Just left Gamestop and they got an email from corporate that said they are taking coupons. smilie
Didn't have time to find old thread...but wanted to post.

I will have to check this out and see if my GS will have a change of heart also.
Maybe all of our complaining had something to do with it.
I tend to think so, since I don't believe this has ever been done (Game Stop changing there policy to honor second hand coupons).

I just called my local GS and it is confirmed, they are HONORING the $10 Frito Lays coupon and still taking pre-orders. Going there right now to
Re-Pre-Order my Dark Starter.

Just got back from Re-Pre Ordering and again was confirmed that my store will honor the Dark Starter, and it also will come with LC Hex.

Got the Wii version since I have the Xbox Starter Pre-Ordered at TRU. I will have a version for each system (Wii/Xbox/3DS). The Portals are universal (Xbox/Wii/PS3) with each system except for the 3DS.

Nice job, I do not have enough points to earn that coupon. I am half way there. I used a lot of my points back in March for another coupon. Oh well.

Woot, thanks. Going ask my wife to take them with her tomorrow and use them and pay off the balance. If they say no, I should refer them to some corp email, right?

Hmm... Get the Dark Starter for ~$98.76 or get standard at mTRu for ~$54.86. Tough choice as I really like those dark variants.

DEPENDS IF $44 is worth it for the dark edition. you are getting 2 extra figures (est $20) so like a $24 def.


I'm going with the dark edition as I love spyro so it works for me.
I'll pick up the basic version when it hits around $40.
The 3ds version idk what I'm doing yet.

I feel your pain but I already have my pre order for the original at walmart. GS couldn't give me a straight answer on if they'd take the coupons when I asked, this was also before LC HEX was included, and so I said forget this place then. Went to a place I know will take it and know i'll get a LC HEX. That coupon is like a free figure!

Does anyone here on DS work at a GameStop? Can they print out the email, redact it as necessary and upload an image of it? That way we will be armed with it on launch day? This would be much appreciated by all on DS I am sure. TIA

Yes i to would like a copy of this e-mail....my local Gamestop had no idea about the corporate e-mail. Thay also said they think the coupon won't work for the Dark Starter Pack, do to it being $20 more in cost. The 2 of them started looking thru there system e-mails. I stayed there for about ten min's...told them i had to go, had things to do. But while i was there they couldn't find it.

This might be an easy test.

If you have the coupons from Frito Lays, you should have the $1/$5, if you have not already used them. Take them in to see if they work, I would say if they work then the $10 coupon will work.
Let me know what you find out...

Wife spoke to the guy at gamestop today they said they might be able to take them but usually they don't. Going to see if one of us can head down tomorrow and see if the manger is around and show them the coupon. Hopefully they take them, would save me a good $40.

Is it possible to use the coupon when you pick this up at Gamestop? My Wife thought the figures looked cool so is getting this for me for Christmas. Not sure if you have to spend the money all up front for the preorder is why I ask (since she's left the store not to long ago and called to tell me smilie )

For GameStop, you can put money towards the game before release and actually pay it all off so on release you jsut have to walk in, pick it up and leave without spending anything.

For coupons, from the way the guys at mine talk, they only take coupons for pre-order stuff when you pick it up.

i wouldnt even bother with gamestop if i could get this elsewhere for retail price.

Man... I hope that someone can come up with a copy of this email. The drones at my local gamestop would be hard pressed on an IQ test vs fruit. They will not be able to find such an email I am sure. If any DS denizens are GS employees, please, please up a copy of it. We are begging you.

Gamestop is already on my "Only if I can't get it anywhere else or they have a really awesome pre-order bonus" for previous issues. They will get zero dollars for other figures from me unless they have an exclusive down the road. They get the Dark Starter sale and that's it - and they wouldn't even get that if it wasn't a Christmas gift my son will really like.
