So, I've been wondering for a while, how did the Series 2/3 Skylanders become frozen, and it's the same for the new ones, Popthorn, Star Strike, Smolderdash, etc, etc, but I want to know, WHAT HAPPENED?! There's a story behind the Series 1, Giants, SWAP Force, but then these new guys, 2/3? What do you think happened?

Me neither. Also, they aren't series 2/3 Skylanders, they are technically series 1, but from Skylanders swap force. When you want to refer to these guys, say SSF new landers, SG new landers, etc.

Thanks to this I always thought that there not one solid Spyro, or Stealth Elf

Well, I have NO clue about S2/3 but in SWAP Force apparently the Cloudbreak Island was NEVER before seen, maybe skylanders like countdown, slobber tooth, etc. lived there.

Maybe they went back to Skylands and then got re-banished to earth. Idk.

Maybe s 2/3 skylanders were trained by past portal masters so strong they altered the figure with power.

Real reason: Because Eon"s higher ups aka Activision/VV/toys for Bob just wants money

i like to think of it as, the s1 skylanders were sent to earth and i got all the alive ones.

different versions, master eon sent to earth to summon it's power with a specific skylander,

s2/s3, the life of my toy has been transferred to another toy.

This is why Spyro's Adventure was more imaginative as you played it. There were no "doubles".

Anyway, the following explanation is non-canon and I made it up myself.

The Skylanders are sent back to Skylands after Kaos is defeated. While Activision is making new games, some Skylanders realize that they have new powers from their adventures. They learn these new powers, and once they learn them, they are sent to Earth.

The newlanders from each game existed before their game was released, they just didn't adventure to stop Kaos until their game came out.

Heres my non canon take... The new core of light was so magical it created special clones of skylanders with enchanced powers, legendaries, lightcores, alt decos, etc. The clone landers used the core of light to send them to earth (like how Kaos was banished) to assist the portal masters and their fellow skylanders stationed on Earth. The core of light also split the dark skylanders with the original counterparts into seperate entities. For the newlanders, once recruited. They went to the core of light to get sent to earth along with the others.

The SWAP Force don't. The story explains how they broke into halves, but not how they were frozen and sent here.

I just assumed all the Core landers from all three games froze at the same time, we just didn't get them until Giants and SF.

I guess they could have frozen with the other Core landers? But see then they would probably arrive frozen as whichever combo they were at the time.

Either way, the whole gimmick is a huge plothole, as the Quiz Quest book confirms that Portal Masters are meant to travel time- so you should be able to be use the newer characters all the way back to SA and we all know that's not a thing! Don't worry about it...

But in all honestly, s1's cannot go back to Skylands, they are trapped in they're Toy Forme, so they can go to Skylands using our small little portal, but once they're taken off, its over, done, empty....

So there's no chance s1 can stay THAT long, and then suddenly return with a brand new power and all, then WHAT happens to the S1 toy? Well? Anyone got my point?

Like I said before, like Pokemon:

For example: There are many Zubats living out there, enough to make alot of trainers happy, they all can get a Zubat if they want, right?
So why can't this happen with Skylanders, I mean, EVERY Portal Master has at least ONE Stealth Elf, and some of us have even more of one kind of type(s1 in my sitation) so?
IF there is ONLY ONE Stealth Elf in the entire universe, HOW can I have like 9 of her in my collection????

Good theories guys, I'm really confused, because the series 2 from Giants had orange bases, newlanders too, then with SF, they have blue bases, but that's to tell 'em apart, but I wish that had something to do with it.

I'll have to agree with the Pokemon concept.

The game referred to the characters collectively as "The Skylanders," all however many of them there may be.

There is still bound to be plenty more characters and the ones we get from the store are a way of giving us the ability to summon a particular one...If we don't have the "Frozen" character we can't summon the "Live" one in-game.

The main thing that worries me is that in the bio/lore they only talk of Eon...as if there was no other Portal Master since Eon, yet we clearly see Kaos' Mom use one...This brings me to believe that they're is probably many more portal masters out there...After all, it's not like we were able to summon Evilized SugarBats and Chili Dogs...alas we don't have a figure for that.

Actually, I like the idea of each figure being that character from one of the infinite parallel universes and those universes that they come from all ended up the same. Yep, that's going on the headcanon list, your Spyro comes from a different UNIVERSE. S2s happened because while traversing here, those Skylanders took a different pose, which is what gave them those special powers. And Skylanders Universe was shut down because it was causing serious damage to the space-time rift, which was also why it lagged so badly, and then they created a stabilised vessel in the form of Lost Islands, which caused those Lost Islands to become Lost Islands from them messing with that. In fact, every save of the games are just VESSELS to different parallel Skylands universes. Your Skylanders couldn't jump in SA and Giants console because SF and the 3DS games were more stable vessels and could handle doing that. That's also why the game has segments that play differently from others and why the iOS games play so differently from the console games.

... Don't ask me why they all happened to end up on our Earth, though.

(For the record: I had the "vessels" headcanon in my mind before, though it just combines so well with the multiverse idea!)

Really though, I don't like the idea of them working like Pokémon just because they all had individual bios and personalities built up... Pokémon have dex entries that give you an idea of their characteristics, sure, but the game never (besides some event-mon) gives your Pokémon its own story. It's just left up to your imagination. Even in BW it was implied that the "other version" was a parallel universe, anyway, so for all we know each and every copy of every version could act like that. We've seen more than one of some Legendaries in the show a few times as well(true, it's not the best source, but it's still a source).

No matter how much you patch over it, then there will always be a plothole somewhere anyway, though. It's just fun to make stuff up.

this fan fiction has a great explanation of how the multiple copies got made. All the skylanders ( as in anybody who fights kaos) were sent to earth and were forced into the forms of the original skylanders as part of kaos' curse. Its very well written but has some semi graphic battle scenes for its M rating no sex ones however.
