Why? The game is two weeks away, you can't use them before that anyways. If it was a couple months, maybe, but 50% more for figures that are going to fill shelves and likely be on sale the first week?

And for the Series 2 and 3 guys, you could technically use the previous games and "level him up" before Swap Force starts. Not that I think that does absolutely ANYTHING positive.

But yeah, these things will be clogging up stores. Only people that have to have them now (ie impulse buy) will jump on these.

When you buy one of these, you're selling stock they stole, giving them a profit for cheating and robbing a store of their supply.

I feel bad for whoever goes to that store only to find that an employee got all the stock two weeks before the game came out to resell it. I hope that eBay stops these listings.

By the way- what would this be reported under? I'm logged in and I want to join in the bandwagon, too. If more users bring these up they will come to eBay's attention faster.

I just tried to report the listings under stolen property and Ebay said only a law enforcement official can report items stolen on there. To give the lister some credit he does put on there in the item description that the release date is Oct. 13 and it does not list a specific delivery time frame. Now the pictures are obviously not stock photos so that means the lister is in possession of the items, but it could be the back store room of a toy store we do not know that for sure. Still doesn't mean he doesn't intend to scalp on day one, but it could mean he didn't steal these. In his store, the lister also has the Battle and Adventure pack for sale but those are stock photos and specify that it is preorder only which is what he should have done for these if he didn't want to get in trouble.

Apparently, one can only report items as "Stolen" on eBay if you're an actual law enforcement agent.
Since I am not one, the best I could figure out is to .... click "Report Item", then select "Listing Activities", "Fraudulent Listing" and "you suspect a listing is fraudulent" from the 3 drop-down menus, then lastly click "Submit".
I did that for every Skylanders listing that this Seller has currently, and also for the ones that recently ended/sold (Star Strike, Grim Creeper).

I can't blame you all for being so upset at the seller, this kind of thing always bothers me so much. I hate it when someone is sneaky enough to sneak them away early just to make a quick buck and it's not fair to get this kind of head start for others.

Why must a fellow Texan do such a thing? D:

I just did the same. If he is a retailer he is breaking the agreement with Activision.

ebay may not but paypal will tried ordering a star strike paying through pay pal order was canceled because of pay pal

I hate these type of listings. It takes advantage of people's insecurities and impatience. WAIT FOR THE RELEASE - two weeks goes by in a hurry. None of those will be hard to find at all. Enjoy the anticipation, it is part of the fun. We know exactly when and where to find these, you cannot always say that with future figure releases.

It also sets the bar for scalpers early, and encourages more to jump in to try and grab a piece of the pie when the game hits. Those are the people that stalk the stores on release and clear displays, and also the people like the guy at my TRU that tried to buy the whole shipment the day the first Giants came in.

What's the difference? It's not like Activision is partially releasing stuff now...if ANY of it it is up, it's too early.

Btw, being eBay Police here is not going to help. It will take Activision to probably stop this. I'm not sure any of it is worth the effort, if only for moral and ethical reasons. Oh yeah, maybe being legal too.

First time poster.

I actually bought a few of the figures from a couple of different sellers. One of them arrived today and the other two should get here tomorrow.

Here's my opinion on the matter:

1. Everyone is accusing them of stealing the figures. I'm not saying that they didn't, but maybe he works for one of the companies tied to the game. Maybe he works somewhere that gets things early. Innocent until proven guilty exists for a reason.
2. Its a buyer's market. Meaning that if someone wants to buy them and he wants to charge extra for them, that's his choice, I was willing to pay extra to get them early.
3. I plan to get every figure and buying a few now, saves me hunting time, and prevents me from spending sooooo much on launch day.
4. Lightcore Star Strike is awesome.

I asked Activision about this. They said it was strictly against the rules, but they can't do anything about it, now that they sold.

Just wondering, why the hell are you guys making a big fuss? So what he ended up selling it 2 weeks before the release. Big whoop, it's hit job at stake, and his store's contract to sell any games made by Activision at line. They're going to get fired and lose the contract, and up to a $5,000 fine. Is it affecting you in any way? NO. Did you get scammed out of your money from buying this? NO. Seriously, you guys see it early and start fussing over it. How he got it, nobody knows, but my guess is he just put it through the system as electronics item and put the price and paid for it. (only way you could get it without the store knowing what item it is)

Quite bluntly, if Activision don't want these figures leaked early, that should be respected, plain and simple. It's reasonable that they would want this and if people can't wait another two weeks for a few toys that they can't even really use now, it's a display of ridiculous impatience. I get how it doesn't really seem like a big deal, but this is just a case where we should give the publishers/devs something that they ask for, with nothing for us in it. Besides, maybe they do have their reasons?

Also, it may not be big now... But last year it was just TRU sending out one pack early by accident, and well, if it goes more and more each time...

Thanks Shanek! Loving it so far. A lot of great information and just being able to communicate with fans of the game series that I adore is a major win for me.

Although I can't actually play with any of them, they look great and it's 3 less figures I have to worry about in a week, so I'm happy with the purchases.

The LC versions of Smolderdash and Flashwing just arrived today and Flashwing's new pose is my favorite version so far.

I'd have to disagree, the most fun I've had collecting Skylanders has been trading with forum members, followed by eBay purchases, with hunting in shops being a bit boring in comparison.
