I saw both of these at E3 in the display cases and have been looking forward to seeing them in person...They do not disappoint! Couple of features I wasn't even aware of!!

This will work great as display sets for collectors, or playsets for kids.

Tried to take lots of pictures to showcase all the features...both are VERY nice! If you don't want the surprises ruined, just don't click the links, lol.

I will promptly pick this up... next year once hits the clearance bins for $10.

Some will sell but not many, prop end up like their portal thing, which while cool really needed usb powered and cheaper

The ship looks seriously cool. The islands I'm not so sure about.

As for clearanced in a year...The original ssa tower case is still like 25-35 dollars at toys r us. And that isn't anywhere near as cool looking.

Yeah...true...but im still not pay'in $60 to $70 bucks for them.

Just depends on the items. I just picked up a battle arena for $10 last week.

That 70 bucks works out to be $115 here in the UK. Thank your lucky stars it's so cheap over there.

Which is a pain, because I thought $70 was a rip off (I'd say $50-55 would be more appropriate). I really want this, but I know for a fact it won't sell over here and will eventually get reduced so I'll be playing the waiting game.

Yeah, I can see these filling clearance bins in the future with massive £5 off making them only stupidly over-priced and STILL not selling.

Then in 2 or 3 years time when STILL nobody has bought them they will finally fall in price but nobody will care anymore and they still won't sell.

Greed is not going to work out well in this case, people are willing to spend a lot of money on Skylanders but they expect to GET something for it.

Will say the islands aren't a bad idea, and do make for a decent display for raised levels if you need that on your shelf...just not worth as much as they're asking by far.

Indeed...also flynn's ship look real simple...not as detailed as the island.
I know i could build one out of balsa wood for a lot cheaper( i could create more detail)...a lot cheaper!!! and bigger to.

For that price you could take the 3D model from the game and 3D print it EXACTLY as it appears in game!

Ehhhh...thats if you have access to a 3D Printer....(those things are a bit pricy )...but true Pyrofer.

On average, a 3D printer will cost around two to three thousand dollars, these days. Once you have it though, the material is relatively cheap.

You can build a Liquid Resin 3D printer for <$100 in parts. In fact I would say less than $50.
They are incredibly accurate with resolution and can make high quality prints that don't have stepping etc on them.

No one said that 3D printing costs thousands. Most pre-built machines will cost you that much, retail, though.

And I don't think I've ever seen Shapeways do something in the scale of the Skylanders play sets.

If I had the talent, I'd totally create a 3D model for a figure to submit to Shapeways to print for the chip from the UFO Hat.

These look really cool when is the release date?

I bought the Skylands play set at TRU today. They didn't have the ship yet.

Anyone else think it's kind of funny that a Toys R Us exclusive play set includes a likeness of the Golden Dragonfire Cannon that was a GameStop exclusive? :-P

Anybody got the ship yet?

If so, have you found that the light does not seem to click in to place well and will fall out as it is a tad loose? Or is it just my one?

I could put a touch of glue on it, of course, but don't feel that I should have to...
