into the door to let him out, and not watch this long cutscene off these goons making a slow rollerball come down. Although I suppose there is a funny side to it when he says "Ow, you think those guys could have gotten me out without rolling a two tonne snowball onto my head!"
Winter Tundra - Mystic Marsh: I don't like how you randomly get these little mini boss battles thoughout the whole level, I just find it to be annoying and an interruption to the gameplay. It really makes no sense why they did this as you don't get this in any other level. I think it's just a cheap way to make you lose health a lot quicker than normally. I think they should have made him an orb challenge in another part of the level, you know, like the Ox in Metropolis. I think it would be a lot fair that way. I don't think this level does very well in terms of indoor design, I think it makes it a bit too straightforward, and sort of took the exploring away. The challenges are pretty annoying to go through, trying to catch those trolls in ice at the right moment is a pain, and Agent Zero, feels like a times waster.
There you have it fellow Spyro fans.
Goonro to you all.
