Dipping, once again, into the well of knowledge you guys have here.

So, obviously there is the gamepad...which I'm sure my little one will love to use most often. But 2 of those is not an option as you can only use 1. We've been playing Giant's and Spyro's adventure using wiimote and nunchuk combo. That has worked out very well. The PS3 normal controller has not worked out so well at times when we play the lego games. Is the wiimote/nunchuk option feasible for swap force with jumping now in the game? Or is the pro controller kind of a necessity for player 2?

As an aside (for those of you looking to buy a Wii U): If anyone here has been looking for a wii u deal (as I have) and has their eyes on the zelda bundle, I just saw it on Shopko website for 269.99 and you can get another 10 bucks off with prom code "Joy50" (10 bucks off any purchase over $50)...and free shipping on top of that..so 260+ tax if that floats yer boat. I'm holding out for the Mario bundle myself (mainly cuz I like discs and the zelda game itself is a download, not a disc with that bundle)....but figured I'd share with the fine folks of this forum, as this forum has been so helpful to me since day 1 with the Skylanders games.

What works great for my 5 and 8 year olds is the Classic Controller that you could get for the wii. I plugged it into a wiimote and it works like a champ. I never read anywhere that it was supported but it works. The only problem is my 5 year old has issues sometimes with the ZR button since the controller has it in a silly place. 8 year old has no issues with that. But hey, it gets them playing together so that's all that matters. Not sure if they still sell it or better yet get a used one somewhere if you don't have one. I wasn't shelling out for that pro controller for the wii U since it was expensive and used in very few games.

That's interesting...cuz we are currently a wii household (now upgrading to wii u) and do have this classic controller in our house (but I typically only thought it was good for virtual wii classic games we got from wii shop and only use it for those games):

Is that the one you're talking about? I know there's a few controllers that are referred to as "classic."

And yes, that one is not nearly as bulky as the PS3 controller...which would make it much easier on the little one if the wiimote/nunchuk option is not viable. Just not sure that's the one you are talking about.

I haven't used the Wiimote/Nunchuk combo myself, but I did play multiplayer Swap Force a few weeks ago - me on Gamepad, friend on Wiimote/Nunchuk - and it seemed to work just fine for him. Hopefully someone can speak from personal experience (and I can try Wiimote/Nunchuk when I get home), but I certainly don't think a pro or classic controller is a necessity for Swap Force.

We have been playing it with all combinations of controllers. Everything works.
