Yes, you can use any major credit card. If you are a paypal member they will detect your email address and have you sign up.

Also, don't try to do all 4 sidekick requests at once if you are using PayPal.... they will usually cancel the last transaction.

I am not sure what you mean by this. I got 4 sets all together and three of the sets (12 figures) were ordered together all using the same PayPal account.

I made three sidekick purchases and when the fourth was processed, PayPal rejected the transaction. Apparently their system detected fraud and kicked out the last transaction. Spent hours on the phone with them... Then 10 minutes with Activision/Marketing company. I ended up getting all I ordered, but far too much struggle.

Yes, they thought there was a fraud on my account, as I purchased 4 sidekicks in a row. Even though they were considered a major partner of the promotion. Sure I can spend a lot more than the 2.50 and no one blinks an eye, but 2.50 four times in a row and no eye-small? Really?

I had a payment failure with eye small, then that code was no good. My husband bought new chips and I was able to order him but had to send him to a different address. I also got a fraud call from my credit card company. Other 3 went fine.

As the owner of a Visa Debit card myself, I just want to warn you... It's advertised as counting as a Visa, but there are some companies which use automated systems which don't count them as valid. I seem to only have trouble online (not everywhere online, but I only get problems online, which is the main place it's supposed to count as a Visa, LOL!).

Tell your mother that people online suggest PayPal. It's easy to sign up and set it up, it DOES work with my Visa Debit card, and it helps keep your credit card transactions secure and private. That's what PayPal is designed as, a way to use your credit card online in a secure way, to not have to give the number to every online store you want to shop at.

(I live in Canada, so I'm not able to participate in this promotion, so I haven't had a chance to try, I'm just warning you of the possibility).

I wouldn't say PayPal is any more or less secure than any other vendor, but the main advantage is that your information is stored in ONE PLACE, not at every Tom, Dick and Harry internet web site.

Also, I NEVER recommend using a Debit Card number tied to a checking account. If you are compromised, you'll be immediately impacted.

Agreed with both niceguy1 an GhostRoaster...PayPal is easy to get, and safer for your mom's Debit Card/checking account. It only takes 3 to 4 days to verify her checking account to PayPal, then you can enter you codes and use the same e-mail used to create the PayPal account. smilie Easy-Peasy smilie

If your dad has a PayPal account...then just use his...i don't think he would mind the $10 charge. Have him read what everybody has said here...you don't have time, you need to put in your orders now...because they will cost way to much on E-Bay or Amazon.

With the cost of the chips + PP "shipping costs" per figure you're roughly looking at $10 per figure or $40 for the four--and a lot of chips. You can also choose not to do that and brave eBay...but I'd expect at least $70 or so until they show up in another promotion at another store.

Ah, but therein lies the security, that you are only sharing your information in ONE place. Also, PayPal is large and well established, and as such is guaranteed legit, and they can't afford to do anything fishy. Compare that to a little online store run out of someone's garage. PayPal is much more trustworthy than most places you might want to buy things.

As for a chequing account being compromised, I go back to the "PayPal is large and well established" argument. You trust them not to compromise you, and you keep your end private, secret and secure. And remember that for some people, it's this or be locked out of ordering things online. That's certainly the case for me. smilie I like how when I "charge" things I'm not running up credit I'm going to have to pay later, I'm paying it immediately. I can't overspend.

A friend of mine even has an optional PayPal card, it's like a credit card with an electronic display. When he makes a PayPal purchase, he has to activate something on the card, it gives him a number to enter during the payment process. So even if, say, I had his PayPal login information, I'd still be unable to use it to pay for anything without having that card in hand.
