What's the point of the codes now? Yes, I miss Universe. [CLOSED]

Hi, I'm just curious if anyone knew what the point of the codes that come with the figures is now. I hope/assume Lost Islands includes them. I have played that 'game' to no end.

But what right now?

I am loving Swap Force, see comment #22 here, //forum.darkspyro.net/spyro/vi...&page=1#4698516

Just curious.

I miss Skylanders Universe and making my 'landers eat healthy plants.

it is for lost islands and they also said that battle grounds will be updated for swap force. So both will use the codes (it also says this on the back of the codes).

What I think most people miss most is that it simply helped with organizing your catalog of skylanders, kept your codes available to you in case you lost the code sheet. That was what WE used it for primarily...as an entertainment vehicle it was mediocre but it least it had SOME social / networking aspect STILL MISSING in the mothership entries.

I submit Battlegrounds will be on a lifeline after Swap Force...if not before then. Just a feeling (especially if they aren't continuing in selling it as a product).

I also miss Universe. It was pretty glitchy and it did need a lot more fleshing out, but it had so much potential. Also, now the Hero Level stat is useless. Man, all we inherited when Universe retired was some even more neglected mini-game site.

Having two sets, keeping codes sorted feels like a nightmare now, too. I have no way to check which toy goes with which code card. Is there really a point to me keeping them? I already got the Battlegrounds Portal for the iOS games so it would just be neater tossing them out.

Universe was repetitive and had many issues, and overall it was fairly bad- but it was a nice distraction from the main action-filled games, it gave more value to your collection, and it also acted as a nice organizer. Lost Islands is similar, but just feels too much like a cash grab, and it just doesn't have as much fun. I wish they would reboot Universe, but it'll never happen.

I liked the idea behind universe but the game itself kinda sucked, especially since we all had safe chatting making talking a chore smilie

I enjoyed decorating the island bits though

That's what I hope Prof's tool he is working on will help us with. It is a nightmare to keep straight. I know for a fact that if you bought Gnarly and Punch off of eBay the code you got doesn't match what's on the figure--which could be problematic if someone decides to use the code on the figure at some point in the future.

In MY opinion, the ability to see your unique character code should be opened up from any Skylanders Game.

This is a lot of worry (it's more OCD really) when in fact these codes are basically useless. A great idea not being capitalized. I guess Activision doesn't see the need to do the work.

You can in the Wii U version of swap force. Not in 3DS version tho, and cant check the others my self.
