Next weeks ToysRUs ad is stating that select stores will be doing a midnight release for Swap Force. I sure hope my store will be one of them since I was planning on hitting Walmart up at midnight anyway.

Guess I'm going to have to check out my TRU tomorrow and see what their story is on the midnight launch.. I would much rather do that then my current plan. Hopefully I can also find out if they know what the sale for SSF will be on launch day so I can report back. Highly doubt I'll know though, since y'all usually keep me ahead of the loop ;) I tend to know more about their events and releases before they know.

Too bad u have a 40 minute drive to where I shop. Either way I am making two trips. I have Walmart and possibly ToysRUs at midnight then I have to head back out again in the morning to hit up Target (for Nitro), GameStop (Dark Edition) and possibly Best Buy. Probably won't get much sleep next weekend.

What's posted in the OP here is just a list of the Regular/Suggested Retail Prices. Why is this news?

Ditto. I don't know anything about a midnight release, and I just got a mailer from TRU in the mail--which btw has a $10 coupon in it which is good until end of October that I plan to use WITH my Frito Lay coupon.

So, I take it TRU isn't doing a B1G1 50% off on Skylanders this year?

If they don't I'm not planning on buying anything there but any legendaries as their prices is $1 more (which adds up when you are piling it on)

Unknown. Their 10/13 ad hasn't leaked yet.

Midnight TRU launch information is provided in this Sundays ad. I am sure that their website will update accordingly at that time so we can search which stores will be doing the special openings. I don't know about past years Skylanders releases but I think this is a pretty big deal for a store to be offering this on a younger demographic game. To me this really shows the size and scope of the time and energy both Activision and retailers plan on putting into this game.

Oh. Just heard. TRU will be getting most of my Skylanders launch money... but not as much as I'd have to spend elsewhere.

Through further research I see TRU did do a midnight launch for Giants. This is my first Skylanders launch so I wasn't aware. I am pretty excited about it regardless. And contrary to what Bahamut "2 Legit" Breaker says, my OP did in fact bring something up that I think could very well be important and newsworthy. The fact that the Walmart ad is advertising the Enchanted Hoot Loop as a "One Time Offer". What does that mean exactly?

Likely means it'll be a "one and done" shipment, like Molten Hot Dog, GitD Sonic Boom, etc. They'll get the initial shipment and not get any more.

Well its going to be like Granite Crusher now you see him and now you don't. You better buy one while the getting is good. If not you will be paying some bucks later for him. But do you buy Nitro Magna with Free Ranger or Rattle shake that is the question. I'm getting it with Free Ranger myself.

Sweet thanks for the info. i get off at 11pm that night, going see what tru have it near me and head there. Thou this may tempt me to stay up all night and play which would be bad as i have work the following night and plan to go hunting sunday morning.

If it follows granite crusher and jade flashwing you have 1-2 weeks max to find nitro then he's gone. Some may even say you have one day to find him. I suggest drop the $30 if you can or risk spending $60 on ebay.

More then likely they will do something, but who knows. We wont know till Sunday 10/13 ad leaks. Hopefully they will.

Some sites get ad leaks and post them a few days before. I know stores also get the ads for their employees a few days before so they know what the sale next week is (like maybe friday etc)

Hopefully someone will share.

Otherwise you can go to your local TRU if it's open at midnight and see for yourself or at the same time look online as the weekly ad goes up at 12am EST, however the sales for that ad dont come online till later on, possibly 12am PST?

so not counting leaks, the store dos not reveal its sales until the same day as release day?
why are they so secretive about there sales?
I would think that advertising them would bring more people to TRU then other stores on release day...

Sorry to bust your bubble, but 3DS Starter has both - Rattle Shake and Free Ranger.

TRU is confirmed for midnight releases at select stores and 8 AM openings for others. Also they mailed out a new circular with a coupon that's worded as such "20% off one regular priced Skylanders starter pack, figure, or video game accessory". Presumably it could work on SWAP Force.

I don't know if this was noticed before either but pre-orders are available for wave 1 figures on the TRU website too. I truly hope all of these recent posts live up to BahamutBreakers high level of posting standards. I want nothing more in this life than to make him happy.

Guh. Pokemon/StreetPass event on the 11th into the 12th, then Skylanders on the 12th into the 13th, then a second StreetPass event on the 13th...

No stores near me doing midnight. Might as well get up at 8.

Thanks for the link, but it did me no good. Since the stores in Paramus, NJ (Bergen County) aren't opened at all on Sundays, I figured that the stores in the neighboring NJ counties would look to take advantage and open at midnight, but none of them are. I could go into NY, but since I'm already preordered in NJ, it's not worth it. I will still hit up walmart at Midnight, to secure an EHL. When I went there at 7:15AM last year beofre I hit TRU, they only had the 3 LC figs and one GITD pack left , and I was fortunate that it was for the XBOX360. Since their exclusives are known for being "one and done", I'm not taking that chance this time around.

Ugh.. Three stores near me are doing it.

TRU has to have a BOGO deal since its prices are generally higher than other stores. If not, then I can bypass TRU and hit my Wal-Mart since it is 24 hours.

Nice, looks like we get a midnight opening around here at TRU. Was planning to go there anyways, they always have a good sale on release and at bare minimum I'll get whatever legendary they have.

The only thing I really need to get there are the Legendaries, the rest can be bought anywhere. I'm sure they realize this, TRU is big on the whole "higher price, but lower when on sale" thing. Target, Walmart and Gamestop each have their own exclusives to draw folks away.

The main thing that was drawing me to TRU, besides the Legendary figures, was the two free figure promotion they did with pre-order. You get the LC Hex and another regular figure of your choice free. I got my PS3 version coming by way of the Dark Edition at Gamestop so I ordered the 3DS version the TRU. I might just skip out on the 3DS version all together for a while since I want the Nitro Magna Charge at Target. I have no real interest in getting exclusive Eruptor right away. I am totally still going to go to the midnight opening at TRU though considering how poorly they have stocked legendary figures at my local store in the past.

TRU generally charges a dollar more for all their figures. Walmart is usually 3 cents cheaper anywhere else, and gamestop will generally charge standard price.

I see that tru has pre order up...but wasnt sure on price difference. Fyi...tru, I add to cart...then once all is added I go ti cart to check out and the items I added arent there. Only thing in cart are two older items. Im doing this on phone so thay could be reason

I agree with trixster. I also feel Nitro will be like granite crusher. The pack maybe available for a couple of weeks in store and online but like most variants they will fly off shelves faster than the regular counter parts. I wouldn't wait for a sale or whatever because it will be gone before that unless they do a sale at launch which is possible. I really hope I can find the pack online. I don't have a car so getting there would be a bit difficult.

^Realy..i agree also...I could never find a Granite Crusher in the store....had to pay a mint for the one i got from some you know what online. And im sure Nitro will be just like Granite, there for a short time then gone. If you see Nitro Magna Charge in Target...i'd grab it.
