So, what's the best starter pack, in your opinion? Console, and edition.
So, we've got:
The standard starter pack, which of course has Blast Zone, Wash Buckler, and NSE, on multiple consoles.

Variations:

• The Darkstarter, which comes with Dark versions (which apparently have no advantages stat-wise) of the included characters in the normal starter, and MRS and Slobber Tooth, along with a $25 price increase.
  
• The Walmart Exclusive super pack, with the standard starter pack's characters, along with 4 additional ones, including MRS, SGPF, Star Strike, and LC Grim Creeper, for a $25 price increase.
  

The 3DS Starter pack, with Rattle Shake, Free Ranger, and the exclusive (for now...) Volcanic Eruptor, along with the 3DS version. Likely to drop in price.

So what's your favorite starter pack?
I've got my eye on the PS3 Walmart super pack, or maybe the Darkstarter if it goes on sale.

I got both X360 and PS3 normal edition because I don't care for Dark figures (except Blast Zone which doesn't warrant $25 extra) and Walmart extras. I would get Walmart edition if I want to get those extra figures because it saves a little bit money.

Note that I don't care getting 3-pack if I only want 2 figures in it. I'd rather put extra $5 to get the other figure I want than getting the unwanted one in 3-pack for just $5. I bought too many extra Giants figures just because they were 'cheap' which I regretted later because I don't even care to play them.

PS3 version actually loads slightly slower but noticeably compared to X360 version and also requires 55mb installation. I still use PS3 for myself because I prefer PS3 controller though. The X360 version is used by my nephews. Graphics wise they are pretty much identical.

On another note, I was considering getting PS4 and SF for it. However, after looking at PS4 gameplay footage, I don't really see that much difference than current gen graphics. Definitely doesn't warrant getting PS4 now and risk initial hardware issues. I'll get PS4 next year instead along with Skylanders 4

For those who have the Wii U, I suggest getting the Wii U version. I bought the new one almost two months ago, and so far I have no problems whatsoever.

I only got the Wii U basic starter pack, and so far love it (I'm not far into the game at all though) I saw the Wii version at a friend's house, and it is so much worse looking than the Wii U version, but I don't have any other comparisons.

Three of the Dark figures are pretty neat (Blast Zone, Spyro and Stealth Elf) while the other two are a bit average, but if you're fan of one of the good ones you may as well grab the dark starter. No doubt the 'normal' versions of the characters will be pretty easy to get later on for cheap.

I grapped the dark,love spyro and loved how blast zone and slobber tooth looked. I then got the 3ds game to get the 3 figures on there, gave the free ranger to my son (because he got rattle with the nitro target pack) and i took rattle (because i also got free ranger from the nitro target pack)- I took the dark eruptor and my son got the game.

I also bought other dark editions and regular copies, spent more money then i prob should off, oh well least my xmas shopping is done for the wife and kid this year.

When the Super Pack is out on the 11th, who plans to get it?

I'd buy the walmart exclusive pack if i didnt have everything thats in it already.

I don't have anything that's in it yet, and having parents who dislike the whole-undead-skull-pedestal thing, it's a good way to hopefully acquire Grim Creeper.
Unless I want to wait for Enchanted Star Strike ( <3 )...

Is the 3DS version any good?

Debatable. It's a fair companion, from what i hear.

A shame there is no Wii U super bundle. Strange, since even the Wii version has one.
