Instead of starting a bunch of threads, lets' use this thread to communicate our initial thoughts of the game.

Rate the game on a scale of 1 (bad) - 10 (best). We'll average out the scores and I'll note it in this post.

Example areas of discussion:

Gameplay mechanics--Does the characters play well; animate smoothly?
Graphics - What do you like/dislike about the graphics?
Storyline - No specifics on story, but does the storyline meet/exceed expectations?
The Hub-What do you like/dislike about the Woodsburrow hub?
Mini Bosses--Are they funny? Are they difficult? What do you like / dislike?
Replayability--How do you perceive the replayability factor of this game as compared to its predecessors?

Do NOT discuss storyline specifics; gameplay specifics as it relates to the gamer experience is fine.

I know a few of you may get the game early, so get your game ON!

Hmm. I remember doing this when Giants came out.

I'm looking forward to reading the reviews, as I won't be able to get the game day 1 like for giants.

Reserved... Not 100% sure if I'm getting the game right away but I will at least try to buy it, give it a shot, and return it if I don't like it. I'm going to do as thorough an analysis as possible... Mainly on how the customisation on figures has changed.

This is an example of the type of posts I don't want to have for a review.

Last bump. The purpose of this thread was so that we don't add 10,000 thoughts threads and put them here where we can assess what ALL darkSpyro members think of the game. Either it gets traction now or let the Kaos of the multiple threads reign supreme.

Bump, because I want to see more posts here as well.

I played the console version and the level design is probably the best in the series, but I have very mixed feelings about the figure interaction. It's too early for me to judge fully since I still haven't beaten it, but I'll edit my previous post with my opinions once I do.

Anyway, I just played about an hour of the 3DS version.
That's it. I can't do this. This game is just... I can't continue. I find it difficult to believe it, but this game has sailed lower than my already low expectations. It's just not fun and it's not interesting and it's too mind-numbingly easy. The only thing it's good for is keeping Skylanders on the go, but even then, it's not fun. Maybe one day I'll trudge through it just to say I beat it, but I could spend those few hours, oh, I don't know, soft resetting my Pokémon game instead.

I do have a couple of things I liked about it, but unfortunately it was overshadowed by a lot of faults. I'm not gonna review this how you asked though, 'cause that's how I roll smilie

+Count Moneybone is an awesome villain. He reminds me a lot of Discord. This makes the story a lot more interesting than last time, just because one would like to see more of this guy. I don't know how often he actually pops up, though.
-You can hold all of your Skylanders at once. This means that your toys are never needed. This is Skylanders and it means that there is also a huge collection of toys you can pick from. And since you never need to use a toy once again after registering it, it feels more like a key than anything. So why have toys at all?
?The graphics are just passable. They're a lot better than the last game but you can still see quite a bit of pixelation and some muddy textures.
-NPCs are a lot more involved and talk all the time. This feels a lot more like the console version. In other words, the problem with Giants 3DS feeling like a horribly watered down, very poor edition of the console version is a lot more clear in SWAP Force 3DS. Stop trying to emulate it, n-Space, you are designing for a console that cannot handle something the size of the main game.
+It's clear that n-Space put more attention into environment designs this time. I just went to a haunted forest where you platform across some wooden claws of monster-faced trees. There's an area where you need to jump from some leaves that are caught in a tornado. The GUIs and such also look nicer.
-The difficulty. Even on Hard mode, the game is pathetically easy. It requires very little strategy to pummel through every enemy, and to make things worse, (the new) characters have very simple attack sets. You don't really need to set anything up or use their different attacks that often, you can just get through most of the combat shooting Rattle Shake's gun and not much else. The enemy attack patterns and AI are just that dumb and they don't deal much damage anyway.
-It doesn't change or add or improve much from the last two games. There are no new exciting additions and there aren't really any major improvements.
-And it's just not a good game. It's too easy to pose any challenge, the level layout is so simple and straightforward there's no interest to return to it and play your Skylanders while you're going around, the moves of the new Skylanders aren't exciting and there's little variety. There are so many things I can see wrong with this game, and it's just giving me no motivation to continue. Well done, n-Space. You have disappointed me with different games I was interested in three times on the same console, I'm not buying this rubbish any more.

Would recommend?: 2/5- No. There's nothing unique about this game, the level layout is far too simple, there's next to no challenge, the toys just add cost with no real reason to be there, it doesn't improve a significant amount from its predecessors... It's a very difficult game to recommend, unless you're a Portal Master that would like to carry their Skylanders army around, and even then it isn't a very fun game anyway and it just feels like a really, really bad rip of the console version!
