I'm thinking of hosting an unofficial tournament someday... [CLOSED]

The figures & every possible upgrade paths & hats will be provided & the tournament will comprise of 64 contestants; each pay a fee of $20. The winner gets $1000, which is the most of the accumulation of all the entry fees & no, there is no second or third place prizes. This is for recognition of strategic superiority...

Here are the rules that I have for now, which will be strictly enforced:

1- You must be of age 10 & up. Anyone younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian...
2- You are to provide info to which Skylander, it's upgrade path(s), & it's hat chosen upon registration & before each match. You may decide not to change Skylanders, but it's best to change which Skylanders & paths & hats to insure that no one knows your strategies. Do study your Skylanders, upgrade path(s), & hats wisely...
3- No bantering, lying, teasing, cursing, jeering, peace-disturbing, or any kind of negative & innappropriate behavior. There will be children around, so no sore-losing...

Failure to comply to these temporary rules will result in immediate disqualification & a lifetime ban from this tournament.

Any questions? Thoughts? Opinions?

As for which video game system will host this tournament. This remains to be seen...

Tournament location is yet to be determined too...

Also, only by lottery will the battle arena be chosen & there will be no food, no power-ups, no weapons, & no stage obstacles...

There will also be no blaming for choosing a Skylander that is elementally weak against its opponent, since they are entered privately & activated by only the tournament host. Neither contestant will ever know which Skylander the opponent has chosen. As said earlier, this is a tournament for recognition of strategic superiority, not just for $1,000...

A contestant can use any Skylander & it's upgrade path & hat he/she wishes, whether they'd be series 1 or 2 or 3 or variants. This tournament is to see who is the best & brightest of all the 64 contestants...

Also, a coin toss will determine who will be player 1 or player 2 & how the contestants are arranged will be done by lottery...

Second prizes should be figures, or the small Mega Bloks packs.

Hmmm. Since the entire entry accumulation is $1280, maybe the $280 should be given to the runner-up...

I'd definitely consider showing up to such a thing, even though I have virtually no practice against good players in PVP. I keep wishing I could find a competitive Skylanders fan in my area who would be down with meeting up for some PVP or co-op Skylanders stuff.

I wonder who would win. An adult, a child, an elder, or a female? There will be no stereotyping, since this is a non-profit & private tournament for recognition of strategic superiority will prize money...

Also, this is not a branch tournament. After the 64 are registered & then paired against each other by lottery, the 32 winners will be paired against each other by lottery again. The pairing procedure will continue on the 16 to 8 & then ends on the 4 semi-finalists. There will be no rivalries...

One more thing. I am still undecided whether I should host this tournament once every month, 3 weeks, 2 weeks, or every week. What do you think?

I'm getting headaches on the registration procedures, especially when 64 out of thousands will try to register first...

Also, since I'm hosting this tournament without gaining anything from it & the prizes are the accumulated entry fees, do I need a permit for this? Is this considered gambling since the 64 contestants are trying to reach the finals for $1000 & $280?

it not gambling because it isn't a luck game and im not sure if you need a prermit to do this and if it is held will be held at a home or at a public area because if it is at a public area then you need to consider the fees for renting the place

There will also be a restriction list, for there are some strategies from certain Skylanders that give them unfair advantages...

This would be awesome! And a special surprise would be that you get a free ride there and back! Please do that, or else I'd never get to LA.

^There are no free rides, especially in an unofficial tournament of 64 contestants trying to win cash prizes...

On the side note, the cash prizes awarded are as follows: 3rd place is $80, 2nd place is $200, & 1st place & winner is $1000...

All this money comes from the 64 contestants that each pay their registration fee of $20 (64 x 20 = 1280). For the love of this franchise, I expect no stupidity when asked which Skylander, upgrade path(s), & hat will be used upon registration. When the registration day comes, only the first 64 emailers will be entered & registered...
