Nothing is going to change if you wait till the day. Going to a midnight release will just make you so tired that you wont be able to stay awake long enough to play the game.

Not much is going to change if you wait for normal hours.

I'll go at midnight opening because it is fun. Because I'm going to see some fellow Skylanders fans, including a couple from here.

The game will remain untouched in my household until Christmas anyways, so early play isn't the reason. I'm sure I would be able to find everything I'm getting the next day, so that isn't the reason either.

This is a prime example of some of this juvenille comments that I wouldn't expect from a moderator. If I had indeed did something incorrectly, a simple off board PM would do just fine...which is exactly what darkSpyro did when I was posting right behind my posts.

I go to Midnight showings for movies and launches for games all the time. Midnight launches have their own reasons to be fun outside of just getting something early and as far as getting tired is concerned, the act of sleeping is personalized around an individual's life.

Furthermore, a game like Skylanders is not just about the game. I always read stories on these forums about the adventures in finding the figures and players' love for collecting them. Getting there at midnight may be about the desire to make sure you get the ones you want.

Basically what I am getting at is, we all live different lives and appreciate different things within them.

Does that answer your question?

Sounds like, to me, that you can't go to a midnight release and don't want everyone getting stuff before you.

Anyways back on topic I'm going because it's fun and also I'm Christian and I go to church. If I go to church I wouldn't be able to get tithe stores until 1. And even the poorly advertised Gamestop event had 5 people so then if you think about that magnitude compared to this magnitude your going to feet a lot of people. Even at midnight I'm not getting the game. It won't be till the afternoon that I go to Gamestop to pick up my Dark Starter Pack. Trust me I have a valid reason.

Oh...in that case...my apologies Matteomax. Statements on off-topic comments are still true, obviously. And I don't even know what Big Green is. I sometimes go to the Video Gaming section but the range of interests are too diversified for any meaningful discussion. (My latest being next gen console's death with cloud gaming)

Well, as many have posted here, it's sort of an even, for fun. They are not going to get the game faster, but to have a gathering with fellow Skylanders fans at an event, for fun.

I wish I could go to a midnight release, I've never been to one really....But, my parents and my sister probably wouldnt agree to go, heck, my mom might not even want to buy the game. Oh well, I'll just go with my dad (Not to the midnight event.)

And besides, hopefully I'll have Pokemon X to keep me busy until I can get the money to buy the game.....Though, I still need to buy Hoot Loop, Rattle Shake, Magna Charge, and Free Ranger before they're gone.

Honestly, if you're not going to touch your game system until Christmas, it's foolish to buy it the first day. You'll be able to save a sizable amount of money on the system if you wait until the end of November.

My deal will be better since I'm getting two characters for free, and I'll get the game for ~$50. Plus, I'm getting the Dark pack and to my knowledge that won't go on sale.

I am buying 60%-75% less this year just to take advantage of sales throughout the year...I learned from Giants.

I plan on buying the Wii/Xbox starter on Black Friday...

It's a topic and a question, sounds fine to me. I'll be heading there at midnight cause i get off my night job at 11pm and tru is 15min from there.

Exactly why I want to go also, cause it's cool seeing fellow players, i do wonder how many will bring their kids. The game is also prob going away till xmas but we will see. It depends if we bring out 7yr old son or not. He's very excited about the game, knows it's coming out "soon". If he does get it early it will be an early xmas gift, which my wife and I are fine with cause we get to paly too and the fact his birthday is in feb so he hasnt gotten much since last yr minus some skylanders i got on sale.

Depends on your area, stuff could sell out like TRU legendaries or walmarts hoot loop. Rather get them while I can without having to deal with online orders and items coming in crushed packages (yes you tru). I could preorder some but i'd have to deal with shipping at tru since i'd be ordering 4 of each, which means 4 different orders. So for me walking in the store and dealing with it all at once works best.
