I know a couple people have dug around the game data, partially to confirm the final list of variants. Has anyone found anything to suggest a 3rd generation of Sidekicks?

Yup. There will not be Sidekicks.

Sadly everything that's in the game is known by this point, save for chase variants.

Actually a little relieved by this. Chip bag hunting stinks, we still haven't seen Fright Rider bags around here, let alone Quick Draw bags. It is such an unreliable, inconsistent way of getting things. The Sidekicks were kinda cool, but at this point the idea is done - eight is enough.

^True. Though new ones would be nice, eight are sufficient. If only there was a way to get them besides Frito-Lay and evilBay...(heythatrhymed)

Wouldn't be so bad if Frito-Lay was more reliable with them...I've given up on Thumpling arriving by mail by now.

Mayby the reason is that people didn't buy them this time.

I doubt that's the reason - The game was likely mostly finalized by the time the Giants Sidekicks promo even started.

Not the game, but all of the promo stuff and characters most likely (even if they were still being developed).

That points toward the slight lack of Alter Egos. I bet if the game came out later, they would've added one or two more.

Makes me think we'll get some Specials/Chases this go-round--much like the Fright Rider and GITD Rattle Shake.

My guess is since swaping stuff is the gimmick this year they couldn't come up with a way to release a sidekick and not have it swap like it's larger self. They could of done the new core landers but that wouldn't make sense as the swapable guys are more-so the focus.

Yeah, the arrival of my Giants Sidekicks was really weird. I got four bags of the chips one at a time, a week or two between each and put in for the Sidekick right after opening each one. I got my first three Sidekicks in the mail pretty regularly, a few days or a week apart. Then Eye Small took FOREVER to get to me! It was well over a month after my previous Sidekick got to me that it finally arrived. Maybe even two months. Really weird, like they worked on and sent them out in waves.

I would say if you haven't waited over two month yet, it may still make it to you.

I'm pretty sure they did go out in waves. Everyone I knew that got them got the first two (the same two) within a day of me (including my sister you lives several states away) and then the other two a couple of days later. Got them pretty fast.
