I apologize if it's against the rules to reference other sites, but over at Ghostroaster a couple of us figured out that Zach is holding what appears to be a metallic Shroomboom special figure that's not been seen or announced before. since skylander boy and girl was on the show skylander dad does customs so they may have given him a custom one since it is out of the box

Skylanderdad didn't repaint that...(hes not that good)..thats the same Iridescent Gold paint that was used on Wii U's bundle Wash Buckler....thats a factory figure. Doing that type of paint is a bit tricky. Sure wish he would talk about the figures he's holding at the start of his video's.

It's basically being done to generate hype so people start looking through the older Giants figs for him. It's still idiotic to release new chase variants for the older games, but I digress. Just that much harder to have a complete set.

Problem is, these are going to end up rarer than normal. Giants figures are going to be a harder sell because the die-hards already have them, meaning that boxes of the toys will instead sit in stockrooms, if the stores get any.

In other words...yeah scalpers are going to be the best bet to get all the variants. I'm waiting for the market crash, call me when it happens. @_@

I actually think shroomboom looks neat, Idk why just when he came out I liked him. Then again I thought boomer and voodood were cool too and ppl hated them lol

I want to see it! Shroomboom is my favorite from Giants. I don't like all the hate there is for him.

Let's see, there were less battle packs than adventure packs, his LC and Singles were NOT common, and as you said, his triple was never seen.
Overall, he wasn't nearly as common as the adventure packs, Ghost Roaster, Slam Bam, Sunburn, and the most common adventure pack, plus someone who got 2 reposes and in a battle pack for his S3, Terrafin.

Half the time the projectiles just stop short and don't even hit the target. The only thing he has that I find useful is that he can go underground, and Terrafin has that, and Terrafin has other abilities that have great use. Unlike Shroom Boom.

I took his slingshot path. :I And I hated it.

I hated Barrier Boost, and loved Parashroom Promotion. The reason I hate Barrier Boost is because it does nothing for you. The barrier is always useless no matter what, and the underground is just invincibility that you can do nothing during.

Parashroom Promotion is not too bad.

Yep. I hate everything about Shroomaboom. His attacks are terrible, and he was designed by a perv. It's a one-eyed mushroom head. I'm not even going to say what he looks like.

So how are Shroomboom's buffs in SF? I'm really curious to try him but yet to do so... I guess I know who to play next, although today is a Minecraft day so not now !

I think he's really overhated. Yeah sure, he was everywhere in Giants, although now it seems Acti don't promote him at all any more. And his fanbase is like the smallest, least vocal of them all(or Sunburn, Voodood?). I guess he's like Sweden then? Totally neutral? :/

I like his defensive play style... It's more close up than the others. It's not the strongest, but it's quite interesting. I will admit though it's really annoying how he has some useless move down either path- the paramushrooms down BB and the barriers down PP. I hate when that happens.

Never played him a ton and I see why people hate him- but it annoys me how so few people seem willing to give him more of a chance. He's not that bad. Definitely not the best, he's too clunky to use seriously, but he's not as terribawful as people make him out to be.

Mainly, it's fun to use a character that really challenges you- like Shroomboom. He's just underpowered, and in this unique case, that's what actually makes him fun to break out sometimes. I don't get how people sometimes act like if a character isn't strong they suck 300% and can never be enjoyed. You guys obviously never had fun with the masochistic NES-Hard games of old lol

Shroomboom is stronger than any other core character(maybe besides Stump Smash if you care about HP...). ALL of his slingshot attacks do GREAT amounts of damage, barrier boost gives you a big protective ring which releases poisonous spores(that do good damage) when you touch it or when an enemy attacks it, PLUS being underground gives you a chance to prepare for what's next. The only thing I couldn't care less about is the parashroom attack. It never looked good to me.

Now, I would like to say that the character who has changed GREATLY in power is Wrecking Ball. And thank the lords because he needed it. Not saying that he was bad before, mind you.

Actually I just decided to hop on and play him for a while in SF. He's gotten some pretty neat damage buffs. Talking about BB here, the barriers are a really good attack now, they were good before but now they're awesome. Why? Well, that is because when a mushring explodes, an exploded mushroom does 75 damage and knocks enemies back- it makes him great at handling situations where he is surrounded by enemies. It still takes a while for a ring to explode so you can't just spam the attack all the time but it's the main thing I use him for besides tossing quick-charged mushrooms.
Also, I don't know if this happened in Giants but if you're underground enemies don't notice you, similar to Stealth Elf's stealth mode. And one little improvement is that his paramushrooms now stun enemies for a second... It's not notable and doesn't really make the attack that good but ehh, there are a couple situations you could use it in. My biggest complaint is probably the fact that self-slingshot is a totally useless upgrade, it's just not that powerful, and with the damage boost to his other attacks the setup is not worthwhile at all when you could be just planting down mushrings and firing boomshrooms.

My basic strategy with him is:
-Quickly charge and spam boomshrooms when possible, the damage is insane and once you get used to it shooting out the 55-damage shrooms takes so little more time than just shooting regular ones. Regular shrooms are also a good attack to just toss everywhere and they have the advantage of bouncing further.
- ^ Mushring strategy above.
-Stay underground when Shroomboom needs enemies to stay away from him. Like I-Brawler said it's good for giving you some time to think. Also lets you escape after planting a mushring.
-Use Paramushroom if I need to stun one enemy for a sec(and sometimes go on and proceed to wallop them by attacking them with some mushrings... Like I said not the best strategy but can be used in occasions).

Like I said, he's not the best and he's still a bit clunky, and paramushrooms aren't that useful and self slingshot is completely useless and outclassed by his other moves, but he's definelty a good improvement in this game... I'll be using him more now I guess.

I agree quite a bit with I-Brawler, I don't find him as strong as I-Brawler said, but he does bring up some good points that I personally agree with. I think Shroomboom is best at keeping enemies occupied and keeping himself underground as much as possible while trying to deal as much damage as he can when you get him up from the ground. He's kinda difficult to use and I feel like he's a bit clunky, but he's tricky to use in a fun way. I mean jeez he isn't as bad as Total Tongue used to be guys, but I see nobody talking about how poor that path was.
