The Dark Edition looks great, thanks!

I posted every source on the site including the links to the official site. Even the images are only embedded from the site.

I know, I was just skeptical about the Enchanted Star Strike variant until now, since dark posted her existence before, but never revealed where he found it.

FYI, Wood burrow looks very cool, there are many parts which are not open from the start, you have to continue in the story first. Battle arenas and bonus missions are available after unlocking. (Arenas: story mode, bonus missions via completing swap zones. You can also buy some at the store in wood burrow). There are 42 Swap Zones and after you have completed them once you can access them via Wood burrow. You will be ported in front of the zone. Then you can do them again and now you can earn up to three stars for your portal master rank. In a jump zone I had to collect all 3, aehm, things (gems? forgot) for one star, complete it for a second and jump on every platform for the third.

Every Swap Zone consists of three parts and in the jump zones there are alternate ways to the target (that's where the gems are).

If there is a second player, he can assist. In the jump zone he can place a trampolin for a third jump (you can jump twice before hiting the ground again). Climb zone is a shock wave, rocket zone support is making the cricles you have to fly through bigger. Teleport zones are fun, too, you have to port bevor your "platform" disappears. You have to port to a few gems to finish one part (three parts per swap zone again).

The bonus missions are available after completing chapter 4 (or 5, forgot). You meet Master Eon and he kinda unlocks them so the ones you collected so far are available at this point. There are small missions one can find in Wood burrow too, just search.

There are many minigames in the levels, not only the swap zones. Some elemental zones are cute mario-like sidescrolling missions, tasks include fishing for a "cogwheel-fish" and driving a boat. I really like the idea behind it: variety. There was clearly to much plain combat in the first two games.

Ah, and there is a store owned by a funny locking hippo after chapter 3. You have to build it by yourself smilie .

Any word on how to obtain these recent 5 variants?

If I had to guess I would say:

Jade Fire Kraken - Target
Enchanted Star Strike - Walmart
World Cup Countdown - UK exclusive?
Jolly Bumble Blast - Christmas release
Spring Trigger Happy - Easter release

World Cup Countdown is never ever UK exklusive! Never! Ever! I doubt that there are country or continent exclusive. Soccer is the most popular sport in the world and not only europe but also south america, africa and asia are crazy about it.

Wow, I just came back from a day of Maverick Hunting and there's a whole bunch of news waiting for me!

Damn, that Dark Starter Pack looks awesome. I dropped my plans for getting it in order to save money, but I still really want it. Hopefully they'll get single card releases like Gnarly Tree Rex did.

Also loving the new variants. Also, did anyone else notice that in L-Zoo Lou's art, his creatures are blue, yet in game they're still green. Hmmm...

Well that's technically not confirmed but if it was it would mean that out of the 3 soul gems 2 would be for a Swapper and 1 for a core. I guess this means that they may only have levels 1-16 have soul gems so that you can fully upgrade your Skylanders for the final boss battle.

The voices are okay but I prefer the english ones. English language is on the disk so you can swap if you want. Kaos, Glumshanks and, of course, the voices of the old skylanders and reposes are the same as in Giants. So Chill's voice is still awful!
I heard the voices of Blast Zone, Wash Buckler, Rattle Shake, Magna Charge, Zoo Lou and some other new characters. They definitely tried to give you the same experience, so Magna Charge has this robotic sounding voice. It's just that some of the voice actors lack a fitting voice. Or let's say the studio made some bad choices for some characters.

About the giants in Swap Force: There are "giant-vaults" you can only open with a giant. There is just money in it so you don't need a giant to complete the game or an achievement.

Yeah that was exactly it. Suggests to me that either Giants figures will continue to be sold as they are, be repackaged for Swap Force or we will see new Giants (maybe just Series 2). Would seem crazy to put a figure specific thing in Swap Force and not have at least one figure on sale continuously over the next 12 months that can open access it.

No they are but until we see every single level having both parts of e soul gem we don't technically know. Even though I'm 99% that there will be the double soul gem thing. I'm just saying that technically we can't be certain but we can be very sure.

(Forgive me for this I just love the scientific meathod and it states that almost nothing is certain, including the possibility the sun will rise tommorow)

I tried to get one, but they couldn't sell it yet and just thought it was weird they already put the starter packs on the shelves. I did enjoy getting my first in person view of the figures in the pack.

I wasn't allowed to take photos of the screen so I can't show you Wood burrow. (The German name is "Holzhausen" btw for all the german/austrian/swiss etc. guys here smilie )

It's like a tree village.

The goal of the first chapter is to reach it and you need to ride some "rails" (branches) to get there at the end of the level. There is a big place with a fountain in the middle and some additional areas on the right and on the left. If you walk straight there is a hut where the village elder lives. Some areas are not accessible because the stairs are still broken, they get repaired by completing a particular chapter. It's more like the first game's hub than the second's. Of course there is also a upgrade pod (there should be one in every chapter except the first). I found a sidescrolling bonus mission by jumping to a hidden place via some mushrooms grwoing on a tree trunk (hope Shroomboom isn't angry), so you have to look carefully.

And I want to add that the swap zone support possibilities are very limited. If you are the player who doesn't play the zone you can, for example, use a shockwave destroying all objects on the screen like I wrote earlier just by pressing a button. You can't control anything and you need to wait maybe 20 seconds or so to do it again.

I love the new lock puzzles. You can fully play them in 2 person mode because there are always 2 cubes (Shock and Bolt)you have to merge. It's optional to collect a thunderbolt for each of them. If you collect these 2 bolts and merge the two you get 3 bolts after completing the puzzle but they are just worth 75 money each, at least in the first few chapters. So, you don't really have to collect everything in every puzzle.
It is in fact more fun to play these puzzles with 2 players so you don't have to swap between the cubes all the time.

I don't know if this is old news, but when I went into GameStop yesterday and preorderd the swap force guide, he said there was a regular edition ($20) and a collector' edition ($35). I'm not sure what the difference is other than the collectors version having a hard cover and some posters inside, I got the regular one instead. I was wondering if the collectors edition maybe had more pages for swap landers and their combos.

Thanks! I was hoping for a more "open" hub (the idea of stairs that you use to reach different places kinda give me a feeling of limitation), but it still seems cool.

The collector edition is a hard cover and comes with an exclusive collector card. I pre ordered one from Amazon for like $26.

So Wal-Mart still has Enchanted Hoot Loop listed for Preorder, but they have raised the price to $99.99.

Haha... Wal-Mart has become a scalper.

I didn't know gameplay videos aren't a official confirmed source of information.

Not entirety speaking for the other person, but for myself, I noticed that both halves do have their own Soul Gem but it doesn't mean that they are acquired separately. We know that both halves have a Soul Gem ability I just assumed that when a Swapper got his Soul Gem he got it as a singular item that unlocked both halves.
