Explains why there's a shoehorned in achievement to see the 'message of the day'. THAT one irked me a little.

Online has been bounced around---VV has been denying it though---which is why I'm wondering if this statement is true or not. At best, we DID hear about an online component with scoring, but this suggests online game play.

I also doubt this because VV directly told skylandersboygirl that they will not be patching...something like online gaming would need to be updated from time to time.

I hate to be "one of those people"...but I doubt this big time until there's some meat to this.

Where di this come from? I hope it's true, I always said if skylanders went online it would need to be only with friends or something that kids can be safe and all. Only way it could work as it's a game geared towards kids.

There is no online. Your Portal Master Rank is tied to your Gamertag/PSN account. In Swap Force, it will even show what your Gamerpicture is (360). On the collection screen (this is all based on pics in the guide), it even says *insert Gamertag*'s collection. So, I go by GameMaster1178 on Xbox Live. On the collection screen, it will say GameMaster1178's collection, on the collection screen in Swap Force, thus making you feel more like a Portal Master.

That's what I thought GM...and to be fair it said nothing about online GAMEMPLAY...just that it had an online component.

I didn't want to spread wrong info, but since it was there in black and white I thought I'd take one last stab at it.

Oh well, there's always the NEXT game.

Yeah the more I thought about it the more I felt it was unlikely. I was also thinking there would be some kind of warning/confirmation on the E.S.R.B. tag. It usually states "Online content not rated" on or near the E.S.R.B. rating...oh well maybe next time.

Wii U.....not the Wii. The Wii already has half the game cut out already, there's no chance it will have online.

My Wii U game patched itself when I put it in, so I think they are willing to patch stuff now, and original Wii users will just have to live with whatever they get, which really isn't any different than any Wii game.

ahh.. so they can patch now, but it better not be serious game braking bugs in the game. because if they cant bother to properly finish a game, that cost most of us here $200 or some of us $800 if they buy'em all. i will serious reconsider buying this game. because spending serious money on a game where you have no option to make backup of the game fixing patch is no good.

I'm waiting to hear the big breaks in the game. With all of this reliance on hardware they are bound to need patching in a release, and their no patches stance is going to bite them sooner or later. Their games are going to get more complicated so either they slow down the release schedule or start to recognize this need. I'll stop the franchise cold turkey (even mid release) if I hear there are some serious bugs.

The wii U version of skylanders giants had a day one patch too.

No, there isn't a chance. The Wii is horrible and can barley support the game as it is.

pretty sure online competitive gaming did not make it, but there is an online aspect to it...I believe it's related to assigning your portal master rank to your gamertag. There may also be some features with ranking scores...not sure on that one.

Funny you say that as you non-Wii owners got ports of the 1st and 2nd game, because those games were developed on Wii and then ported to other consoles, such irony.

I'm on X360, but I have friends who got it on PS3 and they have the same stuff, leaderboards and they can see their friends' collection too.
