After the new update (in skylanders lost islands) the iOS portal can read the new swap force skylanders, how ever DO NOT UES IT!!!! It will 100% reset the skylander to factory new, as in no upgrades level 1 no money. (now I have to start all over with my Swap force skylanders)

I haven't checked my Skylanders since using the iOS Portal but I'll check now. I only did the first level of the game anyway, but this is definitely a big problem.

Never mind, I found it.

It reset ever one of my new skylanders that I put on the iOS portal (and I have been able to repeat the glitch with 100% success so its not a 1 time fluke or a data corrupted thing).

Well it looks like you not playing Lost Islands anymore. Unless of course you like playing at lvl1 with no upgrades. Then have FUN!

It's got to be something you're doing. Just call support, I'm sure they will have you fixed in a jiffy.

Sorry but looks like I was ninja'd for the topic but still all my skylanders that I got on the first day have to be returned I can't do anything with those skylanders because they will reset everytime they are removed from the portal. All my hatred for this situation goes to vicarious visions for not working out this major bug before launching the update!

Are you saying the figures were damaged and now don't work on the SF portal on your console???

Does it affect only the new Skylanders or all of them?

Same here. I tried all kinds of different things with the figures that were affected and I could not replicate it.

So if I am getting this right, after the update, ANY Skylander placed on the IOS portal will be reset to Level 1.

They will work as normal after removal and use on the console versions of the game, but immediately be reset to Level 1 anytime they are placed back on the IOS portal?

Can you tell me if this is the App or the portal doing this?

Ie, Does the portal behave normally if you plug a USB cable in and use it as the portal on your SSA, Giants console version?

If it's doing it to older (pre-swap force) skylanders as well then it must be something in the app update that has caused it, right? No one seems to have heard of this happening before Lost Islands was updated.

That is a *crazy* bad bug to have in a release at any time, but especially awful in the launch week for Swap Force

I play Lost Islands almost daily, but since the Swap Force isn't going to be used until Santa arrives, I was going to hold off on putting any of them in the game even though it can be done through the packaging. Sounds like that was a good decision. I'm sure they will have it fixed soon.

Besides, I don't think the iOS portal brings in the level of the figure, never did for me anyways (I guess since it didn't consider other versions of the same figure to be distinct). You really only unlock the character once, then never need to import it again (or use the webcode). As long as the figure reset doesn't have long term effects in Swap Force, just make sure you load them into Lost Islands before you play them in Swap Force, and use webcodes for those that are already leveled up.

Why use the portal? Just input the code from the sticker into the app (that's what I do). No problems what so ever.

The web codes are supposed to be one time use whereas a family with multiple players can use the portal and 1 figure to unlock that character for everyone. And why would anyone want to manually input that many codes? When Lost Islands first came out I scanned around 50+ figures into the game which I wouldn't have done if I had to enter the code for each of them.

And it's fixed.
