Did anyone get their starter pack at toys r us? Were you able to use both coupons to get it for $50?

Some have but I doubt it's going to be consistent for all TRUs.

There's no reason why they wouldn't take both. It's their policy. The manufacturer coupon is like cash to them. It doesn't make it "on sale". They turn that coupon in for money from the manufacturer, so it's like handing a form of payment to them. I know some employees, for some reason, don't get that. I had an issue with buying a movie the other day where the girl had to call a manager over to see if she could accept a manufacturer coupon for something that was on sale. I told her it was like cash and she disagreed with me. After waiting for 10 minutes for a manager, she was told practically (although not the exact words) what I told her. And her name tag said she had been working there since 2012. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, though, that she is just new as a cashier. So you may run into that problem, but just ask to talk to a manager. As for the 20% off coupon stacking with the B1G1 40% off, it could possibly work. If you buy 2, the first one is at regular price and the coupon will attach to that one. I'm pretty sure I've done things like that in the past with B1G1 offers, but I'm not sure if I've done it at TRU. It's worth a shot, though, and if it doesn't work, then just ask them to ring separately.

I was able to use both coupons, thus able to get the Starter Pack for $50. Now, all I have to do is use my other coupon at Gamestop to get the Dark Edition for $90.

My TRU had problems with the 20% coupon. I had to get an after the fact adjustment to my card, but I did end up getting it for $50.

There was no way in hell I was going to hold up these guys with price matches at other sites and use it in conjunction with the BOGO.

My Toysrus was not letting people use the coupon on preorders, But, they let me use both of the coupon if I bought it without the preorder. I just didn't get Hex. We have a Hex, so I bought it with out the lightcore Hex. Quite a few people lost their $1 from the preorders and left with out Hex. Annoying.

That's funny. They had no problem using the $10 off coupon with my preorder.

my preorder worked fine, 20% off woman thought was for giants but she tried it and it went thru, the 10 off one gave us trouble but the manger just showed her a way to put it thru. So got each for 54 and one for 18 (used tru reward dollars) it went well, i was happy

i got my game for 54 dollars, 10 dollar off, and 20% off. it was great. not even a hassle about it.

Were you buying figs at the same time? That was probably some of MY problem. In my particular case, the coupon picked the CHEAPEST item in my basket take the 20%.

the guy was smart enough, rang them up separately. game + coupons. worked perfect.

Does it take the 40% off of just the cheapest things? Like say i bought the 2 triple packs and 2 core singles, are the cores going to be what's marked down?

Also, how was the scalper situation? Are there limits placed by tru?

I was wondering if i have to go through the checkout a few times to make sure I get the 40% offs properly allocated:

Once for the 360 and 3ds starters and coupons

Then the triple packs and battle/adventure packs

Then swappers Magna Charge & Hoot Loop

Then lightcores

And finally Rollerbrawl & Countdown

I don't think the buy one get one 40 percent off two starter packs will work with both of the coupons...Did anyone try this?

My TRU price matched, did BOGO, took both coupons and let me ring up everything on seperate transactions for the most savings. No hassle or problems. With all my savings ended up getting the started pack for free with change to spare. Best thing to do is just ask people :-)

Ok, cool. I figure as long as there isn't a huge line of people forming behind me, I'll ask to ring it up separately. I preordered though, hope that doesn't cause any problems.

Ask to ring it up separately regardless. Its not that much more time. Everyone will be there to maximize savings. If you don't, I'm sure the person behind you will

I had almost no problem--had both coupons and wanted to ring up just the 3DS starter pack and do a separate transaction for the two exclusive figures. He wanted to ring them together, said the coupon would go towards the highest priced item. It didn't work, but he was good natured about it, took the figures off, took my money for the starter kit, then did another transaction.

The funny part was on the metallic gill grunt. They didn't know that it was something you get later, and they had some poor sap in the back looking for it!!

I'm sitting at GameStop now, do we know for sure that they will actually take the potato chip coupon?

I just got back. Toys R Us took both the Frito Lay coupon and the 20% off. The 20% will automatically go to the lowest priced item, but the clerk fixed it so it came off the starter. Their computer system was configured to pair up items of the same price, so I was able to buy it all on one transaction.

got the 360 and 3ds starters (with both coupons applied to the 360) and everything else at the bogo 40 price. The only thing i didn't buy was Legendary Free Ranger since there was nothing to pair him with...I'll wait and get him with L. Night Shift.

I was about to walk away from the counter when i realized they forgot to give me the LC Hex figures. That took an extra 15 minutes to sort out at the courtesy desk...basically, they had to void and rescan the 2 starters to get the figures to scan or free.

One thing about the Frito coupons.
I had 2 versions. One had 2 bar codes (one for giants figure and one for swapforce or giants starter); the other had 3 sections ( one for figure, one for giants starter and a separate one for swapforce starter) The one with 2 sections would not work when scanned, the other one worked no problem.

Later i used the 2-section coupon at GameStop. It wouldn't scan there either, but they still took it. The manager had an email printed out that told employees to honor it.

I split all my transactions or it would have applied to the cheapest figures. Everyone that checked out later in the evening was splitting their transactions up like me.

I was able to use both the Frito-Lay coupon and the 20% coupon without problems, I just got cheated out of a $1 and my Hex figure. But, it was late and I was annoyed, I even left my preorder card on the counter I was so ticked.

Did you all get the free Hex figure with your preorders and also the 20% off coupon and Frito-Lay coupon?

I am still irked that I missed out on the free Hex figure and wasted an extra $1.

Did anyone attempt a price match with the B1G1 40% off. TRU always has figures $1-$2 more. I got shot down this morning and left upset and with nothing.

They did not take my 20% off coupon - only got the 2 Legendary items though.

I was able to use the 20% off coupon and the Frito-Lay coupon even though I was getting the free LC Hex and a bonus figure. The clerk was sharp and didn't question it because he saw that the coupon did not exclude SWAP Force. Worked on both my 360 and 3DS preorders but again this isn't consistent from store to store.

Finally got someone who understood the question and confirmed that I should have received the price match and the 40% off.

I got My PS3 starter with a free lightcore hex using both the 20 % off and the $10 frito lay coupon. Sweet deal, Why wait Months for a sale when its almost as cheap at LAUNCH!

I gave her the 20% off coupon and the $10 off coupon which she had to manually override the price. Total of $49.20.

The Toys R Us employees were very helpful and really tried to give me the best deal possible. I'm sure they'll get more of my money soon >.<

I was able to combine the 20% and $10 off, and I got LC Hex, but they wouldn't give me the second free figure as advertised when I bought my preorder card. I had someone else buy Legendary Free Ranger separately using another 20% off coupon, not thinking they would let us stack all of that together with the 40% off in-store deal. The computer actually automatically took 40% off LC Hex before the other deal subtracted the rest and made her free. Since others were able to combine all of that, I've contacted TRU corporate to try and get reimbursed somehow, and I'd suggest others who lost out on the second figure do the same.

Mine only took the frito lay coupon, they said they couldn't take both the frito lay and the 20% off at the same time. Plus they said the 20% wouldn't work for swap force because there's a pic of the giants starter pack on it. Foolish employees.

Yep, that is exactly how I did it too. You can't go wrong with that deal. Don't forget your Gill Grunt figure you will be getting in a couple of months because you spent over $100....or close too it any way.
