So I got Pumpkin Eye-Brawl yesterday, and I was disappointed that he doesn't show up. But then I thought: variants that don't show up usually start at level 5 with 2100 coins. It's weird because it does not say Pumpkin on the box, and the card and the box show the normal. The only difference is the special edition sticker. Did anyone else notice this? Did yours have the coins?

Wrong section.

Special variants always start that way, no matter which one. Even in the first game. Like Blue Bash from SSA or GitD Sonic Boom from SG.

It's been confirmed; He's just completely normal, except for the "Special" tag in-game.

But I think he will show up like that in SSF, with the Pumpkin head.

V.V. said it's something they'd like to do in the future. With no way to patch the game I don't know how they implement it in Swap Force...Next time maybe.

But they knew about PEB waaaaay before we were even introduced to him, so couldn't VV just bplop it into the game? It was still in developement when we first heard, so yeah.

Myskylanders played the finished version on german and he tryied him out.

This is all true bunt the in the interview with Mr. Bala and Skylander Dad he said it was basically something they could possibly do in the future. If this was a feature already in Swap Force I believe he would have revealed it then.

When I found out Pumpkin Eye Brawl was NOT an in game variant I stopped caring about him, why waste my money...

He was trying to be nice to skylanders dad. It's not gonna happen. Just flush that idea now.

The general concensus is that PEB was a marketing trick that mislead others...despite the fact that 1. the back card showed REGULAR EYE BRAWL, 2. the trading card said EYE BRAWL, and 3. The figure itself on the front of the package said EYE BRAWL.

Folks were so used to in game variants everyone was still hoping it was this way here, but in reality the packaging was good...however, I'm sure a lot of mis-trust has been born from the release of this figure, and may turn people off of variants in the future.

Yeah I agree despite what was said. I personally don't think it's gonna happen either. This isn't really anything new though. The Blue Bash and Red Drill Sgt. were also no different in game along with a few others. There are a few ways you can tell of they look different before you buy. If they look different in that in game picture they have on the back of every package that's your first clue. Also if you are purchasing it at a store with an active portal, slap it on there and see what it looks like in game. Also you can check the internet nowadays to see what's what before you buy too.

^Exactly...however this doesn't prevent those who bought (most noticeably on the poor Amazon reviews) to be super mad. Unfortunately, damage is being done. I'm guessing it felt like a good idea at the time b/c they were obviously planning Swap Force variants and wanted to get this one out now...but in reality they did something that caught more casual gamers by surprise...and I'm sure may breed some short time dissension.

Yeah that would suck. online ordering without holding it to check the packaging would suck. A simple disclaimer tag of "Toy Variant Only" would go along way.
