That's just what the internet is like. There's a lot more people in the US. I always try and specify when I speak, if I know it's a store in more than one country, like Target or Kmart, I'd say "Aus" if I'm talking about Big W or JB Hi Fi, most Americans don't know what they are so I'd say (store here in Aus). They usually laugh when I say Dick Smith is a store here. smilie

And when I refer to dollars I write "AUD". But it's not something most people stop to think about. Home is home for a lot of people that's all they know. I've been speaking to some American friends of mine for over 10 years and even then I still forget about the time difference and things like that. It's hard when it's someone's birthday because I have to wait for ages since our time is so far ahead.

I don't think people do it deliberately so try not to take it too personally. Peace.

I agree. I won't go into specifics because at some point it would just become mindless raging, but I just wish that some Americans were more grateful that they have Wave 2 instead of being impatient for Wave 3. Yes yes you want to get it over with but so do I and you'll probably get Wave 3 before I even see anything from Wave 2- or smilie / smilie- in a store.

I'm really upset that Activision decided to stick to this system, in conclusion.

Lame.
There are tons of dedicated threads on this forum specifically designated for different regions of the world.
It would be absurd for every single USA-based user to post a disclaimer in every single post stating that his/her post pertains to the North Americans market for Skylanders.

You know, it would just be nice to see a [US] disclaimer sticker in topic titles a bit more often.

It was just frustrating hearing about a restock for a figure I've been looking for, only to find out it was in the US, or clicking on a thread about a wave or a toy coming out and then seeing it was geared towards the US release(before I just gave up on finding info useful to me outside of AU-specific topics...). I don't mean anything against Americans, but it would be so useful seeing [US] at the start of certain topic titles...

Imagine if, when LightCore Hex / Pop Fizz / Chill had come out last game, people had made topics about it without disclaiming that was for AU and EU. Perhaps I'm blowing this out of proportion, but...

Couldn't we solve this by having a sticky "Skylander Hunting" topic for the EU, Australia, and North America? Is Canada on a different release schedule than the US? Do we have people on here from anywhere else?
Realistically I don't think everyone will remember to always post what country they are talking about. But it seems like the problem is really mostly an issue for figure hunting. So it seems to me that of we had dedicated places for release news in each area that could be a big help. You're still going to have people start random topics about the same thing, but on forums someone always does.

Some forums I've been on list location by the name and avatar. I realize it wouldn't keep people from going into a topic but you could see right away where the person posting is from when they don't think to/ forget to include location in the topic.

Getting frustrated about restocks for a figure is your issue if you let it be an issue. If you want something from the US that gets released first, then have somebody from the US help you out with it. I would love a Punch Pop Fizz from the UK. I read about Legendary Bouncer and Granite Crusher being readily available in Dubai and would love those. I heard about Molten Hot Dog in New Zealand after it being long sold out in the US and would also love one. Am I frustrated about any of these...no...Skylanders are just a toy. That being said, I'd be happy to trade my extra Polar Whirlwind, Pumpkin Eye Brawl, or any currently US released Skylander figure for anything on my want/wish list (most of which are more readily available in other countries)...note that it's not a "need" list as nobody needs a toy. I wish there was an open trading forum on here so that we can all just readily help each other out. No need to get frustrated about not having a figure or being first to get something at release. As for content, there's not much you can do about the majority of posts being from American users...it's about where Skylanders is most popular and how many fans are willing to comment about it. Have respective fans in your country step up their use of the website if it's that important to you.

I'm very upset too and I wish people would put [City, State/Province, Country] tag more often.

People said Wave 2 is out everywhere but when I go to my local Target, they didn't have it!!

I can very much understand the disappointment with players in other countries being upset and how things are distributed to the USA first and some things never make it to other countries at all. Anyone who plays Pokemon will understand what I'm going to point out. Pokemon is made in Japan, so they get all kinds of events and distributions. Those of us in other countries (including the USA) are lucky if we get even a handful of these in comparison to everything they get. It's easy to get upset about this, but we also realize that Pokemon is made in Japan, so it's understandable that they get the majority of the good stuff. Up until this release, they also saw the game months before us. Not saying I like it, but understandable.

Skylanders appears to be the same thing. Anything that blows up like this (Skylanders, Pokemon) cater to their own country first before everyone else. At least Pokemon has gotten their act together and released the latest game to everyone at the same time. Distributions of event Pokemon, as well as special events in general, will probably be less than a handful like in the past however. But that is the way it is. If a big game series is started out of the UK, we'll probably see the same thing as with Pokemon and Skylanders. Nothing wrong with it, though it can be very annoying for anyone who isn't in the game's "home country"... but that's just how it is.

Unless I'm in one of the "Canada" threads, I always assume the release information is geared towards anywhere else but Canada - mostly the U.S., occasionally Europe and Australia.

Canadian distribution is relatively close to the U.S., but we still mostly get our stock after the U.S. gets theirs. We also miss all the Frito Lay giveaways, a lot of sales events and other cool American-only promotions.

You say I shouldn't be frustrated about the US getting something early, but I have seen people from the US- despite the fact that they get completely new Skylanders, not recolours- first so often, upset when they don't get a variant or something.

I'm just saying, there have been many accounts I've seen where people from the US get frustrated over not having a Dark Spyro single- a recolour of a very common figure who is available in a now-cheap starter pack and was recently reposed into a special edition pack of the new game.

It's just a horrible double standard when people tell non-USers to calm down over not having a new wave, but not people impatient for a toy with different colours, too. Maybe we need to calm down but it's really tiring when if someone else gets one thing first, there are a lot more complaints, and, as opposed to when we complain, hardly anyone is telling those people to calm down. At least when we complain, it's (well, in this case) about actual, new toys, not toys that are just remade versions of old ones. The only cases that may not apply are with Wham-Shell and S2 Drobot who did have new gameplay, and even the latter was just a repose who had a single new move.

I'm not saying our reasons for whineging are perfect and all American complaints are null. Honestly, I've probably seen a lower percentage of complaints from the American fans. But how many things have you guys gotten first, and how many things have other countries missed out on entirely? How many times has something been common as dirt in the US and HTF in other countries as opposed to the other way around? And- how many times have people said in topics about another country getting something first for the impatient, excited to calm down? It is frustrating when I'm being lectured about a toy and yet when others say something in the same vein, they don't have their ears bitten off. >.> I know it's just a thing that happens, but that doesn't mean that I can't be frustrated about it.

Yes, there is the "trading" workaround, but if you look in my stores I honestly don't think you'll find anything yours don't have. I have.... LightCore Shroombooms, Swarms, Hot Dogs, Jet-Vacs, Cynders, the stuff everyone has. Heck, I don't even know if stores here sell Polar on her own, or if we need to buy an SF Starter(seriously, could someone clarify that?). And of course, trading isn't allowed to be set up on the public forums anyway here, so tough luck for me to actually be able to set up a trade for a Boom Jet or Grilla Drilla if anyone HAS been looking for the figures in my store and has access to some I want...

But, whatever... I'm done with this topic. It just bums me out too much, thinking about how in America, you get awesome BOGO promos and still worry about TRU raising prices by $1, when we have to pay $13 a Core figure here and barely get any good sales... >.>
