I pre-ordered the Wii U version of Swap Force months ago, back when they starting offered a free poster for $1 pre-order. I didn't think much of it (planning to get Dark Edition at Gamestop), but interestingly enough I got the following e-mail this morning:

"Dear Valued Guest,

Thank you for shopping at Toys"R"Us and Babies"R"Us!

We wanted to inform you that we have not yet received inventory on your WiiU SKYLANDERS SWAPFORCE STAR pre-order which was expected in-store on October 13th, 2013. We will send you a follow-up email once this item is available and ready for pickup.

Honestly, there are 2 other threads about this.

Call your local TRU and verify the email. A lot of people have received this email and it is just a result of TRU staff not checking in their inventory properly.

Thanks for letting me know (even if those posts are in the Swap Force forum, not the Toys/Merchandise forum which is probably more appropriate).

As I said in my post, this didn't really concern me too much since I'm getting the Dark Edition starter pack at Gamestop, so no need for me to call. Just posted to give other people a heads up.

Good to know it's probably just employee error.

Yes a lot of panic going on thanks to the email, facebook has had some people posting about this, but come Sunday everyone will be happy......i hope

I think they always do this on pre-orders. Everytime I've ever pre-ordered a movie from them, I've gotten that same email. The first time they did it, I waited to hear back (which I thought they were supposed to do), but didn't hear a thing. I ended up going in after a couple of days and they had them, but had sold out of the free gifts they were giving with it. I've since learned never to trust those emails. I think their system is messed up and sees that their inventory is zero because they aren't supposed to sell them yet. Not sure how else to explain it

I'm a TRU Electronics employee, so I can weigh in here. All it is is the store(s) in question have not scanned the games into a designated presale bay for whatever reason. Call your local stores to ensure your stuff is there, but don't panic guys.

This happened to me last year. It was due to TRU not checking them in properly. They will have enough starter packs. I got an Email saying mine was going to be ready for pick up on Sunday.
