What would you change on darkspyro?

I'd ban all the annoying trolls who ruined the site and caused all the cool old members to join. I'm not saying some of the new members aren't cool, but some people who should have been banned ages ago really ruined the site. It used to be so much fun when I first joined, but now it's just gotten stupid. I'm not pointing fingers or trying to start a fight, I'm just answering the question. That is what I'd change, I'd actually do something and get rid of some people. I know I'm far from perfect and the site could do without my topics.


If you mean something about the sites look or anything I'd leave it as is. If I could I'd add special groups or something for people who roleplay, art, fandoms, stuff like that. I'd also allow one username change and maybe add a few games. Other than that I'd leave it as is.

Thanks. Yeah a form of currency such as dragonflies or something Spyro related would be nice. Like earning them through games and being able to send them to other users and receive them as well. I used to have a forum that had something like that. It also had a weekly lottery that you could buy tickets for and if you won you got the jackpot. It would be cool if darkSpyro had something like that. Spyro Forum has a currency system, though I don't go there anymore because I didn't like the admin and mods, they were to uptight. dark52 and the mods here are a perfect level of strict, they let you have fun but won't allow you to go overboard. Sadly I think the idea of a point system has been denied, though it would really make the site more fun

That would be nice. I'm Canadian, but I sleep during the day so I'm up when Australians would be. I have an Australian girlfriend, that is one reason why I'm up so late. The forum is always so dead at night, like the site might as well add animated tumbleweeds to the forum...

Add a Avatar and Paper Mario section, because I'm a weird fanboy leik dat

Add a signature/avatar area (so photoshoppers can make avatars for people and resize pics)

I would also make signature size normal instead of small (at least 6 lines)

Make gems useful for goodness sakes! Like have a Spyro fan-art trade or somethin'. And add a few games, that are Spyro-related of course. And maybe a create your own dragonfly type of thing. Where when you join, you get to make your own "pet" dragonfly. It would be a banner on your post, and lives in your Guest-Book ^.^

I mean that they serve no actual purpose on here. I mean sure, they say how long you've been here, but who really cares. It doesn't matter what rank we are!

what I've noticed is that there so many small little brats on this place.... I'd like to change that

I would increase avatar size to 150x150, allow avatar KB limit to go up to 149kb, upgrade the forum to allow easier navigating and eradicate users whom are inactive and the ones whom are ripto'd.

Well, I would be a rather strict non lazy admin. I would check the sections and see if anything is going on in them, as in more intense stuff might happen to some mods. Ban users that need the boot after all those things some of them did. Change the KB limit beyond the hundreds. Router ban users using proxies. Make a hunter in training section for hunters and new coming hunters. Also fix some things like unneeded stickies and such.

That's all I can think of for now.

I got what they were saying, just pointing out a large error in it too.

Assuming I had the coding abilities to do any of this, some ideas would be:

-Change gems into a form of currency that could be used on the site in certain ways. For example, people could use them to request things (avatars, etc.) from other members. I don't have any plan fleshed out
-Allow small image banners in signatures and/or small images in guestbooks, so they stay reasonably small but people could have a little banner if they wish
-Username change option for members who earn it (i.e. spent a long enough time being active on the site)
-Removing certain unnecessary sticky topics and increasing the post limit for topics in certain forums to their original limit of 10,000
-Put the member ID number or join date under avatars in everyone's posts and tying the ranking system to length of time on the site, not gem count.
-Eliminate the game chat pages, as they're really unnecessary in my opinion and could increase activity in the Spyro boards.
-Lastly, establish a mod network. Aside from being admin, I'd have 2 or more "global mods" with most of the same abilities I would have and control over all the boards. In addition, I would have rotating forum mods, who would be in charge of specific boards for a certain time period (maybe a year), with the possibility of continuing or giving up the position if they're tired of it. They would have limited abilities like the Hunters currently have. Users could nominate each other for forum mods and the global mods and I would pick from the applicants.

I probably have other ideas, but that's all I got right now. @.@
