Please use search before you start a thread. A thread was started two days ago on this very topic.

1. Click Search.
2. Select Swap Force section.
3. Type portal in search box.
4. Click Search.

Unrelated but similar question. Anyone know if the new portal will work with the old games (have they mentioned this)? Or do you need the old one to go back and play the first two games? I leave mine plugged into the XBox all the time since I have the cord run through the back of the cabinet. I'm getting the WiiU version this time, but I am curious.

It will work with the old games.

It's basically the same ol' Portal, but it has different programming to understand the Swap technology.

I wouldn't be adverse to a wireless portal. I've been using rechargeables since Spyro's Adventure and wireless makes life so much easier.

for the 3DS version I'd love to have a rechargable portal. But eh. less Activitions as to do right?

My only question is if the portal is backward-compatible to the first two games. I guess we'll know soon enough!

Hey for those like me that HATE the short cord, I just purchased a 30 foot USB extension cable that work great...it has saved my life...lol. The cable was only $12.50 on Amazon. I FULLY recommend it.

I just bought Skylanders Swap Force Xbox 360. The new portal can work with Xbox Skylanders Giants and Skylanders first game.
