Was at my local walmart where I saw wave 2 swappers and a DLC
Was about to grab some when a man shoved me out of the way and then took EVERYTHING swapforce related(plus a DLC!!!) off the shelf. (Minus a few popthorn adventure packs and a few starters)
He mentioned something about ebay then bought everything.

This is why I hate scalpers

I would grabbed them right out of his cart and ran lol. But seriously we all hate them just as much if not more, I have personally similar things happen and it infuriates me.

If the man initiated physical contact with you, file a police report for assault. I would virtually guarantee that the store has CCTV coverage over the area and they'd hand it straight over to the PD upon request from the PD.

Unless, of course, you're exaggerating.

Seriously, if he pushed you (and you live in America) just call security and tell them he assaulted you!
You don't have to actually do anything but at least scare the poop out of him like you are going to sue his butt.

Imagine if it had been an excited kid he had pushed away and possibly injured. This sort of thing is NOT acceptable.

Exactly.

I've heard plenty of exaggerated stories, and plenty of real stories.

Trust me that guy looked pretty brutal and yeah we all hate them.

I could have got a DLC which as we know is rarer then any swapforce character. Still cant believe that I saw one and had it stolen right in front of me.

Edit because you guys are posting very quickly. (Because scalper topic)
He didn't push me he sort of "bumped" me out of the way (to the floor no less)

He doesn't have to sue. If the guy did actually physically assault him, then it's a criminal charge and the state will press charges.

This is the *exact* kind of thing that a local police force will go after because it will make local headlines right before "Black Friday" - and will send a clear message to the public that this kind of behavior is simply not acceptable.

Go to your local PD and file a police report. Today.

Yeah like I have time to file a police report against a guy I don"t know and likely wont see ever again in my life.

My mother was actually shoved down by a guy. She could've said something.

I also recall several employees telling me that one of their employees tried ripping a Clear Stealth Elf out of a little kid's hands. The employee was fired, and the lucky kid got Stealth Elf.

That's ridiculous. I've seen things like that happen with adults running up on kids at a display and basically strong-arming them out of the way. I've seen some parents step in and put a stop to that pretty quickly too...the Giants release seemed a little more heated than what i've seen with SF so far.

When you say DLC, are you talking about Fiery Forge? I had assumed that when talking about DLC, everyone meant FF and the Tower of Time pack (with Pop Thorn). Those don't seem to be all that hard to find though. Am I missing one?

Do you really expect us to believe that you aren't exaggerating, embellishing, or even outright lying?
Even the most ruthless "scalper" doesn't shove/push/attack other customers in a retail store where there are witnesses and video surveillance.
And even if this mystery man did clean the shelves off at a Wal-Mart, that would take a while to do. Even if you were "bumped to the floor", you could have got back up and selected a couple of items.

I hate to call someone out like this without really knowing what happened, but this story sounds like hogwash. Seems much more likely that your parents went to Wal-Mart and you browsed the Skylander section, and saw a few items you would have liked to have had, but you either didn't have the money for them or your parents nixed you. So you confabulated this story to make yourself feel better, and decided to dump it on these boards as a coping/attention mechanism.

Lame, dude.

You know, these things do happen. And not only from scalpers. Didn't anyone watch videos from Walmart last Black Friday? Seriously? People get aggressive at times over these sorts of things. Some claims are exaggerated sure, but it does happen and it is not all that uncommon. I know some want to believe that scalpers really aren't that bad (and most probably are decent people that wouldn't do that), but dollar signs in some people's eyes make them do some pretty awful things. And overly anxious parents can do them as well.

I remember one very specifically, back in the early nineties when Super Mario 3 came out, two women went to blows at my TRU over the last slip (they used slips you would purchase then redeem at the security cage back then). Both got thrown out and the stunned guy behind them was handed the slip. It happens all the time, Teddy Ruxpin, Tickle Me Elmo, Talkboy, TMNT figures, and so on.

Really, the thing to do was to report it immediately to the manager. In most cases they will deal with it right then and there, and likely eject the offender on the spot and refuse their purchase (if it went as you say). They DO NOT want to end up on the evening news. And unwanted/aggressive physical contact is something stores take VERY seriously.

It shouldn't take too long. Realistically if you're not rusing us, there's probably security camera footage that the store could check. If you got injured or something, that could be a very serious offense. If you didn't, it may not be a huge deal to you, but its still something that the store should look into. What if the guy went to another store, did the same thing and actually hurt someone.

If you were knocked to the ground by this guy it is YOUR DUTY to report it to the police.
It could have been so much worse if it had been a kid or somebody more frail than you. By reporting it you could prevent him doing worse to somebody else.

People only get away with this sort of thing if WE LET THEM. Don't.

Had the opposite happen at TrU last week when I was with my daughter. Women must have thought I was a scalper....her son had one of the legendary skylanders and he was standing next to me...she said "hold that close and don't let him see it". The kid walked off away from me and his mom gave me a dirty look.

I could see if I was by myself when this happened.....and it wasn't like they didn't have a bunch of legendary grim creepers on the pegs (what he had in his hand).....but I was with my daughter. Ah well....people are strange.

People are strange like that. Many times in the past I've directed people to figures that were uncommon on the shelves (or not clearly displayed), mentioning they would have a more difficult time finding that figure as opposed to another at a later date, or that it was new. Maybe she has had something happen previously that caused her to be wary, but you are right - being there with your child should give the impression that you are less likely to behave badly, particularly since it wasn't like he was holding the only one.

Just goes to show you another unintended side effect of scalping, it makes fans distrust each other - on top of all the other things.

I'm not condoning what the scalper did, but don't gawk at or hover around something like a Darklight Crypt pack like it's something you may want to have. I wouldn't push anybody out of the way for it, but I'd definitely be reaching for it right away if I saw one. As far as the wave 2 swappers, wait a week and they'll be everywhere...be smart and wait for a sale. Since Spyro's Adventure just got released in Japan, I thought Darklight Crypt Packs and Boomer figures were going to be more common (albeit you may have collector cards in Japanese writing if you choose to buy those).

Didn't even get hurt physically. Just hurt that I got to saw DLC but had it pretty much stolen in front of my eyes.
