I'm currently trying to get more gold on my Swaplanders to get all the upgrades, what would be the best level to grind gold on?

The Sky Diamond one the dummys with two characters, ive been using drobot as the other character, and then use all the +gold legendary items you have so far.

The fastest way to get a lot of gold while using the Sky Diamonds and dummies is to have two different controllers; GamePad for Player 1 and Wii Remote/Nunchuck for Player 2. Both players with both Skylanders receive gold at the same time.

A cool thing is that having 2 players, one player being pop thorn and the other being the skylander being upgraded. Putting pop thorn on the dummy on the very top left of the yard and angling him so his air blasts (in popped form) can hit the dummy and go through it hitting another dummy southeast of the first one. Causing money to pop out of that. Put another skylander on the second dummy prior to the process to collect the money spewing out of the 2nd dummy to collect cash twice as fast.... at least on the xbox.

What's the fastest way to grind gold without the Sky Diamond? Not everyone can afford another $25 to get Tower of Time, I sure as hell won't buy it right now since I'm trying to get a Wii U.

That is your decision, but it is well worth the $25. If you can afford the WiiU at $299, I think another $25 should be affordable.
Just my opinion.

Good luck getting all your characters upgraded without the Sky Diamond, that's a lot of dedicated hours.

Wow, takes that long just to upgrade everyone without it? *groans* Guess I really will need that Damn Diamond (or 4th Chaos Emerald) then.
But worth the $25? I don't think so considering how I have the previous adventure packs. I'm not sure if I even want the whole level and Pop Thorn, the other 4 adventure packs were pretty boring to me and very gimmicky, especially Dragon's Peak (worst level in the game by far) although I liked its characters.

$10 is highway robbery for just one character (I don't care that he comes with a trading card) and Skylander toys as a whole are overpriced, $10 for an Extra Level isn't much better. The 2 powerups are worth $1 in my opinion, but if they were sold as singles, they'd probably be $2.50.

Just my opinion though, I'll still get it anyway at some point.

Not advertising but amazon has new adventure packa for 20$ (after shipping) and $26 for a used one (one offer compared to 46 new ones for 20$)
Just saying you can get it for less smilie (not to mention ebay/amazon will get cheap sky diamonds someday)

This will depend on where you are in the game but what you want to do is use all the gold locations in woodburrow, then either go to a challenge or level, then immediately go back to woodburrow to reset all the locations. You also want to use all your +gold legendary items you have so far.

Gold locations:

present box at the gate (after you get hat)

inside the main building there is two chests

preset your game systems time to 3p.m. to have access to rainbow road which has a chest and gold

beating on the dummys

i believe there was gold next to the guy that first allows you to use the legendary item pedestals,
then up the mushroom stairs from him is more gold, there is also winning gold using the cannon game on that same level.

over near the airship on the far side is another present with gold (cant remember what was in the box)

also near the airship go up those mushroom stairs, gold along the way, then use the transporter to shoot into the pool of water for more gold.

down the stairs that lead to the fishing hole, there is a diamond there and the elemental gates that lead to gold.

there could be more places but i think thats most of them, as i said if you go out to a challenge, level etc, then come back into woodburrow all these places will reset for you. If you dont want to grind for gold your just going to have to earn it the old fashioned way by playing.

Forget about the Sky diamond- you really don't need it to get Gold. It's probably the best option(I haven't tried it so I wouldn't know), but what I do is play the Bonus Mission Chompy Challenge over and over. You usually get at least 1k gold per run (Nightmare) and seems if you have more experience points and get faster at the level you get even more gold. SF has tons of gold, Sky Diamond is not a requirement for fast upgrading.

I will say this. And it's weird to say, but its honest. It's expensive, but ultimately the value of Pop Thorn + the Sky Diamond is worth $25. I haven't evne USED the adventure pack and I've had it since launch, but Pop Thorn is a STRONG and fun character (cutest is a debatable topic too) that feels worth the price of admission so to speak, and the Sky Diamond cheat? Let me paint a picture for you.

The game is called Swapforce, so the figures you chase the most - are the Swap characters, you have 8 in your collection now. Now you've spent alot of time training up Free Ranger to get full upgrades on the top AND bottom...that's essentially TWO characters worth of upgrades (minus about 2k-3k for two characters). You go with the eye blast path and the tornado path. You find out later that the ey blast path has NOTHING on the other path and the tornado path is only useful when you STOP spinning, so you want to change both paths. That leads you to a reset. Not one character...TWO. Same vein, lets say you have Night Shift, and per forum directions, you go with the lower path for 'extra lives'. After you start doing challenges and leveling up your various tops, you realize - wait, I'm not dying so much, maybe vortex path would be better. That doesn't sound like much to reset, but when yo uare talking 16 different swap characters with options that blend different ways with different swaps, you can find yourself, wanting to shift things around ALOT. the third thing? I find myself with multiple of some Swaps already, sometimes because of how life works out (bought Legendary Free Ranger at launch, had a great mark-down/sale and got a normal for like $5, then my wife got me the 3DS version for our anniversary, so I now have 3 Free Rangers, 2 Rattle Shakes, and I'm doubled up with Enchanted Hoot Loop and regular, Leg Night Shift & Night shift). Well the beauty of this is I can use all the paths to mix and match with various bottoms. I have a Hoot Loop that's primary function is damage, and my other one is hypnotize. Stack the hypnotize with Drilla turrets or Ranger spins and its just an iWin button, but there are other sets where the damage is more useful. Well thats fun and all, but that means I'd be paying to upgrade 4 characters....uhm yeah...so...

That's where the Sky Diamond cheat earns its money. If you do the cheat for all your characters and just uprade them to high heaven, the game won't be fun, that's what people don't tell you. But when used in the capacity of reseting a figure, its a God send. I can take Drobot on the top left dummy, aimed at the bottom left dummy and e'll get me 12k+ SOLO, I can then put 'Ranger' on the bottom of a swap character, or Grilla on the top of a bottom and make 20+k in a minute's time.

So while I don't advocate, "infinite money" as you'll ultimately play yourself OUT of the game, I can advocate play testing, and rebuilding Swap characters to synergize better with other Swaps or playstyles.

I am sorry, but that is not worth it.

1. Pop Thorn being fun and strong isn't a fact, its your opinion. I think his gameplay is just straightforward and rather simplistic, kinda boring and doesn't need that much strategy. I don't find him that cute either.

$10 for one character, no way.

2. How is grinding for Gold normally anymore fun than just sky diamond upgrading? It takes hours and hours without it and gets so painful and repetitive.

3. What does the rest of that stuff have to do with the Tower of Time Pack being worth $25?

Hack the lander then if you don't want to give Activision $25. I would be interested in knowing how getting gold can be accomplished without it though. If they don't, then again it speaks to their "intent". So, there's no room full of gold when you beat the game?

Actually, it doesn't really take that long when using the bonus missions, but anyway- doing that helps you learn how to use a character better. Every character I didn't really take effort to get gold with, I didn't end up playing with them as well as those that I did. Playing on Nightmare mode with no upgrades at level 1 to get your gold is tough and forces you to learn how to use a character's abilities, then the upgrading "relaxes" it a bit.

Of course if you just play PVP that doesn't really matter as much ehh, learning how to play in story and PVP are two different stories. I still find putting more effort into completing a character makes me "get" how to use them efficiently and work new strategies with them a lot more. It's also made me play with a few characters I didn't like, then ended up enjoying after doing it. Just spread upgrading out over a few days, if it really takes a few hours.

Now Quests, on the other hand... I swear, if I need to replay Fantasm Forest for those Spell Punks even one more time... Also levelling is a grindy pain...

This but do it in rival survival (if it's an arena challenge can't remember at the moment), that way you get even more at then end of the level and both character get exp as well even if one dies before the end so you can still play it if your on your own as long as you have two pads.
Also, the Sky Diamond cheat is great but try using Drobot as the second character and you can get between 12,000 and 25,000 in one use.

If you have two controllers, you can do the dual player survival, or one controller and the single player survival? Has been pretty good to me. Good Lcuk! smilie
